"PTA" can have different meanings to different people. To me,
"PTA" has been an opportunity to connect with my children's school
community through volunteerism and advocacy. Being a member of NCPTA Merchandise Store
PTA gives me a sense of connection to not only my children's
schools but also to the larger community in Charlotte where I reside,
the state of North Carolina, and our nation. Being a member of my
local PTA also means I am part of the oldest and largest child
advocacy organization in America. PTA is a common tie among
myself and other parents, caregivers, extended family members,
and community members - at its heart, we are all concerned for and
invested in the well-being

My name is Melani Harris McNinch, and I am proud to serve my
community and state as PTA Treasurer at Huntingtowne Farms
Elementary, Secretary at the Mecklenburg PTA Council, as a
member of the NCPTA Board of Directors, and as NCPTA's
