ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

In the era of fierce competition, mere theoretical knowledge is not enough to give what it
takes to scale new heights. An in depth understanding of concepts can be achieved by
supplementing with practical experience.

The following report scope of institutional banking is an honest and sincere effort on my part
to put into practice the concepts learned during my industry exposure. However, this project
would not have been possible without the guidance and support of my project guide, Mr.
UTTAM SINGH, senior Vice President, who with his market know-how and experience
guided me from the very start.

Further I would also like to acknowledge the crucial role of Mr. Shashwat Awtaney, for being
the constant support during my summer internship. Mr. Sumit Das. It is by virtue of their
valuable suggestions and mentoring that this project has materialized into concrete form.

I owe a great deal to everyone for their kind support in letting me conduct this study and for
giving valuable inputs necessary for completion of the same. I owe my wholehearted thanks
and appreciation to the entire staff of the company for their cooperation and assistance during
the course of my project.

Other than this follow up with clients on a regular basis I also analysed budget of five
ministries and their prominent schemes for the same that can be used by the business team so
that we can have a cashflow flowing through our channel and payment gateway.
The five ministry being
1. Ministry of HRD
2. Ministry of health
3. Ministry of Jal Shakti
4. Ministry of Tourism
5. Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry

Contacted the concern IAS officer and their sectaries for a meeting so that we can provide
their respected schemes with our banking solution and make business with them.

HEFA

Prepared a replica of this scheme as a proposal to senior management to bypass it or include

it in our higher education schemes as it was already diverting all our fund and business to psu
banks.
The proposal by the government was to raise funds instead of bonds through HEFA and cut
grants given because of which our business in education sector would significantly reduce in
coming years.

This was the proposed fund flow through ministry to institutions and to tackle and hold this
fund was being objective.

State Bank NMRC CITY1 Card, is a contactless dual interface (EMV chip based) prepaid
card with stored value functionality for providing a safe, secure and seamless way of
payment. Apart from a simple way to pay fares in the Noida – Greater Noida Metro, this card
offers extended usage in Noida Metro buses as well. Compartmentalization of amount for
different utilities such as transit amongst others is a unique feature of this State Bank NMRC
CITY1 Card, which can be used for purchase of tickets or loading of passes for metro as well
as buses, using the store value of the card. Looking this as a great initiative HDFC was
looking to replicate it and implement it in Faridabad. Integrating it with all the above
mentioned attributes.

This is the sample card by which we would replicate smart city project of Faridabad smart
city.
 Cashless travels in Noida-Greater Noida Metro
 Purchase tickets and store passes for your Metro travel needs.
 Purchase tickets for the Noida buses using the same card
 Chip-protection to ensure better security for your card
 Easy to use Tap-and-Pay functionality

LEARNING OUTCOME
Team working – you may have had the experience of working in groups on assignments, but most
workplaces are built on teams and you need to learn to work well with other people and value each
other’s’ strengths and contribution.
Communication – you will have to learn to communicate clearly and succinctly both in writing and
orally, often making quick points in the cut and thrust of meetings.
Interpersonal skills – working with people at all levels.
Planning, organizing and time management – not only do you have to get to and leave work at set
times but you will also have to learn to juggle different priorities and work on several projects
simultaneously.
Problem-solving and decision-making – you won’t always be able to rely on other people to tell you
what to do! It is important to be able to act on your own initiative.
Numeracy and IT literacy – both are important skills, along with oral and written communication.
Ability to appear self-confident – students may appear diffident at college, and their tutors take this as
a sign of humility, or not notice if they produce good work. However, in the business world diffidence
may be misinterpreted as failure to engage.
Negotiation skills – for example, over conflicting priorities, or if there is a particular way in which
you want the organization to help you achieve a learning objective.
Ability to understand, and adapt to, the workplace culture, as well as the particular demands it places
upon you.
Increase in commercial awareness by understanding management practices and the way organizations
work. In particular, how are decisions made and who holds the power? What are the main factors in
the company’s external environment, e.g. clients, competitors, that affect its products and
performance? What is the company culture, and how can you fit in? Are there specific cultural
differences which you need to be aware of?

Skills to enhance

Refine your communication, collaboration and leadership skills.

Apply analytical decision-making tools to develop solutions to problems.
Assess ethical and sustainability dimensions of business decisions.
Evaluate global dimensions of business decisions with regard to social and economic considerations.
Integrate knowledge across business functions
RELEVANCE OF SUGGESTIONS

HEFA
During my internship, I was told analyse the budget and eyeball all the prominent schemes during
which I came across a new government organization called HEFA. This was regarding the education
business segment of hdfc bank has a huge impact on our revenue, during my analysis if budget and
our earning through high education business I came across that HEFA has been slowly acquiring our
business from this segment and leaking it to PSU banks such as canara bank.
My made my point in the meeting and was instructed to find more about HEFA and how can we
partner with them by meeting the concerned authorities or to find a plan B by making our own HEFA
for private institutions and corporates as HEFA was an organizing which was providing loans to these
institutions with issuing bonds and not taking loans from the bank and hence reducing the asset side
of the company.
Also creating a private model like HEFA will also led to limitless growth for the bank and will lead to
long customer relations and business for the bank.
