A. Product Description

Petron, a fueling station, is a facility which sells fuel and lubricants for motor vehicles. The most

common fuels sold today are petrol known as gasoline, gas or diesel fuel. Petron is the largest fuel

company in the Philippines which also has one of the biggest line-ups. Seven types of fuel to be

exact (4 gasoline, 2 diesel, and 1 LPG) – all locally formulated to meet world-class standards

with more than 80 years of experience serving the specific fuel needs of the country. That means

Petron fully understands the Philippines’ driving conditions and constantly formulate fuels to suit

our roads; delivering optimum efficiency for every type of vehicle. The management of the

PETRON Blaze 100 Euro 6 This is the only Euro 6 compliant fuel with

100-octane rating in the country. That means it

delivers powerful performance, while meeting

stringent emission standards. It has 80% less

sulfur and best suited for high performance

vehicles.

PETRON XCS a ‘Complete Combustion System’ is a 95-

octane high-quality premium gasoline. It has

an additive that’s formulated for quicker

engine response, excellent engine protection,

and optimum fuel efficiency.

PETRON Xtra Advance This is the fuel that goes the ‘Xtra Mile’ that

cleans your engine and is proven to make it

more efficient. This is a regular grade 93-

octane gasoline that’s recommended for all

types of gasoline vehicles.

PETRON Super Xtra ‘Super’ because it’s super cheap – perfect for

those on a tight budget. Still, this 91-octane

fuel has multifunctional detergent additives

that cleans harmful engine deposits and

protects the fuel system from corrosion.

PETRON Turbo Diesel This high performance diesel is formulated to
 extract the maximum performance of today’s

modern engines, which includes fancy CRDi

tech. Not only does it cleans the fuel injection

B. Raw Material

Petron Corporation is the largest oil refining and marketing company in the Philippines,

supplying nearly 40% of the Philippines’ oil requirements. It operates an integrated crude oil
refinery and petrochemicals complex with a rated capacity of 180,000 barrels per day in Limay,

Bataan. From the refinery, products are moved via barges and marine vessels to 32 International

Organization of Standardization (ISO)-certified depots and terminals situated all over the

country. Through this vast distribution network, the company supplies fuel oil, diesel, and LPG

to various industrial customers. Petron also supplies jet fuel at key airports for international and

domestic carriers.

Their Integrated Management System (IMS)-certified refinery processes crude oil into a full

range of petroleum products namely the following:

Gasoline. In the distillation of petroleum the yield of natural gasoline amounts to about 25%of

the crude oil. The remaining 75% of the crude oil consist of compounds whose molecules are

larger and smaller than gasoline molecules. The yield of gasoline is increased by breaking up

some of the larger molecules, using thermal or catalytic cracking and combining the small

ones ,using polymerization or alkylation. These processes which use heat , pressure, and

catalysts, increase the yield of gasoline to about 45% of the crude oil.

Gasoline is the major petroleum product, accounting for about 46% of the total volume of

refined petroleum products in the United State. A small amount of gasoline is mixed with 10%-

20% ethyl alcohol to make a motor vehicle fuel called gasohol. Gasoline, which is refined in

three grades - regular, premium and aviation . Fuel use most motor vehicle and small piston-

engine aircraft. (Encyclopedia Americana, vol. 12 "Gasoline", International Edition,1997)

Gasoline is composed of a mixture of volatile hydrocarbon compunds ,most of that have boiling

point between 50 and 200 c (122-392 F).These hydrocarbons generally contain 4to 12 carbon

atoms. The types of compounds found in gasoline include straight chain paraffin ,aromatic

compounds and naphthene.

Diesel Fuel. Diesel Fuel is less highly refined than gasoline and it is used primarily in automobile

especially equipped to use diesel fuel rather than gasoline, and in trucks ,ships and locomotives .

Less than 10% of all crude oil in the United states is refined to diesel fuel.

Kerosene. Kerosene was in demand for lighting, while gasoline was of very limited use. Kerosene

plays a smaller role for home cooking and heating, and for fueling some farm equipment. Less

than 1% of crude oil in the United States is refined to kerosene.

Lubricating oil. Lubricating oils are used primarily in machines to keep then running smoothly

and reliably and to increase their useful life. Slightly over 1% of crude oil in the United States in

Grades of Gasoline. The two common grades of gasoline, premium and regular differ chiefly in

their octane number. Unleaded gasoline and gasohol are about equal to regular gasoline in octane

number

Plant Location

The proposed subject will be located in the heart on the town proper of Dauin, Negros

Oriental. It will bein Poblacion, Dauin Negros Oriental. It will be located along the National

Highway. The location is good because the travelers can easily see the Gasoline Station with

Mini Stop. Buses, jeepneys, and cars from neighbouring cities and towns, pass through Dauin

several times daily and there’s a posibility that they will refill there. A popular business near in

our location is a Market and there are many residents living near in our location.

Waste Disposal

Waste management is another priority of Tanjay City and at the present, the city is in the

“collect” and “dispose” system without the enforcement of segregation, recycling, reduction and

re-use of waste as mandated by RA 9003. Furthermore, Garbage collection, which is one of the

basic and essential services in Tanjay, is managed by the City Government. With this, we are

planning to take advantage of the City’s waste disposal service to eliminate our waste and

garbage because gasoline station, with our primary product being only gasoline, we do not

necessarily produce that much waste.
