Sanitizing Chamber
for sanitizing the PPE kits and protective
shields used for paramedical staffs
Centre for Advanced Studies AKTU Lucknow
The sanitizing chamber is designed and developed
by Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma and his team for
sanitizing the personal protection equipment (PPE)
which are used by doctors and paramedical staff in
hospitals or even outside. There is shortage of PPE
kits and even the PPE kits used by the staff in
normal wards can be reused after getting it sanitized
with appropriate technology.
The sanitizing chamber is based on two
technologies; firstly, the Ultra violet light exposure in
which UV type C lams are used. The type C UV light
has a wavelength of almost 100-280 nm which is
capable of damaging the DNA of bacteria, viruses
and other pathogens, secondly the aerosols
generated from the alcohol based sanitizer is used.
The exposure of the surfaces to the aerosols of
alcohol based sanitizer disinfects the surface and
make it free from virus contaminations. This is a very
effective solution to sanitize the PPE kits and other
protective items like face shield, goggles etc. The
chamber has sufficient space where even a man can
enter easily inside the chamber and the kits can be
hanged upon hangers and small items can be placed
over the tray for sanitization. After closing the door,
the UV lamps can be switched on as per the
required usage while rotating the kits so as to get
maximum exposure. Thereafter the fogging machine
installed inside can be switched on which fills the
compartment with the aerosols of alcohol based
sanitizer to kill the viruses left, if any. This machine is
designed by CAS-AKTU and fabricated with the help
of our industry partner Mayank Enterprises and
Infolink Lucknow.
Universal Portable sanitizing machine
for sanitizing the small gadgets carried by
doctors and paramedical staffs like watch,
spectacles, stethoscope etc.
Centre for Advanced Studies AKTU Lucknow
The universal portable sanitizing machine is
designed and developed by Dr. Anuj Kumar
Sharma and his team for sanitizing the small
items including electronic items like wrist watch,
spectacles, ring, stethoscope, wallet etc. carried
by doctors and paramedical staff in hospitals or
even outside.
This machine is based on two technologies;
firstly, the Ultra violet light exposure in which UV
type C lams are used. The type C UV light has a
wavelength of almost 100-280 nm which is
capable of damaging the DNA of bacteria, viruses
and other pathogens.
Secondly, the aerosols generated from the
alcohol based sanitizer is used. The exposure of
the surfaces to the aerosols of alcohol based
sanitizer disinfects the surface and make it free
from virus contaminations.
There is a small container fitted in side the
machine in which different items can be placed
simultaneously. After closing the door, the
chamber starts rotating and the UV lamps are
switched on for required time. The rotation of
chamber helps in providing maximum exposure
to each and every corner of the items placed
inside. Thereafter, the spraying an alcohol based
sanitizer is sprayed over the objects to sanitize
those for making them fit for reuse. This machine
is designed by CAS-AKTU and fabricated with
the help of our industry partner Mayank
Enterprises and Infolink Lucknow.
Sanitizing tunnel “Suddhi Surang”
for sanitizing the luggage passing
through it on conveyor belt

Centre for Advanced Studies AKTU Lucknow

The sanitizing tunnel is designed and
developed by Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma and
his team for sanitizing the luggage. This
tunnel can be kept at the entry gate of
railway stations, airports, post office or at
any premises where luggage handling is
major concern. As the luggage placed on
the conveyor belt comes in the range of the
sensor installed at the entry of tunnel, the
nozzles start spraying the sanitizer as
recommended by WHO in its guidelines.

This machine is based on the technology in

which various nozzles are attached in side
the tunnel at different locations with
different orientations so as to cover the
whole luggage surface from every direction.
The sanitizer is sprayed through nozzles at
regulated and controlled flow of air and
sanitizer. The exposure of the surfaces to
the aerosols of sanitizer disinfect the outer
exposed surface and make it free from
virus contaminations.
This machine is designed by CAS-AKTU
and fabricated with the help of our industry
partner Mayank Enterprises and Infolink
Lucknow.
