ECONOMIC ASPECT

Many countries, including Philippines, have been experiencing economic

difficulties because of the existing pandemic called Covid-19. This crisis makes Jollibee
vulnerable to different economic factors such as government regulations, high unemployment
rate, and exchange rate.

With the current situation, the government have imposed certain regulations that
limit the transportation activities. Although there is a continuous movement for basic
necessities, delays can still be encountered due to strict guidelines for the enhanced
community quarantine imposed by the Philippine government to contain the spread of the
Covid-19 which will hold the supplies needed by Jollibee to produce its meals. In addition,
there is a decrease in sales of Jollibee because residents in some areas of the Philippines are
prohibited from going outside and most daily wage earners have lost their jobs which
contribute in the increase of unemployment rate. Moreover, exchange rate can also influence
the status of Jollibee because it has branches located in other countries like Italy, Middle
East, and Hongkong. This would have an impact on the profitability and expansion of the
business.

Overall, the economic condition of a certain country can affect the growth and
stability of a certain business. The existing crisis can brought risk to Jollibee because there
will be unwanted changes for sales contributing to possible loss in the present time.
