TNese novels shared some aspects of the simpi- city of narrative techniques observed in the novels of the previous period. However, some innovations were evident: the novelists adopted the structure of the western "whodunnits,” and experinented with psychology, introspection, and complicated handling of point of view. The most important novels of this period were the novels on personal search which described con- tem rary Cebuano experiences and realitics.
