GENERAL Elllxample: How many poems are you gonna read, order of the poems by
ATMOSPHERE / title and brief description of the general atmosphere.
STRUCTURE:
I will read four poems in the following order :
-Poem1 : Reservaatti
- Poem 2: Itsensä synnyttämisestä
- Poem 3 Nilviäiset pysyttelevät taustalla
- Poem 4: Paljoudet
-Poem 5: Keuhkotyöläiset

General atmosphere :
My writing is a reflection into the complex association between
defeat, progress, and survival. Depression is a major factor in my
life in exile, it further sharpens the experience of being on the edge,
but also feeling numb until some unexpected gush of energy arrives
to free what can be freed. These endless defeats followed by small
victories over psychic injuries have redefined the meaning of things
and life around me. I now think that my battle is all about
continuing, keeping thing going even when there is no ground
under my feet.

CLUE WORDS: Example: Dark, Sad, Electric, Awakening, Battle...

- Poem1: acceptance of pain, hope as determination, difficult hope
- Poem 2 : uncertainty, humanized low key triumph
- Poem 3. Revolt, anger, injured scepticism
- poem 4: what is despair?
- Poem 5: friendship, love, art, anarchist sufism

GENERAL Example: How many poems are you gonna read, order of the poems by
ATMOSPHERE / title and brief description of the general atmosphere.
STRUCTURE: My poems are very short, some of them are micropoems!

- Poem1:(about 40sec) It is about to be “the other”, which is always

“the other” of “the other”. I imagine a quiet atmosphere with some
reverb, like echoes or water dropping.

- Poem2: (about 30sec) about hurting on purpose (o por despecho)

someone dear to you. It ends ironically. Sorrow, stupid
justifications, repentance and knowing it might happen again. I
imagine an atmosphere related to duality. More dramatic.

- Poem3: (about 1’30”) about continuing doing something over and

over without getting results (and about applying for grants) This one
is a bit longer, it is in English and has a repetitive structure.
Atmosphere: Repetition and ambivalence.

- Poem4: (About 20sec.) A reminder to myself.

Like a thought.

- Poem5:(about 30sec) It is related with the second poem, when you

realise trying to hurt somebody that you are actually hurting
yourself.

- Poem6: (About 15sec) A thought on knowing another person.

Intimate but not sad.

- Poem7: Sung poetry (cantado) Mats Karlsson will play the

acoustic guitar and sing the end with me. You are welcome to add
things, I will send you a recording example by email. It is about
traumatic memories so it is sad (but soft musically)

CLUE WORDS: Example: Dark, Sad, Electric, Awakening, Battle…

Since my poems are so short in general, maybe it is better just to

continue generating an intimate & nocturnal, atmosphere the whole
slot, without cuts between poems (kind of jamming) it can be very
soft (in volume) when I am presenting each poem and gain intensity
during the poem itself. But it’s just a suggestion.

Radio P1.

GENERAL Example: How many poems are you gonna read, order of the poems by
ATMOSPHERE / title and brief description of the general atmosphere.
STRUCTURE:
Poem 1. Landskap
Sorry for lousy english!

I think the key words would be animals, sickness, the woods, soil,
plants and the human flesh and body. I hope you get the picture
better when you read the whole poems.

Poem 2 Hemman

Hemman means a place mabye a house or a farm that you own,

but here I am refering to the human body and if you can own
another person or yourself. The keywords is violence, and it’s pretty
much skin, muscels, vegetation and growth.

CLUE WORDS: Example: Dark, Sad, Electric, Awakening, Battle...

-Poem 1 Landskap

It's a bit fast an stakato-ish poem. Lot of lines in solitude. I think the
sound must be monotone and dark. Quite industial. I like noise
music just sound lying there vibrating and rumbling. Quite like it do
in black metal sometimes.

Poem 2 Hemman

This is even more dark but faster and more fluently. But not to
melodic i think. But I also think you know the best because you are
the musicians. But I like it dark, monotone, more sounds than music
mabye. A underlying penance.

Juho Kuusi - 15min
Poems in English (Link)

Juho Kuusi is a spoken word poet originally from Järvenpää but now living in Helsinki. He has been performing poetry for
over 10 years now, has won the national Finnish Poetry Slam championship twice and is a board member of the highly
acclaimed Helsinki Poetry Connection. Juho will bring to the stage an "Animal Themed Spoken Word Poetry Seminar"
and you can expect a wide range of styles and emotions, considering both the textual and the performative side of his
poetry.

GENERAL Example: How many poems are you gonna read, order of the poems by
ATMOSPHERE / title and brief description of the general atmosphere.
STRUCTURE:
1. Esitelmä sudesta / A lecture about wolves

This is a poem where I talk about different kind of dogs - but in the
end I actually speak more about humans and how treat dogs and
wolves. The structure and language of the poem is quite similar to
the Poetry Cam video (check the link below).

2. Hauki on kala / The pike is a fish

This is a 4th grade pupil telling about pikes. It starts quite calmly but
gets quite loud in the end and I guess it is not quite clear in the end
that is the speaker a 4th grade student or “me”. It is a quite funny
poem.

3. Kesäkissa / Summer cat

This one is a sad story about drowning kittens.

4. 10 ohjetta juhasipiläisen kohtaamiseen / 10 instructions to an

encounter with a juhasipila

As the title says, this is an instructional poem. It is mostly funny

stuff with a deeper, political, message.

CLUE WORDS: Example: Dark, Sad, Electric, Awakening, Battle...

- 1: groovy? feet on the ground? jazzy? If you can imitate wolf

howling and dog sounds on the background, or something like that,
it might be cool - not too often during the poem though

- 2: light, cheerful, carnivalish. Voices of water?

- 3: dark (but the poem don’t go directly to the dark side, so you can
sort of glide into the darkness, if possible :)) Voices of nature in the
Summer might be great to get the listeners deeper inside the world
of the story.

- 4: steady, monotonous

it would be good that the atmosphere wouldn’t have any peculiar

mood, so it won’t sound too underlining as a whole piece. The
poem is based on instructions to a bear encounter, so if you can get
something out of that, it might be cool - like bear like sounds etc.
I’ve performed this a couple of times with a monotonous beat and it
works quite nice.
