“Who Moved My Cheese?

We constantly deal with unexpected changes in our lives, be it in our career or

relationship. It’s especially hard to move on to a new path when you are already
settled with your present situation.

This story gives us a amazing way to deal with change in your work and in your
life.

1. What does the maze represent?

The maze represents where you spend your time looking for what you want.

As in the story, sniff and scurry just moved when there was no cheese. Whereas,
both Hem and Haw were in the Station C.

However, Haw changed his mind unlike Hem and was able to reach Station N.

It’s basically, where you look for what you want to have in.
2. Identify both the cheese and the maze in your own life.

Cheese in my life is to be an entrepreneur (small or big).

The Maze is, well, as of now it is to get all I can from Christ university
to reach my Cheese.

3. What changes have you already experienced in your life?

A few changes that have occurred in my life are leaving my childhood town
where I was living there from 25 years, right from my nursery.
Another Change that came into my life was, when I went on to my site job
after graduating from college, which was almost like the same way like the
cheese got over at Station C.
I had to work there in site for 24hrs (day and night shift) twice or thrice a
week, if not 24hrs. almost for 13-14 hrs. daily which was common for all.
I didn’t expect that to come, perhaps I should have also smelled the cheese
before.
I took a lot of time to accept that this was my new change just like haw, and
started to believe that I might get extinct if I don’t change.
4. Has Johnson's book helped you see how change can be beneficial.
a. in life in general,
b. as well as in your own work or
c. personal life?

Yes, this book has definitely helped me to realize that I always thought or
wanted to be in my own comfort zone. I have come to the reality that
nothing in this life is going to be permanent: everything just keeps on
changing. I just needed to accept the change and adapt it. I also need to
come out of my fear, as the story tells us ‘the fear you build up inside in
your mind is worse than the situation that actually exists’. I need to just
stop overanalyzing and overthinking.
We have a choice to accept things that life throws at us every day, or to be
like Hem and wait, hoping things will go back to the way they were, which
DOES NOT happen too often!
