Lesson of Tuesday 3rd December, Period 1

Dystopian Dodgeball

What did I learn?

I learnt that I hate all dystopian government structures.
It is unfair and I feel targeted. People were going for me
and only me in groups and I felt upset that they were
ganging up on me.

What could be improved?

I think that the adaptions need to be changed to better
help the health and safety of people. This should prevent
me getting hurt.

How did I feel being placed in each of the government

systems? I felt s**t. I felt that I was being targeted and
did not enjoy that form of learning. I would much prefer
class time as it was helping me make friendships and now,
they are getting all s**tty with me has taken
relationships a step back with many people. I dislike Miss
Bellizia’s style of teaching after this and feel it has
damaged my improvements socially.

Pastiche Writing

What is pastiche writing?

A pastiche is a literary piece that imitates a famous
literary work by another writer. Unlike parody, its
purpose is not to mock, but to honour the literary piece
it imitates. This literary device is generally employed to
imitate a piece of literary work light-heartedly, but in a
respectful manner.

Transform a character from male to female
How will that affect dialogue and action?
Or turn a villain in to a hero by making the fewest
changes possible.
Can your character be a villain or hero by actions alone,
without talking or looking like one?
What’s the least you can do to avoid inconsistency?
How do these changes affect the meaning of the story?

4. Point of view
Rewrite a scene in a story from the point of view of
another character.
Or change a scene by adding senses other than sight and
hearing.

5. Dialogue
Take a scene in a novel or play and change the level or
mode of language: how would the characters speak if they
were from another region or social class?
Think: What if Katniss was from the Capitol?
