1 What is a HCAI?
A Huawei Certified Academy Instructor, hereafter referred to as HCAI, refers to those who have obtained
the relevant Huawei Career Certification and certificates, passed the simulative lectures, and passed the lab
exams of one or multiple Huawei Career certification programs, and as such is entitled to deliver relevant
HAINA courses as part of an authorized educational institute. A HCAI is strictly associated with only one
Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA), meaning that the HCAI status of an
individual is only valid when it is bound to a HAINA.
To become an HCAI, you need to:
 Get a Huawei Career Certification certificate.
For details on how to obtain a Huawei Career Certification certificate, see section 2.3 "Take Huawei
Career Certification exam." For example, the required score for the Huawei Certification for routing
and switching is 600 but if you want to obtain an HCAI certificate for routing and switching, your
score must reach at least 850.
Fast track exams for Huawei Career Certification are also available if one already holds other vendor
equivalent career certifications.
 Pass the simulative lecture.

You must give a simulative lecture. Professional Huawei lecturers will evaluate and score your
lecture with respect to the following:
− On-the-spot performance
− Knowledge explanation
− Q&A
 Pass the lab exam.

You must complete the lab commissioning and generate a report based on the lab questions in the
required testing period.
2 How to become a HCAI

2.1 Learning Huawei Certification Knowledge
2.1.1 Access Free Course Materials and Get Online Course Rights
If you are a university lecturer, you can visit our website to take Huawei technical courses. To obtain free
course materials and courses by perform the following steps:
1. Visit http://learning.huawei.com/en and click Academy in the Enterprises area, as shown in Figure
2-1.

2. Register with the website if this is your first time to visit the website. After registration, you can click
the TRAINING menu to view public information.
3. Fill in the application form (see Table 2-1) and send it to learning@huawei.com. If the information in
the application form that you have sent is correct, you will be granted the rights to obtain free course
materials and to access online courses within three working days.

4. To download course materials, visit http://learning.huawei.com/en, click Academy in the Enterprises

area. In the navigation tree on the left of the page that is displayed, choose Instructor’s Zone >
Course Material, as shown in Figure 2-2.

5. Download the required course material packages. The packages contain training slides, lab guides, and
timetable.
The material packages are updated periodically based on product and technology changes.
2.1.2 Downloading the Free eNSP (for HCNA/HCNP- R&S)

Visit http://learning.huawei.com/en and click Go to the website in the Enterprises area. On the page that
is displayed, click the eNSP icon, as shown in Figure 2-3. On the eNSP page that is displayed, download
the required Enterprise Network Simulation Platform (eNSP) software.

2.1.3 Learning a Course Online

Visit http://learning.huawei.com/en and click Huawei Certification in the Enterprises area. On the page
that is displayed, click a required course, such as HCNA. The HCNA page is displayed, as shown in Figure
2-4. In the Related Links area, you can click a link to view its details, as shown in Figure 2-5.

Click Huawei Networking Technology and Device Training HCNA Certification under Start, as shown
in Figure 2-6.
The page for registering the course is displayed, as shown in Figure 2-7.
Click Register, select the required courses, and click Submit, as shown in Figure 2-8.
On the Training Details page that is displayed, select a course to start, as shown in Figure 2-9.

2.2 Taking Classroom Training or LVC Open Classes

1. Huawei provides free training sessions for two instructors of each HAINA.
2. You can take open classes (charged or free of charge) held by Huawei authorized learning partners.

3. You can also take the Live Virtual Class (LVC) open classes that are held periodically. To query the
LVC online curriculum plan, visit http://learning.huawei.com/en, click Go to the website in the
Enterprises area. On the page that is displayed, click Live Virtual Class(LVC), as shown in Figure
2-10.

Click LVC User manual and install the LVC plug-in by following instructions in the LVC User manual. If
this is your first time to take part in an LVC open class, you can click More to find more details.

2.3 Take Huawei Career Certification exam

After finishing the required online course learning and practice, you can take the exam to achieve the
Huawei Career Certification.
1. Click Career Certification, select the corresponding course, and click the exam outline link to learn
about the career certification categories and their description. Then you can select to view the course
online or to related trainings based on your needs.
2. Click the mock exam link and take the mock exam to get familiar with the question style and difficulty
of the exam, as shown in Figure 2-122.

3. Click the procedure link to learn about the exam reservation service and exam service provided by the
third-party testing company.
4. Obtain exam vouchers.
You can contact your university contact person to obtain the free exam tickets. Huawei provides two
instructors with free exam tickets for each university.
5. Use the exam vouchers to reserve and take the exam. The exam result will be displayed on your screen
as soon as you submit your exam paper. If you pass the exam, visit http://support.huawei.com/learning
after three working days to apply for a certificate. After login, click Apply for Certificate, as shown
in Figure 2-13. On the page that is displayed, select the certification type and enter your personal
information. Huawei will send an electronic certificate to you through an email within seven working
days. At the same time, the certification number can be queried online.

2.4 Take Huawei Certified Academy Instructor exam

After passing the career certification exam, you need to take two further steps to complete the HCAI exam.
1) Pass the simulative lecture.
You must give a simulative lecture. Professional Huawei lecturers will evaluate and score your
lecture with respect to the following:
− On-the-spot performance
− Knowledge explanation
− Q&A
2) Pass the lab exam.
You must complete the lab commissioning and generate a report based on the lab questions in the
required testing period.
Both the above two exams will be carried out by Huawei Certification Instructor proctors. These exams are
available in HQ (with remote interview possibilities), and locally available in some regions. For details,
please contact the Huawei training service manager in charge of your HAINA.
After finishing the simulative lecture and lab exam, you will receive your transcript sent from
learning@huawei.com. If you pass the simulative lecture and lab exam, you can apply for the HCSI
certificate. Send your personal information (full name and registered email address), career certification
score, lab exam score, and simulative score to learning@huawei.com. If the information that you send is
correct, Huawei will send to you your candidate number and registration number for you to apply for the
certificate within three working days.
Visit http://learning.huawei.com/en and click Academy. In the navigation tree on the left of the page that is
displayed, choose Huawei certification > Apply for Certificate. Set Certificate Type to Instructor
Certification, Level/Role to HCNA Academy Instructor, and Certificate Name to HCNA (HCDA)
Academy Instructor, as shown in Figure 2-14.

3 Enhancing Your Capabilities

3.1 Taking Free LVC Open Classes
Huawei periodically issues the half-year LVC open class schedule, including Huawei certification courses
and new technology courses. The LVC open courses are held periodically, free of charge. You need to take

the courses online. Courses are presented by Huawei instructors. For details about the curriculum and
participation method, see the course list and LVC user manual on the website.
3.2 Learning Other Technical Courses

HCSIs have access rights to almost all the online courses. You can learn other technical courses based on
your needs. For example, if you are an HCSI for routing and switching, you can continue to take online
courses or training sessions in other fields such as security or WLAN.
4 Organizing Classes and Exams

4.1 Downloading Marketing Materials
Our website also provides a variety of marketing materials in the Network Academy area, as shown in
Figure 4-1.

4.2 Organizing Training

Before organizing training, note the following:
1. Work out a teaching plan. You can use the term plan (such as 64 hours for a term) or the weekend plan
(full day at weekends). The recommended course timetable and schedule are provided in the course
material package. For details about how to obtain the course material package, see section 2.1.1
"Access Free Course Materials and Get Online Course Rights." You can modify, add, or delete the
course content based on trainees' requirements. It is recommended that less than 30% of the course
timetable be modified.
2. Guide the trainees to use the electronic training materials or print the training materials for trainees.
Ensure that the printed training materials are not distributed for unauthorized commercial use.
3. After the training, upload trainee information to our website so that the trainees can obtain the rights to
access online courses using corresponding certificates.
(a) Before or during the training, guide the trainees to register the learning accounts.
(b) After the training, fill in and upload the trainee information table. (You can choose Network
Academy > Operational Support > HAINA Info and download the trainee information template,
as shown in Figure 4-2.)

(c) Guide trainees to associate their Huawei Certification certificates with their personal information.
The procedure is as follows: Log in to the website and click My space. On the page that is
displayed, click Associate Training/Test/Certificate, as shown in Figure 4-3. Then enter the email
address and verification code and click Submit, as shown in Figure 4-4.

4.3 Guiding Trainees to Obtain Huawei Career Certification

Certificates
After finishing their training, trainees can take the certification exams to obtain the certificates. They can
also send emails to learning@huawei.com to apply for the rights to access more free online courses. Use
"Huawei Career Certification Trainee E-Learning Rights Application" as the subject of your email for easy
recognition. For details, see instructions under Help & FAQ > Website FAQ > Rights Application.
