Name of Lesson: Multiplication Table in GoogleDocs
Grade Level Appropriateness: 5th Grade
Technology Content Standard Addressed: Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and
Decision Making: Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research,
manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate
digital tools and resources.
Other Content Standard Addressed: Creativity and Innovation: Students
demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative
products and processes using technology.
Objective: Students will create their own multiplication table using a software tool
such as GoogleDocs or Microsoft Word, and etc. The student will understand the
process of creating a table. Pick any number between 2-12 to create a multiplication
table.
Materials: iPad, Laptop or desktop computer. Any hardware device that will allow
the student to access Microsoft Word or Google Docs and printer to print their very
own multiplication table.
Suggested Group Size: Students will work individually.
Procedures: 1. On your device go to Google Drive and open Docs. 2. Click insert
which will be located at the top between format and view. Then click the table. Make
sure it’s a 3x4 table. Choose how many rows and columns you want to add, since we
will be multiplying up to 12, your table should include 12 squares. 3. Move the cursor
to adjust the sizing of the squares. It should look like an actual multiplication table or
similar to the squares having almost the same lengths and widths. I WILL MOSTLY
BE GRADING ON THIS!! 4. Next, to add a horizontal line go to insert again and click
on horizontal line.
Assessment: Grading on how similar the length and width measurement of the
squares. Align the numbers on the square properly.
