The English phrases included are selected for their directness, brevity, and relevance to the needs of newly-arrived residents. Most are Presented in the form of two-line dialogues. Following these units a List of useful words provides additional terms that are most frequently needed. A map of the United States locating all states and major cities is also included. Each unit supplies phrases written in English with parallel Farsi translations.
