Class: X Subject : Mathematics Chapter 6 : Triangle

Important Instructions :

1] To understand the concept of the given chapter revise the basic concept of triangle, its property

and criteria for similarity of triangle for example AA test, ASA test, SSS test, RHS criteria,

SAS criteria or you can refer the previous standard Chapter Triangle concept from NCERT

Textbook.

2] Student needs to solve and write all the solved examples, theorem and exercise on the ruling

pages but don’t write summary at the end of the lesson as we already written all chapter summary in

the portfolio note book. (Note: Each day 3 examples or the question should be solved)

3] Students should write the provided key notes in the beginning of the Chapter 6 Triangle.

4] Student should first refer the NCERT Textbook or the provided link to understand the concept of

the chapter Triangle.

5] In the next step student should solve the solved example and write down the theorem from the

textbook.

6] Exercise 6.1 should be solve in the textbook only.

7] Students can solve the questions by their own method or with the help of provided study material

or by any other reference book or by the other sources (Video or PDF)

8] Students need to solve exercise question after understanding concepts i.e. before the exercise and

after completion of the solved example.

Key Notes
Chapter 6 –Triangle

1. Congruent Figures:
Two geometric figures which have the same shape and size are known as
congruent figures.

2. Similar Polygon:
Two polygon having the same number of sides are said to be similar, if
i) Their corresponding angles are equal and
ii) The lengths of their corresponding sides are proportional.

3. Similar Triangle :
Two triangle are said to be similar, if
i) their corresponding angles are equal and
ii) their corresponding sides are in the same ratio ( or proportion ).

4. Note that the same ration of the corresponding sides is referred to as scale factor (or the
representative fraction) for the polygon.

5. Equiangular Triangle :
Two triangles are said to be equiangular if their corresponding angles
are equal.

6. All congruent figures are similar but the converse is not true.

7. In other way we can say that all congruent figures are similar but the similar figures need not
be congruent.
