On-shoring steel production can rebuild the American economy

America uses steel every day, from the cars that we drive to our household
items. A congressman Mike Kelly, from Pennsylvania, advocates investing in steel to
rebuild the economy. In One America, Christina Bob sat down with whim.
Christina Bob: “Pennsylvania congressman Mike Kelly tells One America News
that prioritizing a reboot of the American steel will provide economic and national
security as well as foundation for sustained American prosperity”.
Mike Kelly: “We can become energy independent and we can become the
biggest exporter of energy in the world. We put ourselves in a really different position
now. We’re not relying on a country or an area that does not support us as looking for
our ultimate demise to supply our energy”.
Christina Bob: “Energy independence gives the United States more over
American manufacturing and would lower production costs of goods, says Kelly who
hails from the traditional steel producing region of Northwest Pennsylvania. He points
out that lowering production costs makes the United States more competitive in global
markets and lowering manufacturing prices in the United States, in turn, would create
more American jobs”.
Mike Kelly: “For manufacturing, it lower the costs of manufacturing burn when
your energy costs goes down, your overall cost of productions goes down, which allows
you to be in the market at a price that is so competitive that we now become the choice.
They all have a choice from people when people ‘wanna’ new things”.
Christina Bob: “In Addition to lowering manufacturing costs and creating
American jobs, steel and energy independence is vital to national security, says Kelly.
Protecting an American independence and limiting reliance in foreign nations
strengthens our security and puts control back in the hands of Americans, he adds”.
Mike Kelly: “Steel production is so vital to us. I think the president said a
country that doesn’t it, doesn’t produce its own steel is in grave danger. These are our
national security items”.
