Assuming you are a manager in a company, and you face real world problem,

what will be usual decision-making process that you might follow in order to
make the right decision.
While contemplating what management is about preparing, budgeting, scheduling,
hiring, managing, problem-solving, and so on it's obvious that decision-making is an
important management ability each of these management tasks requires specific kinds
of decision-making. A strong starting point is to get a common idea about what allows
for a successful judgment on the board. It is necessary then to look closely at the
mechanism involved in making successful decisions. And good decision-making also
requires choosing and implementing suitable methods, and becoming mindful of
when each may be helpful.
Good management decision-making is: effective in fulfilling its objective – in the
longer term; accountable in that the decision-makers have behaved in compliance
with their assigned responsibilities; rigorous in that a reasonable decision-making
mechanism has been used; defensible in that it may be clarified the reason for the
decision; Included in that were discussed citizens who would be influenced by the
judgment. Although the material variable is special to every decision, the following
process measures should be included in every decision irrespective of whether it is
basic or complex:
Identifying who has the decision-making authority; identifying who will be included
in the decision-making phase and why; gathering the best decision-making material
(data facts and knowledge) from relevant outlets, including consulting where
necessary; reviewing the material and creating options; Effective assessment of
options; decision taking by selecting the right option; decision communication;
decision implementation; and analysis of decision results. Through 'scenario
preparation' to 'decision trees' and through 'brainstorming' to 'force-field research'
each will make a significant contribution to the efficacy of management decision-
making. But, as with all the products, finding the best tool for the job is crucial and
not requiring a tool to do what it has never been planned for. For instance,
'brainstorming' may be a perfect way to create fresh concepts and tap into the
imagination of a community. Brainstorming can help to generate more evaluation
options. Yet brainstorming is not adequate ground for the final judgment. At the other
side, De-Bono's 'six thought caps' may be helpful later in the decision-making cycle to
guarantee that certain facets of a choice have been discussed.
