At Hailsham, Never Let Me Go A, ofthe students had to face the reality of coming oan end quicker than an average healthy SL human, Each main character dealt with their lives differently. Tommy dealt with his life in a om 7 form of frustration, Kathy with acceptance, and Ruth tried to make the best of it, They all lived ee eee their lives to the fullest. Despite the arguments and disagreements they'd go through, they all cared for each other in different ways. Although Ruth was bossy, there were still hints that she had cared for Kathy and Tommy a lot. Kathy wouldn't leave their friendship no matter how bad Ruth would get towards her, while Tommy was always an ear out for the others. They would never let go of each other, till death do them part. ‘Tommy, ever since he was a kid, had a very bad temper and didn’t take any news or , very Well. He would shout and fuss while having his tantrums because information sent to that’s the best way he could handle a situation, Tommy dealt with life at Hailsham by confiding in Kathy about his personal feelings. In return Kathy would comfort him and assure him that everything would be alright. For example towards the end of the story Tommy again throws another tantrum, and Kathy was there to calm him down, “....1 was able to reach him just as he ‘was getting to his feet again. I caught a glimpse of his face in the moonlight, caked in mud and distorted with fury, then | reached for his flailing arms and held on tight. At the end, she becomes the person to take care of both her childhood friends, Ruth and Tommy, as they start to face the end of thei lives. Ruth, on the other hand, did not want to accept what she was destined to do. She tried to live her life to the fullest and fit in with everyone else from the Cottages. She completely tumed her life around once she became a donor. Ruth had felt bad for how she treated Kathy and ‘Tommy. She knew that she had kept them apart far too long, so she decides to give them her IHRE deferrals so they could live anoth Spears, knowing they were realy in love with each other.
