FABRICATION OF PNEUMATIC SLOTTING MACHINE

SYNOPSIS

INTRODUCTION

Our project work is “Pneumatic Slot cutting Machine” it can be used

for temporary fastening for any sheet metal work. In modern Manufacturing
technology faster & easy technology is inevitable. Pneumatic system is used to
most important process of Industries and Harbor. Any work done by Pneumatic
system, Ex: Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Pressing, etc., above process can be made
to easily vide by Pneumatic system. In this method of machineries work is
designed through Air Pressure. So these processes are used to all kinds of work.
All types of works can be successfully finished for this Air pumping pressure-
creating method. Pneumatic pump and Pneumatic cylinder are used this process.

OBJECTIVE

 The slot is used for cutting grooves keyways and slots of various shapes
for making regular and irregular surfaces both internal and external.

 It is less rigid and less robust.

METHODOLOGY

Pneumatic operated slotting machine is efficient machine which works by

pneumatic power, intend of crank and slotting link mechanism here pneumatic
power is employed with quick return mechanism, this system consist of ram,
pneumatic cylinder, solenoid valve, timer circuit, when air from compressor is
send to double acting cylinder via solenoid valve. This valve will make the
cylinder to move to and fro as per, the signal from the timer. Timer will be
programmed with delay. The working medium is adopted by the compressed
air. The compressed air is transmitted through tubes to pneumatic cylinder
where pneumatic power is converted into reciprocating motion. This motion
leads to the forward and return stroke of the piston in the cylinder.
ADVANTAGES

 It used for making slots in smaller jobs

 Slotting is light machine
 Can employ light cuts and finer feed

APPLICATIONS

 In a machine shop of the industry at production department it is widely

used.

 The slotting is used for cutting grooves keyways and slots of various
shapes for making regular and irregular surfaces both internal and
external
