PROPOSAL

INTRODUCTION

TITLE:

The title of the story is “AND IT WAS TIME.”

SIGNIFICANCE:

This story, although fictional, is inspired by all the women out there who have suffered through
the agony of sexual abuse and the post traumatic depression. Our thoughts go to girls for the
likes of Zainab, Rushaan and many more who’ve lost either been raped, lost their lives to a
mental illness or both. Lastly, I would want to end this harrowing tale with this quote below that
may prove to be a small reality check to some of us:
It's difficult to admit to ourselves that we suffer. We feel humiliated, like we should have been
able to control our pain. If someone else is suffering, we like to tuck them away, out of sight. It's
a cruel, cruel conditioning. There is no controlling the unfolding of life.
Sharon Salzburg

The target audience for this short story is the youth very specially and all the men who ruins the
girl’s life to fulfill their lust. The age bracket is primarily for people 15-55, both the genders.
Since the mission is to make people aware of the inhumanity acts made by the people. Make

RESEARCH/ LITERATURE REVIEW

The Hollywood movies Le Feu Follet and Leaving Las Vegas are those films in which suicide
is the main theme with the central character determined to take his or her own life.

In Le Feu Follet, Alain (played by Maurice Ronet) ends his own life after scorning his old
drinking friends and being unable to warm them without alcohol. The film is of study of one
man’s drift away from a culture he was once a part of, towards a lonely non-existence.

In Leaving Las Vegas, Ben (played by Nicholas Cage) swaps life as Hollywood writer for Las
Vegas and drinks himself to death, despite building a close relationship with a prostitute called
Sera in the last weeks of his life.

Both films track the final days of these characters who are tired of life and making preparations
for an early death.

The Rushaan Suicide case depicts that Rushaan was going through depression whereas she was a
lovey girl with good humor according to her friends and her mother. No one knows what kind of
depression she was having in her life and from what trauma she was going through. In order to
get rid of all her tensions, stress or depression she one day committed suicide by jumping from
4th floor of Beaconhouse National University (BNU).

The Hollywood movie Scum, where and inmate is attacked by a guard (raped) kills himself in his
cell.

The Hollywood movies Descent, where a college co-ed is brutally raped and she struggles alone
rebuild her life.

The movie lipstick, where the top fashion model is raped by her teenaged sister’s music teacher

The Zainab Rape Case is the case in which the 7 years old girl is raped by a man and that man
after raping the girl, killed her and threw her away.

The Pakistani Drama serial Bandhi shows that the girl who is the daughter of a well-known
business man sells her daughter to his business partner for a business deal.
METHODOLOGY

1. PRE-PRODUCTION

Pre-production is a fairly loose term which refers to the tasks undertaken before production
begins. Exactly what is included in this stage depends on the medium and situation.

Finalize the Shooting Script:

Even before the pre-production process starts, you need an idea, and often a fairly polished
screenplay to work off of. But when it’s crunch time, you need to finalize that screenplay and
convert it to a shooting script—one that reads for the director, cinematographer, and camera crew
as well as it does for the actors.

Right Crew:

You should work to get the entire team rounded out before pre-production gets too involved. The
writer and storyboard artist are hired at very early stage. After all, these are the women & men
who will be carrying out a lot of these tasks, and the sooner they are involved in the creative
process, the more valuable their input will be.

Right Cast:

With our dominos falling in place we’re going to need to finally decide on your cast—this could
feel impossible, no matter how many actors we’ve audition. Either way, auditioning early and
often and even employing a casting agent to find even more performers, possibly from outside
your locality, will go a long way towards giving your movie the perfect cast.

Outfit:

The Outfit selected for the entire female cast belongs to the FAIZA SAQLAIN. While MNR is
being selected for the men’s outfit. The entire cast will go through the outfit’s fittings.

Make-up:

The Make-up artists selected are from NABILAS. According to the script, No much needed is
required. So, the main lead (Maryam) is wearing the Nude make-up look using #Zero Make-up
by NABILAS. While the make-up of the rest people is also done by the NABILAS.
Rehearsals:

Sometimes finding the perfect cast could make a filmmaker overconfident, leading them to put
too much responsibility on their cast to be self-sufficient. Actors need their director just as much
as the crew does, and working with them both one-on-one and as an ensemble is a vital part of
the pre-production process. Holding table reads and rehearsals weeks before shooting will ensure
that when the camera is ready to the roll, your cast will be giving the performance your movie
truly needs.

Create a Proper Budget:

By now you should be finalizing your budget, to make sure you can find the gear and afford the
locations you want to use. Sometimes this is the professional thing to do; sometimes it’s the
necessary thing to do because you’re not working with any credit or financial backers willing to
give any more than they already promised. This is never the most fun part of pre-production, but
very often it’s the most important.

Location:

One may need to tailor your storyboards to your location or vice-versa, so finding them early is
key. According to our script, we didn’t need much location. The following few locations were
used:

 Police Station
 A Room
 A decorated hall ( Where everybody was doing party)
 The Garden

Timings:

The rehearsal timings were 11:00 am till 6:00 pm from Monday to Saturday.
2. PRODUCTION

Before one begin the production phase, know and understand the format requirements for
your product. In other words,

 Is the final package to be on reel tape or cartridge?

 What speed should the production master reel be recorded?
 On what is the timing requirement?

Once  in  the  studio,  I’ve make  sure  all  the  required equipment is in good working order. I
followed the locally established procedures in setting up and checking the audio   console
and   equipment   needed   for   your production. It is best to bulk erase any production tapes
you use.

Using tapes that still have audio from  other productions can make tape cuing difficult.

It is  a good idea that you label all tapes used in the production process so you can find the
element you need easily.

Monitor the record and playback levels constantly during the mixing process.

3. POST- PRODUCTION

The post-production process is where everything comes together. Enough time must be set
aside do edit that way you can meet the deadline. I set aside a week to edit this video because
I thought that it would take me a very long time to get the hang of the new editing
techniques. I managed to finish it much earlier than expected.

 Required effects and editing is made in this phase.

 Listened for quality checks that I have missed in earlier development.
 Paid particular attention to the audio levels and quality of the final recording.
 Checked to be sure the production meets the allotted time requirement.

CONCLUSION
Rape is a horrible crime. And it affects the victims for the rest of their lives just like it affected
Maryam and forced her to end her life, end her pain and end her dark days. Sexual assaults are,
unfortunately, extremely common in our society. Its rate is increasing day by day and victims
merely seek justice. 40% of the rapes occur in the victim's home. As estimated,
93% of the rape victims age 18 and under knew the rapist. Of these rapists, 34.2% were family
members and 58.7% were acquaintances. These victims lose friends and family which is unfair
for them because we punish them of someone else’s fault and cruelty. We must help as they extra
need hope, light, care and love. Maryam is not the only victim who attempted suicide, there are
many girls suffering who need help. Before it gets too late we have to take steps to stop these
monsters. We should always remember that all these rapists are cowards, criminals, and losers
and belong in prison.
