Face shield
for protection against COVID-19
pandemic
Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS-AKTU) Lucknow and Central Institute
of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET) Lucknow joints hands
together for developing face shields at nominal cost to medical and needy
departments. Four M.Tech students of Mechatronics first year, Mr. Avinash
Bhaskar, Mr. Deepak Chandra Joshi, Mr. Nitin Singh and Mohd. Ilyas have
been working under the guidance of Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma for developing
the face shield.
An innovative FACE SHEILD has been designed and
developed in house at CAS, AKTU Lucknow for doctors,
nurses and other paramedical staff. It is capable of
protecting the spillage of contaminants coming from
patients during sneezing and coughing of patients on
medical staff’s face, thus ensures primary safety. The
product is commercialized and is available for sale by
CIPET at a very nominal price to interested
organizations.
AKGEC Fablab, an Innovation lab has
come out with an idea to develop low
cost and effective Face Shield using 3D
printing technology. Mr. Vikram Singh
Rajput (Assistant Professor) of Ajay
Kumar Garg Engineering College
Ghaziabad has developed the face
shields which is used to protect the face
of the healthcare personnel
KIET Group of Institutions Ghaziabad has made an
economical face shield for protection against corona-virus.
Fabrication cost for a single piece claimed is Rs.13/- with 4
minutes of manufacturing time. This face shield is made
using the plastic hair bands and transparent sheet which
covers the face completely. Raw material is readily
available. The face shield is developed by Mr. Sachin
Rathore (Assistant Professor) & DR. K. L. A Khan
(Professor) of KIET Group of Institutions Ghaziabad and
donated to Ghaziabad police and health personnel.
Pedal operated Hand Sanitizer Dispenser
Robotic arm
Moradabad Institute of Technology
Moradabad
Mr. Pravesh Chandra and other students
from the Institute developed the Robotic
arm to take sample from an infected
person for COVID-19 test.
The robotic arm is controlled by a
controller held in another hand to
operate the robotic arm.
The arm can perform simple actions like
holding and getting sample from patient
with reduced exposure to the patient.

Cyberpunk Mask
Ashoka Institute of Technology and
Management, Varanasi
Mr. Sandeep Mishra (Student) developed
the cyberpunk mask for protection from
pollution. This mask has a respiratory
filter that is worn over nose and mouth,
it also has an Air Quality Sensor that
senses the AIR ppm. A green light blinks
when the air is suitable for breathing, a
yellow light blinks when the air is slightly
polluted and a red light blinks when the
air is highly polluted.
