Editorial

Welcome to the Firearms Post! As the first issue I am super excited to see where this goes. I
have some great ideas planned for this magazine as well as the L.J Allen brand in general and
this magazine is an exciting serge forward! Before we get started into where this magazine is
going to be headed for allow me to introduce myself for those who do not know me. My name is
Liam Allen and I have had a huge passion for firearms since I first began to walk. I would come
up with ideas for gun inventions that would help the neighboring ranchers defend their livestock
from wolves coyotes and other predators. The invention would detect predators and shoot them
automatically while leaving humans dogs and livestock alone. As you can imagine my mother
was slightly worried about my idea malfunctioning. When I reached the age of eight I began to
develop OCD on firearms. All I could think or talk about was guns and today that passion is all
the more. I began to look for anything to read about guns, I would look for any kind of books and
one day I found a good deal on a gun digest book of gun values which I read practically cover to
cover. My parents would get me books to read about gunsmithing, which I really enjoyed. My
Grandfathers would feed my excitement by sending me NRA magazines and going over gun
books and discussions with me. After a several years of Public school my parents decided to
homeschool me starting at the sixth grade, I was excited because I had wanted to be
homeschooled but also because gunsmithing was going to be one of my extracurriculars (can't
get that in public school these days). Once I became a teenager, one of the neighboring
ranchers who had previously lived in Texas, gave me a reproduction colt walker that had been
in a house fire. The old black powder revolver was rusty and its parts could hardly move but I
got right to work polishing it up. After six months of scrubbing and polishing I finally blued it and
it actually turned out really good. After that I did several other projects that heated my passion.
Other early amazing feat that wasn’t necessarily a good thing was the fact that the first rifle I
ever owned, a 22 cricket, I managed to wear the rifling out of the barrel in two years from
shooting it so much. And for a kids gun the Cricket rifles are fairly rugged. With the great online
tools I am looking to use that energy to promote the second amendment and help gun owners
with any gun problems that they might have. I hope to do that with my magazine. It's just a start,
believe me when I say I have some really big ideas for the near future to not only help gun
owners but keep one of our most important rights the second amendment. I hope to promote the
truth about firearms and show others who might be on the edge or totally uneducated about
firearms to learn the truth and why guns and the second amendment is so important. I want to
thank you for subscribing and I would certainly appreciate it if you share the free subscription
form with people who you know that would be interested. If you would be interested in writing a
column in this magazine or would like to share something with us feel free to email me at
Ljallenfirearms@gmail.com.
Till next time!

Politics
It's amazing how the gun world has changed since the 1900s or even just a couple years ago
for that matter. As I have been told it used to be that everyone and their dog owned and carried
a gun in their pickup and everyone knew it. There wasn’t any mass shootings. A lot of things
have changed since then, mostly heavier gun laws. A big portion of this is due to the current
people in government who are in office for power not for the people. I believe that the founding
fathers would have called these people tyrants. That’s why the second amendment was placed
in the constitution. To protect us from these tyrants. Many people seem to believe that the
second amendment was simply put in place for gun owners to defend their home, but that is
only partly true. It was meant to protect our country as well and that is why liberals want to take
it. How do we fix this? Stop putting power hungry politicians in office who are not in office for
the people and this great country. Stop electing them. How do we do that? Educate the people
voting them in. There is a large amount of people who don’t even know what is in the
constitution . It's not necessarily there fault because there were never educated on the fact of
why it is important. Leaving a void that allowed liberal propaganda to fill. Most of these people
are ignorant to the facts and simply let their emotions take over which is an asset to the left,
because when your emotion goes up your intelligence goes down. To fix this educating people
is the key. Sharing the truth and give facts to backup your truth will allow people to come back
to balance. It may take a while. You show someone a truth and it will take a while for it to
register, but over a period of time and persistence one day they will get an ah ha moment. I had
the good fortune of having great parents that educated me not only about firearms and safety
but why the second amendment was important as well. I target practiced a lot and worked on
guns, took them apart and cleaned them. Only then did I realize exactly what a firearm was.
Simply a tool, like the common chain saw or welder. There is nothing to be afraid of, technically
the cartridge is the dangerous part. But people today, specifically young left leaning people do
not understand this because they have never been educated about them. Chances are that
most of them have never used a firearm before or do not even know how one works. It would be
easy for someone to mislead them into thinking that guns just magically kill people. I am by no
means making excuses for them, I am stating that education proper education is what is missing
and what needs to be used to turn this country around as far as the second amendment goes.
Out of the box
The double Tap trigger: When the trump administration put a ban on bump stocks , many said
that gun inventors would come up with something that will bypass those laws soon enough. Well
technically they already have. The double tap trigger. The double tap trigger allows you to fire
twice as fast as on a normal Ar-15. It fires once when the trigger is pulled back and then again
when released. So for every normal time you would fire a factory Ar-15 you would be firing twice
using the double tap trigger. Since it still requires at least one single function of the trigger to
fire, it is not considered a machine gun component by the ATF. So it is completely one hundred
percent Legal. You can Check out videos online to see how it works. The trigger comes with
installation instructions and has instructions on their website as well.
The Gilboa Double Barrel AR-15: Double barrel shotguns have been around since the 1800s.
There were even double barrel big bore rifles. Now we have double barrel AR-15 Rifles by
Gilboa in Israel. The DRR snake is basically two AR-15 rifles fused together and then designed
for balance and ease of shooting. The DBR Snake is one upper and one lower designed to
accept two barrels and each barrel has its own trigger system. That makes it totally legal
because each barrel is fire by its own individual trigger. The ATF says that a machine gun is a
rifle that fires more than one time by a single function of the trigger. Meaning that this rifle is one
hundred percent legal. These rifles are made in Israel and priced at $2299. While it may not be
practical it would be a lot of fun to shoot! And it is nice to see some out of the box thinking. Now
add a double tap trigger system to this rifle and you will have a blast literally!
Gun Tips
Care cleaning maintenance of a firearm is a must. For me an absolute Gun OCD Cleaning a
gun was fun and meant that I would learn something new if it was a gun that I had never taken
apart before, howevers enjoyable as it may be when I want to shoot I want to shoot not clean
guns and having a busy life it can be easy to put it aside, especially if you do not like doing it. So
I have dedicated a section to tips and tricks for easily keeping your gun in shape with less
hassle. There is nothing so aggravating as a dirty gun misfiring or having gunk buildup so bad
that you cannot load a shell in the chamber. If you have a tip or trick I would love to hear it. If
you are looking to find a tip on gun car that is not yet featured in this magazine you can email
me anytime.
Tip one: When cleaning a rifle it is important to get it done right the first time, a thorough
inspection afterward is needed. The hardest part of this inspection process is the barrel. Some
bolt action rifles you can easily take out the bolt of the rifle with no problem and look through the
barrel, however other bolt action and most other actions normally require complete disassembly.
Instead you can use a bore light, but if this is not available, you can use a brass cartridge or
even your thumb nail to catch the light into the bore, by angling it into the chamber and pointing
the chamber toward a light source whether that is the sun, a lamp , or a light.
Tip Two: Its bad enough to come home from hunting or being out with your favorite rifle to see
that it has gotten its first scratch, or path of bluing that has been worn of, but when you put it into
the safe or on the rack after humid weather and find a thin coating of rust forming on the metal
parts, there is nothing more disheartening. It's like finding mold in your home or a dent in your
new car. I remember I rifle that I had worked really hard on to rebuild. I put a new walnut stock
on it replaced some parts, put a mirror shine polish on it and blued it. I decided to go show my
friend, who was a neighboring rancher, what the finish results looked like. It had started to rain
but when I got back home I found only a few drops on it and quickly wiped them off. There
wasn’t any gun oil in the house so I simply placed the gun in the safe. The next week when I
pulled it out it had patches of rust on it. Quickly I steel wooled off the rust and applied oil.
However were the rust was there blued finish was brown. I was very disappointed and
aggravated to say the least. An easy way to keep oil around for oiling your gun is to, take a
clean cloth and apple oil to it. Place it in a jar and seal the jar with a lid. When you come in from
hunting quickly wipe your gun down with the cloth and replace it in the jar.
Gun of the month: The Ruger Precision rifle
As I turned the Page of the American rifleman to my favorite section, I found in front of me was
the new Ruger precision rifle. Ruger is one of my favorite gun manufacturers so I am always
excited to see the new guns that the come out with. It took a couple seconds for me to figure
out what I was looking at, but it had an adjustable stock , an almost tactical looking action with
the picatinny rail and a free floated barrel. Reading more I found that Ruger had been working in
this rifle to create an affordable long range target rifle. Today this rifle has become very popular
but there is some doubts about whether one really needs it or not. Asking themselves whether
it's really practical while others are raving fans. Luckily I was given the chance to shoot this rifle
by a relative. It was chambered in the 6.5 Creedmoor and wasn’t sighted in. All of the
adjustments take out the human error and within a few shots we got it sighted in. I have to say
that it was a lot of fun to shoot. Like I said with all of the rests and adjustments the human error
is practically taken out. It is very accurate and a comfortable gun to shoot. I do not believe that it
would make any kind of hunting rifle. One it is overkill, and two it is way too heavy for packing
around. However as far as bench rest target practicing and shooting is concerned it is a lot of
fun and if you are looking for a long range rifle to shoot for an affordable price I would
recommend it. It would be a lot of fun at the range of for competition shooting. I am super
excited to see what Ruger comes out with next.
History: Whitney Firearms
If the name Whitney sounds familiar to you, it should. Eli Whitney was the inventor of the famed
cotton jin. You should have learned him in school. If you didn’t I won't surprise me because I did
not learn about him until I was homeschooled. But even if you did learn about him you probably
did not know that after the cotton jin Eli Whitney started the Whitney firearms company. Eli
Whitney was born in Massachusetts and originally studied to practice law, but he fell short of
funds. Later he would Tudor until his pay was cut short and then he Invented the Cotton Jin.
Shortly after inventing this magnificent machine that could do more work than forty seven slaves
or workers with just two men running it. Unfortunately some northerners pirated it and Whitney
without significant funs lost the legal battle. So he used his genius and inventive brain to come
up with modern machinery to build firearms. He was the first gun manufacturer to used
modernize machinery to build guns. Whitney soon got a contract for ten thousand rifles from the
military. Most gun manufacturers could built about three hundred rifles a year but Whitney being
overwhelmed did not build more than five hundred in three years and finished the contract ten
years after that. While Whitney didn’t invent any significant firearm and was by far not the fastest
he did build a series of rifle that had interchangeable parts. All of the rifles prior to that were
hand built and each rifle in that sense was unique and if a part broken I would have to be
custom fit and built. This was very time consuming and expensive for than army. Whitney's rifles
were exact and pre made parts could be built for the rifles sot that a soldier could fix his gun in
the field. This was much cheaper and more efficient. When Eli died the company was ran by his
son Eli Whitney jr, who would take his father's equipment and built one thousand Colt walkers
for the Texas rangers. This massive 44 caliber revolver could kill a horse at one hundred yards.
The deal was both helpful to colt and Whitney. It broke Whitney into the Handgun manufacturing
business and gave Colt the capital he needed to get back on his feet. Whitney would later Sell
revolvers to the military using a revolving mechanism that was unique to colts until the Colt
patent ran out. Whitney would then adopt Colts revolving mechanism in 1857. Whitney firearms
was ultimately purchased by Winchester sixty years later.
