Abstract
This research attempts to gain helpful insights into the architectural design process of the
Rosario Regional Fishing Port Complex. It seeks to utilize evidence-based design in oder to
promote sustainable architecture into the built environment. Hence, creating a healthy, safe and
productive enviroment for the occupant, specificaly the fisherfolks. This process brings together
the designer and the end-users’ perspective. In which, a designer who is trained to anticipate
the utility of a building or urban space by considering how the end-user will perceive and behave
in the environment (Emo, Al-Sayed, & Varoudis, 2016). Herein, the use of technical tools,
analysis, and empirical models supports innovation in the design of built environment. This is a
notably important task to ensure the performance and sustainability of interface infrastructure
such as the Regional Fishing port Complex. The evidence-based design suggests that
interaction between people and the built environment should be the very essence of any design
approach. A theory that is further articulated in the man-environment paradigm. However, this
process introduces constraints and challenges within the method of procuring and the analysis
of data, both from primary and secondary mediums, which are discussed further in this study.
1. To determine the configuration of physical architectural elements for the fishing port
2. To understand the supposed activities of the fisherfolks that are needed to be supported
