Proposal for a new partnership project in Tunisia Project Structure


The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
is using a Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation in order to support
German, European and African companies and investors in their business activities
in Africa. sequa gGmbH is a globally operating non-profit development organization
and partner of the German private sector. With sequa's "PartnerAfrica" program,
German business associations and chambers (of commerce, trade, industry) can
become part of the Special Initiative and propose and implement partnership
projects financed by the BMZ.

The German Euro-Mediterranean-Arab Association (EMA) e.V. is proposing a


project to strengthen the competitiveness of the Tunisian IT sector. The project fact
finding mission in June 2020 is aimed at identifying new project partners and
concretizing the project idea.

Project idea Project key facts

Digitization and digital transformation offer potential for creating employment and Project duration
income through increased competitiveness of enterprises. The planned project is to ca. September/October 2020 – December 2023
focus on capacity development of local chambers and associations in order to
strengthen them in their role as service providers and to promote the digitization of Project objective
companies and the qualification of IT specialists. By strengthening local project partners (associations, chambers, educational
institutions), the future viability of the ICT sector and framework conditions for
digitization of businesses and public administration is ensured.
