Introduction:

We have our lives that we experience daily. Making mistakes, learning, unlearning and
relearning are essential ingredients for those who are growing. Sometime we question and use
our thinking abilities and sometime we are just getting from one pay check to another. It was the
way our parents and their parents did it. There is nothing to discuss because history and religion
shows that this pattern continuous in each generation. However today the world has been over
turned, the structure of age and old families’ money, path of obedience means all the things in
our lives have been changed totally. Human beings have totally failed to manage their life’s
responsibilities according to time. We have experienced a demonstration about time management
and this demonstration showed us how we can manage our priorities according to the preferences
of an individual.

Aim:

The aim of this report is to analyze the demonstration with the help of articles provided to us and
answer these questions according to the scenario.

Q1: Does the jar comprehensively represent life? If yes, give reason if not, what are the
reason?

Answer:

Yes I agree with it that the jar of life completely represents our life. This jar activity gives a
beautiful lesson and reminder of how important is to value the important things in life. Jar gives
demonstration about how to set our priorities and activities in whole life starting from daily
activities to complete life. In order to live a life we want to lead, we have to make room for
what’s important, so that the tiny moments of our life don’t overshadow our goals and dreams.
The jar of life gives a lesson about to live our life in proper defined and controlled manners. It
gives a sense to do right things at right time, and helps to understand what is most and least
important on our life cycle. If we understand the jar concept of time management and priorities,
there will be always room doing work and achieving our goals. We can achieve maximum goals
by setting some priorities according to value of our activity and goal. After understanding the life
jar I came at this point that main reason of people failure is that they understand the importance
of time and are not able to manage it properly. They don’t know what they are and what the
priorities of their lives are. They fill their life jar with activities that are worthless and left no
spaces to other activities, due to which they are able to do very less. So life jar tells us how to
manage our life “a limited time given by God Almighty to us”.

Q2. How would you like to measure life? Can you name your existing priorities by the
categories of golf balls, marbles, sand and water? Please see that you do not include your
desires and wishes and only focus on the past and present.

Answer 2.1:

We can easily measure a business by looking at the numbers, turnover, profit, costs employee
churn. There are four parameters to measure everything measurable in this world. One is
number, second is weight, third is length or distance and fourth is time. There are no universal
metrics to measure your life. So it’s up to every person to create their own way to measure where
they are in life. Some do that by looking at how much they earn compared to their peers. Some
look at how far they climbed the corporate ladder. Other measures themselves by how they look
and on the basis of things important for them.

I have studied the article of Life from the book LIFE. The meaning of this article is that we all
structure our lives by our mindsets and behaviors. The stage at where we lay called zone in the
article is defined by our own behaviors and activities. After studying that article the way I
measure my life changed totally. Know I measure my life on the basis of two major questions:

1. What I was on yesterday?


2. What I am today or how I am different from yesterday?

I think, these two questions cover all the aspects of life to measure it. Those are in every field of
our life like in our health, energy, work, relationships, happiness, finances, respect in society,
helping attitude, regrets. These two questions also follow the concept of life jar, that what are
least to most important for us and how our priorities are changing with the time.
2.2. Name your existing priorities by the categories of golf ball, marble, sand, water.

My priorities of yesterday, as if I categories my yesterday routine according to golf ball, marble,


sand and water to be putted in life jar of yesterday, my jar becomes as follows:

My golf ball or the most important priorities according the current situation of are first to stay
home to save the whole nation and according to downturn economic condition to help the under
privileged people of our society. The other golf balls are to complete my degree with good C
Gpa under this uncertain situation and have to make my assignment as required. After that the
second most important ones (marbles) were to manage diet and daily exercise and spend some
time with family. The priorities sand were use of social media, playing games and giving some
time to friends. The priorities come in category of water are all the other activities like listening
songs, giving my cars some service and other activities.

Q3. What would you like to change, the priorities or the proportion of time allocation or
both? Or start with something new, which you never did before. Name these, briefly
describe and re-assign the priorities.

In the current phase of life I first want to change my priorities and then set their time proportion.
According my observation I am currently in comfort zone of my life. I am not doing new things
on daily basis. So I would change my priorities first to start doing right things at right time. The
second reason to change my priorities and lifestyle is that in near future my status of life is
changing from student to a professional person. So I need to change my priorities and time
management to change my living style. The all I want do is for achieving my long term goals.
First I want to design my habit of thinking about myself or my performance in daily basis
activities and then to come up with a plane of new priorities and their time allocation.

Some priorities that I have assigned to myself are”


1. According to daily routine life my first golf ball priority is to go to bed at 12o’clock and
then wake up early in the morning. By waking up early I have more productive time to do
different things and it will be easy to meet my daily routine targets.
2. I want to change my daily exercise priority from second most important priority to first
golf ball priority. Because health should be most important thing for a human being as
health gives us energy, the more energetic we are the more works we can do. So doing
exercise daily is important for both physical and mental health.
3. The third thing I want is to be more productive and to increase my progress on daily
basis. This priority comes under marbles in my life jar.
4. Playing physical games instead of online indoor games is my third important priority
which comes under the sand category.
5. And the last priority or category of the jar contains some gupshup and other self-
curricular activities.

These all are the some activities or changes that I want to do in my daily life routine. These
things are also new for me and I am preparing myself to enter into new lifestyle.

Q4. . What would you like to add to this Demonstration? Any other change which you
would wish to add to this Assignment? Answer to this question may be added as
Recommendations.

Answer:

It is clear to everyone that this demonstration gives a real picture of human being lives. The
change I want to recommend in this demonstration is in the way this is presented to students that
don’t know about it. The students or most of the people do not know about themselves. So before
giving this demonstration there should be more exercises on life to make people understand there
life purpose. When you understand yourself you become able to work more perfectly on this
demonstration and after understanding this demonstration you will be able to learn quickly about
what is most important for you and what you have to do in first priority.
Conclusion:

Due to our busy life routines we are not able to divide our time with work and other responsibilities. We
are totally busy in our life and for our own ambitions of life and do not care for anything else. Sometimes
we forget about family, friends and we put things before them that are not much important from them. We
are doing wrong things at wrong time. In our life everything has its proper weightage. The demonstration
gives us a sense to understand and mange balance in our time and activities. According to this
demonstration, it is essential to recognize what elements are important in our life, even though if they are
objects, moments or people. I felt a big change in my thinking about daily routine and time management.
Furthermore, it made me to think more about my choices, because sometimes we prefer the easy way
without thinking about consequences that it would have.
