Deans Committee held on 04.06.2020

Item No.1 TERMINATION OF CURRENT SPRING SEMESTER, 2019-20 AND


COMMENCEMENT OF SUMMER SESSION, 2019-20/WINTER
SEMESTER, 2020-21
The Deans Committee was informed that on its recommendations made at its

meeting held on 24th April, 2020 regarding commencement of final examinations of Spring

Semester, 2019-20 at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the Academic Council at its meeting

held on 12.05.2020 approved the following tentative teaching schedule for residual period of

Academic Session, 2019-20 and commencement of next session, 2020-21, to be observed at all

the Campuses of the University.

SPRING SEMESTER, 2019-20

i. Commenced from 14.01.2020


ii. Commencement of final examinations from 15.06.2020
iii. Termination of Semester 25.06.2020

(The On-line results of final Examinations should reach in the office of the Controller of
Examinations within ten days from conduct of examination positively. The signed hard
copy of the same should also be sent for record. On the expiry of said date the result, if
pending, will be entertained by the concerned office after due permission of the Vice
Chancellor)

The Academic Council authorized the Vice Chancellor to change the above schedule

keeping in view the lockdown scenario and directions of the Government during Covid-19.

The Academic Council desired that Incharge IT Resource Center and Data Bank

will upload the E-30 form on University website to facilitate the students who want to appear in

written comprehensive and thesis examinations. The concerned student shall submit the same to

his/her supervisor through online and the supervisor shall further process.

The Academic Council noted that the practical courses at undergraduate and

postgraduate levels are the integral part of examinations. In the present scenario it is not possible

to conduct the practical trial at the campus. The Academic Council directed the faculty to prepare

the instructions for practicals in the shape of lecture and upload the same on YouTube as it will be

helpful for the students during practical examinations.

The Deans’ Committee after holding detailed discussion decided that:-

i. The IT Resource Center and Databank will make arrangements for training
of faculty to conduct online exams of the students through LMS.
ii. The trainings will be arranged in Iqbal Auditorium maintaining social
distance in daily two sessions. The faculty wise training schedule is as
under:-

iii. The online mid-term exams will be conducted from 12 – 19 June, 2020.

iv. The online practical and final exams will be conducted from 22nd June to

10th July, 2020.

v. The exams of those students who are in final semesters will be given priority

so that they can enroll in next degree/summer session.

vi. The results will be submitted to the office of Controller of Examinations

upto 20th July, 2020.

vii. The date sheets of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs will be

prepared by the Dean and Chairman concerned to ease out the IT Resource

Center and Databank

viii. The enrollment of Summer Session will be started from 21st July, 2020.

ix. The Deans’ Committee desired that the Director Graduate Studies may

propose amendment in Regulation regarding submission of semi-final

theses due to COVID-19, if needed.
