Nyurma Pamo is a heroine whose eyes flash like lightening, Born from the opening
corolla of the lotus face of the lord of the triple world to pacify hindrances and
develop Bodhicitta. It is also believed that the Tara was appeared in a tear from
Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig) ‘s right eye as a expression of his supreme love and
compassion.
2. Loter Yangchenma
The tibetian word “Loter” means Knowledge giver and “Yangchenma” means
melodious, one who possesses melodies or sources of melodies. In Sanskrit, she is
called both Saraswati and Vajrasaraswati. The Loter yangchenma is a goddess of
immeasurable knowledge, beauty, art, music and science. She is a source of
harmony, peace, truth and wisdom.

4. Tsugtor Namgyalma
The term Tsugtor indicates the topknot upon the crown chakra of a Buddha, which
is one of the thirty-two major marks of a fully enlightened being. Namgyal means
Victorious one. Hence, she is a victorious one of the top knot. She is renowned as
the Tara of long life, with the ability to strengthen the life force, life energy, and
vitality of all sentient beings. She is also renowned for protecting beings from
premature death and from falling to take rebirth in unfavourable situations or lower
realms, or undergoing adverse changes of our situation. In Sanskrit, she is famous
as "Ushnishtavijaya".
There is a legend that at one time, when Shakyamuni Buddha was teaching, Tara
manifested right upon his crown chakra and spontaneously taught the Tara
practice. Thus, she is named as Tara of the Top Knot
6. Jigje Chenmo
Mantra: Om Tare Tu Tare Ture Sarva Bighnen Bam Hum Phat Soha
Jigje means fierce, frightening and Chenmo means, great one. So, this Tara is the
great, fierce Tara. She is renowned for protecting against any negative forces and
from those who are creating problem in our immediate environment.
On a throne of a lotus and moon appears dark-red Jigjed Chenmo with one face
and two arms. She sits in the dismounting posture, Her right hand is in the mudra
of supreme charity. Her left hand, in the Three Jewels mudra, holds an uptala
flower blooming at her ear. On its pistil is an indestructible phurba, surrounded by
blazing lassoes of flames and sparks.

8. Zhengyi Migyalma
Zhengyi Migyalma, stands for invincible lady, whom can’t won. With the
terrifying appearance, she has the power and ability of a Buddha. When she has
finished destroying the maras, or , fears, she is once again beautiful like a lotus,
remaining strong and powerful. Moreover, She has special abilities to protect us
against troublemakers persons who criticize and harass others, and people who
bring lawsuits.
9. Sengdeng Nagchi
Green Tara, who protects from all external fears, is named as Tara Sengdeng
Nagchi (or Dolma). Sengdeng is a very large wrathful tree and Nag mean Forest.
Hence, she is the Green Tara of the Sengdeng forest. She sits in a protection
mudra, gesture symbolizing the Three Jewels.
10. Jigten Sumle Gyalma
The title Jigten Sumle Gyalma means Tara who gains victory over all the three
worlds. Her special power is to protect us against distraction by worldly activities.
The eleventh Tara is named Phagma Norter Drolma. Phagma means “noble one” or
“supreme one”. Roughly translated, Norter mean “bestowing riches.” So Phagma
Norter Drolma is the Noble Tara who bestows wealth.
Tara Norter Drolma is renowed as Tara the wealth-giver, who removes the
sufferings of poverty. With her intense wrathful energy, emanating the syllable
HUNG in all directions, she showers down wealth, joy, and satisfaction to every
single sentient being. This is not only physical wealth, such as plenty to eat and
nice clothes and money. It is also the wealth of capabilities and understanding,
which liberates beings from the poverty of ignorance. So her name is more fully
understood as “ lady who liberates from every sort of poverty.”
There is a beautiful story told about Tara and the great Indian master
Chandragomin, who taught at Nalanda Monastry in the ancient times. He was a
famous scholar, but very humble and poor, owning only his robes, howl, and the
text of Prajnaparamita. One day a poor beggar woman came to him in tears,
begging for a few alms so she could provide a dowry for her daughter. Having
nothing value to give her, Chandragomin began to cry. He prayed to a picture of
Tara Painted on the wall of his room. The image quickl came to life, took off her
(now quite real) silken clothes and ornaments of gold and jewels, and gave them to
him for the beggar woman’s dauther. The painting then returned to his wall and
was ever after known as the Naked Tara.

Tara Yulle Gyalma means, “Tara who gains victory over war.” She is renowed for
protecting against all the obstacles related with wars. She can reverse the march of
armies or stop the war completely. Her protection also applies inwardly, too, as she
stops hostile emotions born of conceptual thinking that disturb our awareness and
wisdom and might lead us to war like actions
