Description of how to implement in the class:
Have students go to desmos.com and launch calculator. Have students input the Trig
Functions. Share worksheet (Google Doc Form) walking students through the
exploration and evaluation of the Trig Function graphs by using the slider tools. Have
students work collaboratively and discuss/report answers on the Shared Google Doc
work Sheet. Student can access both the graphs and discussion from home after
class for studying.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): This hits mostly Level 4: Students
are using technology, Students are creating and evaluating the graphs of the trig
functions. The model has multiple results, the teacher is a guiding. The students can
choose different variables and see how they affect the shape of the graphs. The
results will help the students understand how different values effect the graph in
different ways.
Description of the sample spreadsheet and graph/chart provided *: Below
you will find a pdf document with graphs of the Trigonometric Functions, and a link to
the graph where values may be manipulated.
Other comments about your proposed spreadsheet/graph/chart activity:
Students may use Desmos as a study tool for learning about graphing many other
types of functions as well.
