COMMUNITY SERVICE (MPU 3412)

1.0 DOCUMENTATION ACTIVITIES

Participating in this community service program is a great activity. This activity

needs to be carefully planned, documented and discussed in detail so that it can
achieve its intended objectives. Step by step needs to be planned so that all involved
are aware of their responsibilities and duties throughout the program and achieve the
actual objectives of the program.

1.1 INTRODUCTION

Doing community service is an honorable activity in the community and is also with
Allah S.W.T. Community service is also a voluntary community work that involves a
certain amount of funds, workforce and a specific goal. These community activities
are intended to ease the burden and benefit the community. Islam also strongly
recommends that we always do good and help others to the best of our ability and
ability.

As students, we are also asked to do community service so that we can foster

goodwill between students and the local community. Every well-planned community
service activity will have a profound impact on students, especially at the local and
national level.

1.2 THEME
"The Concept of Burial in the Garden (Raudathul Sakinah)"
According to (Staton, 1965) the theme is the title or main question described in a
story. I chose this theme to change the perception of the people who consider this
cemetery a scary and scary place.

2.0 BACKGROUND OF A SERVICE SERVICE ACTIVITY

I chose to clean up this area of Kampung Baru Bendang Nyior, Tanah

Merah, Kelantan for the purpose of meeting my MPU3412 (Community Service)
Subjects in this universe. This cemetery should be carefully managed to encourage
especially young people to visit their deceased relatives. In addition, we need to think
of ways to upgrade this cemetery to make it more attractive as a graveyard project in
a park under the supervision of the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department
(Jawi). Through this project, Islamic burial ground became a modern burial ground
with an attractive landscape.

3.0 Reflections before program execution

After reviewing all the titles provided, I decided to "clean up the cemetery
area". In this regard, I made an appointment with the head of the Kg Baru Bendang
Nyior volunteer club to discuss the community service program to be conducted.

On May 23, I made the title selection and planned a place for my
community service activities. Then, on May 25, 2018, I selected Kg New Bendang
Nyior Cemetery as my location of activity. On May 28, 2018, I contacted the head of
the Kampung Bendang Nyior volunteer club, En. Shameless for the first meeting. On
June 1, I met with Mr. Syam to select the dates and equipment needed and the goals
of the program. Following the meeting, he agreed and will work together to clear the
cemetery area. This project will be implemented on June 16, 2018 (Saturday).

3.1 Reflection identifies strengths

After conducting such activities, I was able to identify some of the
strengths of our activities. One of the strengths of this program is that I and
this Volunteer Club are able to perform community service as planned.
The program also exposes the management, planning and management of a
task. In fact, we can talk with each other to work on the tasks provided. In
addition, I was able to build good relationships between myself and the
local community. In addition, this group of volunteers is more experienced
than I am in running such programs. They helped us a lot in launching the

program we co-sponsored. I was also exposed to management-related

methods and procedures when working in a group.

3.2 Reflection identifies weaknesses

During the service of this community, I have come to see some of the
weaknesses in such activities. These are:

i) Not enough time is available to carry out activities in larger places.

ii) There is not enough funds to sponsor food and equipment.

iii) Adults and young people are less involved in such programs.

iv) There is no civic awareness in the field to contribute to this charity work
together.

4.0 Suggestions for improvement

I suggest some improvements in carrying out this activity including:

i) Join Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) such as the Societies of Natural

Resources (SAS), Associations who are registered to raise funds to support such
programs.

ii) Need a good cameraman to get quality video.

iii) Make youth icons a leader to encourage young people to participate in this community
service program.

iv) Add more wakaf to the cemetery for the convenience of visitors.
