Art is a case of study specifically concerned with human creativity and social existence. In this

case, I chose to pay a visit Brooklyn museum, metropolitan museum and national American

Indian museum and collected samples of two different arts as the subject of my work. Through

art values, virtues, norms, and culture has been transmitted from one generation to the other.

Several development aspects have been realized through the art collections at the museums in

different parts of the globe. Varying types of art convey a wide range of information depending

on the angle at which the groups associated with the art perceive its existence. This work will

take into consideration arts that associate in one way or the other with development among

different societies around the whole world. When conducting research at American museum of

natural history and metropolitan museum of arts I captured several arts with every piece of it

clearly visible that in the critical analysis they contain information pertaining aspects of

development and the details of the specified art collection.

The Statue of Queen Ankhness-Meryre II and her son, Pepy II is an Egyptian art when Pepy II

was crowned king at a tender age and his biological mother acted as advisor. The art expresses

her task, evoking native Egyptian pause of a lactating mother while nursing her child. Pepy is

shown as a young ruler rather than a mere child and instead of nursing him, the Empress holds

him caringly as he fastens her hand. Each fact and figure is viewed straight ahead and has its

own impression. The art presents a statue of a queen holding in her laps a figure of an emperor

on simply designed block seat appearing to be a throne. In one row and column, queen's feet and

left arm apparently broken and reassembled for clarity of every piece. In my opinion, this art

clearly communicates the aspect of motherhood and childhood. The Statue of Queen Ankhnes-

meryre II and Her Son, Pepy II, was created AD by Charles Edwin Wilbour Fund and gifted it to

Brooklyn Museum. He used Egyptian alabaster as the medium.

Art represent believes and facts about past events. The art designed late 17th century by Koko and

latter in 1999 it was sold to the metropolitan museum. The activities of twelve months of the year

actually display pieces of months in series typically illustrating ceremonies, activities that took

place throughout the year. At the Centre of the art, there are several structures clearly

distinguishable and contrasting colors. At the right top edge is a light blue surface which

probably represents a water body. Numerous crowds are also noticed in the art viewed as people

engaging in different activities probably painting and drawing but the perception is subject to

every viewer of the work. At some point in the tenth century the case became an occasion most

significant for secular art in Japan. The artist vividly depicts the monthly event integral to the

lives of Kyoto citizens.

Development is the transition process from stage to the other. The process entails learning and

adopting virtues, values, norms, and activities that the communities are exposed to most of the

time. As far as development is concerned, art plays a good role in connecting ancient activities to

the current lifestyle. It significantly helps many societies know about their past lifestyle and so

be able to adjust appropriately to fit the rapid changes occurring.

To consider social development, ancient artists have designed several activities that took place in

the ancient days such as ceremonies. Since every art in the museum holds certain details about

the art, therefore, it is easy to convince the viewer to take a close view, analyze every piece and

interpret it adequately. The art by Koko presents clearly people from Japanese engaging in a

range of activities together this, therefore, enable them to develop their social status and learn to

co-exist in peace and unity. The art by Rose presents a scenario where a mother takes care of her

child holding him protectively. The art signifies the art of caring and love.

From the arts described in my work, I found that the virtue of care and love is depicted in every

piece. How people live together and embrace the high standard of order. Do care and love

instilled in you? Every collection at the museum has its own facts and tales which can be drafted

and modified to fit the real-life situation. This art inspired me to love just like my mother brought

me up to be a reasonable being through several activities and conversation. Art should, therefore,

be a tool for reference and learning (Shirane, 2011).

Nowadays, arts have developed a great impact on society and individuals. In the current

generation with the rapid development in technology, communities are more used to technical

gadgets than exploring culture, norms, and ethical values. Therefore to enable human

development history has to be established and compare with the current activities involved in the

human development process so as to be able to design a strategy (Chang, 2012). Museums have a

lot of art collectors from all over the globe and are available to the public. From the view of the

artworks, it instills my sense of unity, the way people appear to be organized and each one is

engaged in a given activity.

people interacting with their teens, elders and the leaders played a vital role with the fact that

they are going be part of the community affairs and so have to develop a sense of integrity and

honest which then contributes to future fruitful leadership. The arts selected clearly convey the

message when the viewer critically examines it and interpret the activities taking place. You find

that leaders are holding ceremonies and involving children also, in that process they get informed

of political matters in the society. As presented in the art, it appeared to me that the political

structure in the group captured in the art is satisfying unlike the current political structure which

has got number of agendas unsolved and none is bothering about it, maybe the earlier political

system should be reviewed and necessary changes to be made to suit the current status quo of the

society.

Museums offer a special platform where art collection from all parts of the globe are sorted,

preserve, store and avail to the public. Arts varying from creative design, painting, drawing,

carving, and photography have specified fact and tales while others are subject to the viewer’s

interpretation (Onion, 2011). Viewers can interpret art in different ways without limitation

depending on the passion of the viewer. Therefore upon my conclusion, it is right to argue that

arts play an important role in the humanistic development process.
