Structural analysis & calculations

For SPR structural calculations, following considerations

must be taken that influence the final design: These settings withstand and warranty without damages or
plastic deformation, all mechanical efforts caused by their
Raw Material loading, seismic loads, transportation movements as well as
their own assembly.
Number and location of footings for installation.
Dead and live loads. These beams configuration allow handling of the assembled
Equipment loads and weights room in one piece or in sections, in cases when split due to
Seismic conditions transportation restrictions.
Environmental conditions.
Specific customer requirements

According to these parameters, all our structural design,

calculations and 3D simulation are performed, obtaining all
present efforts and stresses. These results are validated
according to standard ANSI/AISC 360-05 - ASD.

Base frame

SPR base is designed and manufactured using laminated and

bended structural steel profiles and beams H or C type series
IPN and UPN, and secondary members type C or L standard
type ASTM A-36, ASTM A-500 or ASTM A 572 G. 50, to
create a welded frame with pillars and segments, on a self-
supporting base type, for loads of at least 1250kg/m2.

Base is also under-covered to set a false floor, which is

manufactured by C.R. 1.5mm minimum thickness, attached
to the base with rivets.

Depending on equipment distribution, both floor and false

floor sheets include cut-outs, necessary for the access of
external conductors and power cables to the inner
equipment.

General frame

Welded vertical and diagonal structure pillars, beams, roof

frames and tie beams of ceiling, are designed with bended
or light laminated profiles to provide support to the
interlocked plywood panels for walls and roof, as well as the
wall mounted equipment.

HVAC´s roof curb

Roof frame
Roof structure is design and manufactured by welded
structural steel profiles. This structure considers HVAC roof
location and installation, when specified.

Roof Structure is covered with C.R. steel sheet 1.5mm

minimum thickness, continuously welded to eliminate any
leakage.

Roof is designed with a one/two way, 2º slope to avoid water

accumulation.

For this analysis, including dead and live loads, the

maximum stress and deflection findings compared to the
material creep effort, provides the safety factor for the
system.

Lifting lugs

Siemens Power Rooms are design either for upper or lower

lifting.

Lifting lugs are fabricated with ASTM A-500 or ASTM A-36

plate, determined by its quantity, position, and total weight
load. Removable for transportation and M20 bolted.

Deflection analysis - Roof lifting are superficially cleaned by a nearly white metal shot
blasting process according to SSPC-SP5 standard. A coating
and painting process is performed afterwards, based on
