1.0 Synoptic Situation Provided by IMD as per HM Bulletin 10.07.2020, 14:00 IST.

♦ The LowPressure Area over northeast Arabian Sea & adjoining south Pakistan persists. The
associatedcyclonic circulation now extends upto 3.6 km above mean sea level.
♦ The offshoretrough at mean sea level from Eastcentral Arabian Sea off Karnataka coast to
Lakshadweep area now runs from Eastcentral Arabian Sea off Goa coast to Kerala coast.

Saurashtra- Kutch.

b. Basin-wise Flood Situation and Advisory Warning


Mahi Basin: - In last 24 hrs, two CWC sites received light rainfall. Water level at most of the
CWC stations is in steady condition. As per CWC data current situation is normal.

Sabarmati Basin: - In last 24 hrs, two CWC sites received light rainfall; two CWC sites
moderate rainfall. Water level at most of the CWC stations is in steady condition. As per CWC
data current situation is normal.

Banas Basin: - In last 24 hrs, one CWC site received light rainfall. Currently water level at
most of the CWC sites is in steady condition. As per CWC data current situation is normal.

Independent rivers of Saurashtra and Kutch and Luni Basin: - MTBO have 8 sites in the
independent rivers of Saurasthra and Kutch and 2 sites in Luni Basin. In last 24 hrs three CWC
sites received light rainfall; one CWC site moderate rainfall. Water level in the independent
rivers of Saurashtra and Kutch is in falling condition. As per CWC data current situation is
normal.

Advisory on Hydro-meteorological Situation Expected from 11.07.2020 to 12.07.2020


As per rainfall pattern given in section 1.1, all three major rivers are expected to receive
light rainfall with isolated distribution in next 24 hours.
As per IMD’s QPF, Light to Moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at a few places
in all the districts of Saurashtra- Kutch.
Water level at most of CWC sites in all the three major river basins is expected to be in
steady state in next 24 hours. From the given QPF no flood like situation is expected in all three
river basins.

A quantitative inflow forecast will be issued for Kadana, Dharoi and Dantiwada dam
and an advisory forecast for Mahi Bajaj Sagar Dam, Somkamla Dam and Panam Dam if the
inflow crosses the forecast criteria fixed for the above dams.

I. SYNOPTIC SITUATION: -
♦ The Low Pressure Area over northeast Arabian Sea & adjoining south Pakistan persists. Th
e associated cyclonic circulation now extends upto 3.6 km above mean sea level.

♦ A northsouth trough at 4.5 km above mean sea level runs from East Uttar Pradesh to
south Odisha across Chhattisgarh.

b. Basin-wise Flood Situation Report


Tapi Basin: There was no/light rainfall at most of the sites of CWC in Tapi basin in past 24
hr. Water levels at sites is steady or showed a slightly rising trend and hence no flood situation
exists in the basin.

Lower Narmada Basin: Lower Narmada Basin received no/light rainfall at all the CWC sites
in past 24 hrs. Water levels at sites show steady conditions and hence no flood situation exists
in the basin.

Damanganga Basin: There was light/moderate rainfall at most of the CWC sites in
Damanganga Basin in past 24 hr. Water levels at sites showed a steady / slightly rising trend
and hence no flood situation exists in the basin.

Independent rivers: Tapi Division has 6 sites in the independent rivers of South Gujarat. In
past 24 hr. there was light rainfall at most sites of CWC and moderate rainfall at isolated places.
As such no flood situation exists in the region.

Advisory on Hydro Meteorological Situation Expected from 11-07-2020 to 12-07-2020


As per rainfall pattern given in section II, Lower Narmada, Tapi, Damanganga and
Independent basins are expected to receive light rainfall at isolated places in next 48 hours. As
per IMD’s QPF, light rainfall is expected at isolated places in the Tapi, Lower Narmada,
Damanganga and Independent river basins in next 48 hours.
Water level at CWC station in Tapi, Lower Narmada, Damanganga & Independent
basins are expected to remain constant or rise slowly in next 48 hours. From the given QPF, no
flood like situation is expected in all three river basins and independent basins.

A quantitative inflow forecast will be issued for Hathnur, Ukai, Madhuban and Sardar
Sarovar dam if the inflow crosses the forecast criteria fixed for the above dams.
Level forecast will be issued for Surat, Garudeshwar, Bharuch, Vapi and Daman if the
level of river at above stations is likely to touch or cross warning level.
