After I learned the material about "understanding of pragmatics", I learned what pragmatics is.

Pragmatics is the study of words and their meaning in a language with concern for the context or
contextual meaning. Additionally focuses on the meaning of words according to the context and their
inferred meanings as well. If in semantics studies the literal meaning, then in pragmatics studies the
intended or the inferred meaning as well.

After I studied the material about "Deixis", I learned that deixis is an important aspect when it comes to
meaning in semantics and pragmatics. Deixis means knowing the meaning of words and phrases in an
utterance. Besides, deixis also relates to the context of the utterance, like the speaker, the time, and the
place of speaking. They are 3 types of deixis: person deixis, spatial deixis (place), and temporal deixis
(time).

After I studied the material about "Presupposition and Entailment", I learned that presupposition is
someone's prejudice or estimation to be true in a sentence which asserts other information to make an
utterance. Meanwhile, entailment is a term derived from formal logic and follow from what is asserted
in the utterance. Although I have studied this material, I am still often confused about the difference
between presupposition and entailment.

After I learned about the "Speech Act" I learned that speech acts are utterances spoken by the speaker
during the communication process and have an effect on the listener. There are three types of acts in
the speech, they are locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary. This speech can be in the form of
requests, warnings, promises, apologies, greetings, or a number of declarations.

After I learned the material about "Politeness", I learned that politeness is a very important principle in
language use and communication. It can be defined as a means to show awareness of another person's
face. Politeness involves how one can make others feel more pleasant. Politeness also means a way to
establish and maintain feelings of community within the social group. There are four kinds of politeness
strategies proposed by Brown and Levinson, they are bald on record, positive politeness, negative
politeness, and off record.

Pragmatics has a significant relationship to the context and situation in a language. So, I want to
remember about the definition of pragmatics and the several types of context in pragmatic. There are
four types of contexts in pragmatics, they are: physical context, linguistic context, social context, and
epistemic context. I must be able to understand the whole material about pragmatic well.

After I studied the material about "Deixis", I learned that there are three types of deixis namely personal
deixis, spatial deixis (place), and temporal deixis (time). However, after I searched from several other
reference sources that there are five types of deixis namely personal deixis, spatial deixis, temporal
deixis, social deixis, and discourse deixis. So I want to remember about the five types of deixis.

One of the principal difficulties that one faces when dealing with aspects of language is how to
distinguish between entailment and presupposition. Although I have studied material about
"presupposition and entailment", I am still difficult to distinguish. Therefore I want to remember how to
distinguish between entailment and presupposition.
In the material about "Speech act", I want to remember about the three types in speech act. Not only
that, I also want to remember about classifications in speech acts such as declarative, representative,
directive, commissive and others.

I want to remember about politeness strategies. There are four strategies, namely bald on record,
positive politeness, negative politeness, and off record. I must be able to master this material because
being polite means being aware of and respecting the feelings of other people. Politeness can and will
improve our relationship with others, help to build respect, and improve our communication skills
