1. Identify the meaning of each figure of speech
2. Distinguish each figure of speech on pop songs
3. Cite examples of discussed figures of speech
4. Differentiate one figure of speech from the others.
5. Construct their own poem using

III. Procedure:
A. EXPLORE
1. The students will be asked: What’s your favorite song? Why do you like it? What is/are the
line/s that you can relate most? Why?
2. EQ: What if there is no existence of songs? What would possibly happen?
3. Sharing and processing of responses.
4. Responses are linked to their new lesson.
B. FIRM-UP
1. The teacher will discuss the figures of speech through bottom up approach.
2. The students will be asked to distinguish the difference of each figure from the others.
3. The teacher will only facilitate the students’ understanding and interpretation.
4. The teacher will also make use of pop songs for further discussion.
5. The class will be asked time by time to recall and to identify the figures of speech discussed.
6. The teacher will let the students answer briefly a set of songs in order to ensure student’s
comprehension.
7. Students’ answers will be processed.
C. DEEPEN
1. The students will be asked to identify lines that has figures of speech from the song Fireworks
by Katy Perry.
2. While listening they will also be asked to pick a line that struck them most.
3. The students will be asked to share why.
D. Transfer
1. The students will be asked to give examples of each figures of speech through choosing from
pop music. After which, they will be asked to dubbed it or to create a musical.ly compilation
performing each song.
