About this ReadMe

This document contains important information about Wonderware® Intelligence 2017 (v3.0). Review this document for
Product enhancements and new features, system requirements and compatibility, resolved issues and known issues in this
version and changes, if any, to the Intelligence software documentation included on this CD.

Release Summary
With the release of Wonderware Intelligence 2017 (v3.0), the following list of new features and enhancements are introduced.
Web based Mode Builder. The configuration environment is new and entirely independent of the ArchestrA IDE and
Galaxy repository. You do not require the ArchestrA IDE and Galaxy repository for Intelligence model authoring.
Introduction of the Model Explorer allows you to have an overview of your entire model and related objects.
Better protection on model integrity, relational integrity between model components to protect the overall functionality.
Capability to deploy an object and its dependencies. In a parent concept: measure to dimension (and linked dimensions
if applicable) to data sources. You can deploy the objects individually or can deploy all the objects at the same time.
Object deployment occurs in the logical dependency order. For example, if Dimension A has a link to Dimension B, the
deployment order will Dimension B first, then Dimension A.
Capability to export an object and its dependencies (similar concept as for deploy). You can use the Export all options to
export all the objects at the same time.
Secure browser communications via HTTPS enforcement for Model Builder and underlying Application Programming
Interface (API). Model Builder access is protected with Windows security group.
Latest OEM Tableau components, version 10.4.

Limitations for this release(an update soon after this release will resolve some of the
limitations below):
No support for upgrade/migration from previous versions of Wonderware Intelligence (and also no co-existence with a
previous version).
No support for Oracle, Wonderware eDNA, and OSIsoft Pi data adapters.
Advanced Calculations on measure is not available.
Supports only the Chrome browser.
No enforcement of multi-user editing (no check-out / check-in or locking of objects for editing), only a single user can edit
and operate the model at a time.
Intelligence Model Deployment utility (IMD) not available.

System Requirements and Product Compatibility

For important information about Wonderware Intelligence 2017 product release, go to the Schneider Electric Software Global
Customer Support (GCS) web site. Information on the GCS web site includes product requirements, compatibility, system
requirements to install the Wonderware Intelligence software. You need to have a valid credentials to access the site. You can
search for the information by product name and the release/version.

Licensing
Wonderware Intelligence Licensing
This release of Wonderware Intelligence enforces licensing through the new Schneider Electric Licensing system for the
Intelligence Runtime and Dashboard Server concurrent licensing services.
For more information regarding Licensing, see the Schneider Electric License Server Guide available at the following location in
the system where Schneider Electric Licensing is installed: All Programs -> Schneider Electric -> Schneider Electric
License Manager User Guide.

NOTE: Make sure that you have a new license to install the Wonderware Intelligence software. Licenses for prior versions of
Wonderware Intelligence will not work for Wonderware Intelligence 2017 (v3.0) release.

Tableau Components Licensing

The Analytics Client (Tableau Desktop) and Dashboard Server (Tableau Server) versions shipped with Wonderware Intelligence
are allowed to access data only from the Wonderware Intelligence data store and data sources used in the Intelligence model
(Drill-down scenario for example). Using the Analytics Client outside of those boundaries is a violation of the license agreement.
The Wonderware Intelligence software enforces licensing for the Analytics Client through license keys provided by
Wonderware, on your license certificate. When you first start the Analytics Client, a software activation window prompts you to
enter the license key. The same applies for the Dashboard Server.

NOTE: If you already have permanent activation codes for Tableau software, the same activation codes can be used with
Tableau 10.4 shipped with Intelligence 2017 as long as you have a valid Customer First subscription for Wonderware
Intelligence.

Resolved Issues
This section describes the resolved issues.

Issue Number Description

Measure is not getting updated in the Intelligence database when a value within Modification Period
L00144870 gets updated in the Source database. The issue was due to the event start and end time that was
not picking up correctly in some environment resulting in the value not getting updated.

Measure backfill does not aggregate the Calculation field correctly after data have been inserted
L00144358 /
and updated using the modification period. This issue is happening on two data rows where the
L00144554
period field timestamp is exactly same.

Foreign key for Dimension is updated as 0 in the Measure table as the Dimension's Time
L00144595 /
Reference field value was stored in UTC in the data source which resulted in exclusion of or mark
L00144498
the dimension as obsolete.

The TDD is not getting updated properly when an incremental update is enabled. As a result of this,
data displays a double value in the data store. The issue is happening at the reprocessing stage,
L00142721
where the TDD - Process Order end time is changed and the reprocessing is not being triggered on
the same.

Ghost record with a wrong Measure period in the Measure table. The issue is resolved by fixing the
L00142876
UTC date-time conversion in the Intelligence Runtime.

5/14/2020 Wonderware Intelligence 2017 (v3.0) Readme
L00141808 / [[RequestedStartTime]] and [[RequestedEndTime]] filter is not calculating daylight saving time
L00141671 / resulting in wrong Measure calculation.
L00143098

L00144505 / "Invalid value for wwTimeZone" error appears when using [[RequestedStartTime]] and
L00144385 [[RequestedEndTime]] filter in Japanese OS and French OS.

TDDs Measure Reprocess issue resulting in loss of data. This is because of getting the start time
L00142331 /
for Measure with TDD/ContextLink. The measure refresh start time was set to last context date.
L00143085
This is a problem when the last context date falls into the last update period.

In the Wonderware Intelligence Dashboard Licensing, the following error appears: " User doesn't
exists in Tableau Server 'username' even when the User is already present. This issue happens
L00144651
when you have a user more than 100 users and the requested user is not listed in the first 100
users.

When you run the Configurator for Concurrent Licensing, it does not allow you to use HTTPS Mode.
L00144793
This issue is resolved and the concurrent licensing related components now supports SSL.

Known Issues
The following table lists the known issues, listed by their change request number.

Issue Number Description

Measure records will get a valid context reference only when both the dimension key field's data type and
measure source field's data type in the measure relation are the same. If they are not of the same data type,
L00108588
then 0 (meaning no matching record found) is assigned as the context reference for the measure record.
This issue mainly occurs when you are using any numeric data type as a key dimension field.

If you connect to an incorrect Wonderware Historian in the Data Source and then try to connect to the correct
Wonderware Historian, the logger continuously logs warning messages that it is still unable to connect to the
L00136275 incorrect Historian.
Workaround: You must restart the Wonderware Intelligence Data Adapter service to stop the warning
messages in the SMC logger.

If a measure is undeployed while it is busy processing calculation, the following errors/warnings will be
L00136325 returned in the SMC logger: "ExecuteMeasureBackfill() failed unexpectedly. Retry measure backfill Measure
[name of measure]." You can ignore these messages.
