Hardware installation
See the Panel PC Installation Reference.
Software installation
To install OS and the drivers, see the Panel PC Installation Reference.
The OS version is Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB.
The software installation for Experion Panel PC is embedded in the
Experion PKS Software Installation Package. For the minimum
software requirements of the Experion PKS Server installation, see the
section "Preparing for an Experion installation" in the Experion PKS
Software Installation User's Guide.
When installing the Experion PKS software, select the Node Type as
desired in the “Setup type of Node to install” step:

Chapter 4 - Configuring an Experion Panel PC
Prerequisites
n The Station software supporting the Experion Panel PC has been
installed.
n The Experion PKS Server has an available station license.
n Separate PanelStation_default.stb is installed in both folders:
l <install folder>
\Honeywell\Experion PKS\Client\System\R500\Theme
s folder
Where <install folder> is the location where Experion is
installed. For default installations this is C:\Program Files
(x86)
l <data folder>\Honeywell\Experion
PKS\Client\MenusAndToolbars folder
Where <data folder> is the location where Experion data is
stored. For default installations, <data folder> is
C:\ProgramData.
The C:\ProgramData and C:\Program Files (x86) folders
are system folders, which means that they are only visible if you
select the Show hidden files, folders, and drives option button in
the Folder Options dialog box. To change this setting in Windows
Explorer, click Organize > Folder and search options, and then
select the View tab.
The default.stn on the Panel HMI node types would have the
Toolbar file default to the PanelStation_default.stb.
n If you are migrating from a previous release of Experion and the
system uses custom .stb files, you have added any custom
toolbars, menus and keyboard shortcuts that you want to migrate,
to a copy of the preconfigured .stb file. For more information
about modifying copies of preconfigured .stb files, see “To modify
preconfigured toolbar (*.stb) files” in the migration guide relevant
to your system. For information about .stb files, see “Station setup
files” in the Server and Client Configuration Guide.

The most important active alarm from the alarm group or point
will be shown on the display group label. If an alarm group or
point is not associated with the display group, no alarm

6. If you want a specific display to be called up when the display
group is tapped, add the AssociatedDisplay attribute to the new
AssetLink element. To include parameters for the associated
display, you must use the & XML special character instead of

Diagnostic check
The Experion Panel PC is not responding at all to touch gestures.
Cause
The Experion Panel PC may not be correctly configured in Windows.
Solution
Ensure that the Experion Panel PC has been correctly configured in
Windows. For more information, see the following procedures in
“Connecting the Experion Panel PC”:
Cause

not have been saved.
Solution
Add the display links to the Favorites menu so that they will be saved
when you exit Station.
Cause
There may be formatting errors in the display link definition file.
Solution
Validate the display link definition file. For information about how to
do this, see “Configuring the Experion Panel PC display links.”
41
Chapter 9 - Troubleshooting an Experion Panel PC
Cause
The Disable Server handling of SP/OP keys feature is not supported by
the Experion Panel PC.
Solution
Use faceplates in the Station Control Pane to manipulate the selected
point parameters.
Cause
The on-screen keyboard retains its last used location.
Solution
Move the on-screen keyboard to another location. This location will
be retained next time you access the on-screen keyboard.
42
Chapter 9 - Troubleshooting an Experion Panel PC
Cause
The default setting of the screen scaling is more than 100%.
