RE : ISSUANCE OF COVID-19 TEST RESULTS


With references to the request letter being required in retrieving Covid 19 test results, this memorandum is drafted
to inform all concerned departments that the COVID-19 Task Force and Infection Control Committee are not
imposing the said requisition letter as a requirement thereof in retrieving test results.

In line with our commitment to uphold Privacy of our patients and healthcare workers, the protection and
confidentiality of each personal data are our ultimate concerns. We also understand and fully laud the Privacy
Guidelines on the Processing and Disclosure of COVID-19 Related Data for Disease Surveillance and Response as
stated in the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2020-0002 issued by the Department of Health and the National
Privacy Commission dated April 24,2020.

Thus, we emphasize the Right to Information of every patient / staff on his or her own RT – PCR result and to all of
his/her laboratory and medical information, communication and records. Such shall not be claimed by anyone
without his or her permission except those stated in the DOH and National Privacy Guidelines during this pandemic.

Preparedness for this COVID-19 pandemic requires a long tail of continuous process reviews, refinements and
revisions. For further clarification, we will greatly appreciate if you will directly relay your concerns regarding COVID
19 test results to the Office of the Infection Control Committee and to the Department of Laboratory Medicine.
