"Im sorry, Ummiy"

(A short poem)

Im sorry for the days that I couldn't say how much I loved you.

For the days that we are apart and I missed you.

Forgive me for not returning your missed calls.

I was too busy then not knowing you're going through a lot. You have your hidden downfalls.

I'm sorry that I couldn't express my affection, my love to you.

To offer my arms to hug you

I hope, even at least, I can mend an inch of your shattered heart. The broken pieces of you.

The blessings that Allah has given me, I was arrogant that I failed to see that in you.

I'm sorry if I am a man of pride.

Even my attention and care, I tried to hide.

Forgive me for my lapses, I was busy struggling and fighting with myself.

Not knowing, you called your son, you needed help.

You are not getting any younger, you're getting weaker each day.

Each day we are apart, those days I couldn't pay.

Now you are sick and helpless, I can't barely stand to see you.

I prayed I was there long before this happened to you.

You are sick and alone in the hospital. Recovering

While here I am, in a city far from home, studying.

4 years are too much for me not to see you each day.

Now you are ill and even looking after you is harder than I thought, knowing I am away.

I'm sorry is never enough but please forgive me.

Know that I care but I am not just expressive.

I have plans and soon I'll be home. In shaa Allah

A little more time and patience, we shall be together by the will of Allah.

I am happy and content that you are my mother

I pray, each day and night, may Allah grant you the highest place in Jannah where there is forever.

May Allah remove the tears in your eyes and replace it with a smile.

Our hearts are connected even if we are separated for miles.

Ya Ummiy, you are dearest to me.

I am not a perfect son, again please forgive me.

May Allah remove your pain and grant you healing.

I am helpless, only to Him I rely my trust. Ya Allah, keep my mother smiling.
