 LEVEL    WRITING  SAMPLE    

You have to write the two compositions and should allow about 120 minutes for this part of the
exam. Please make sure that you follow closely the instructions for each task and use
appropriate language. Remember that good use of vocabulary and structures as well as
correctness will be taken into account.

WRITING  1  

Write   a   250-­‐word   article   to   be   published   in   a   well-­‐known   newspaper   warning   the   public   about   the  
seriousness  of  climate  change  and  the  dangers  of  ignoring  it.  Do  not  forget  to  end  your  article  with  a  
convincing  conclusion.  

 
WRITING  2  

Write  a  200-­‐word  formal  letter  of  complaint  to  a  shop  where  you  bought  a  technological  device  that  
turned  out  to  be  defective.  Explain  the  problem  as  clearly  as  possible  and  make  a  forceful  claim.
