Tunisian pianist Omar El Quaer has created a body of work influenced by modern jazz
that is rich in Tunisian melodies, harmonies and rhythms. Omar El Quaer is a self-
taught pianist who obtained a national diploma of Arabic Music followed by an
immersion into jazz, studying with acclaimed Tunisian jazz guitarist Fawzi Chekili at the
Higher Institute of Music (conservatory) in Tunis, Tunisia. He continued his studies with
Louis Rassinfosse, Pierre Vaiana, Erik Vermulen and Ivan Pauduart as part of a
Belgian-Tunisian collaboration and has been involved in workshops with American jazz
artists hosted by the American Embassy in Tunisia.

AMBER includes six original compositions as well as 2 interpretations from the Jazz
Canon, Reflections by Thelonius Monk and Ana Maria by Wayne Shorter.
