Mahatma Mandir draws inspiration from


the father of nation ,Mahatma Gandhi .
Mahatma Mandir aims at being a state-
of-the-art tribute to M K Gandhi, the
father of our nation .The Project is a
unique amalgamation of Design & Build
and EPC Turnkey construction, of a
museum based on Gandhi’s life . the
project demonstrates a philosophical
position of design where a healthy
expression of modernism and tradition
is achieved. The primary aim of the
project was to satisfy functional
requirements and make a lively public
place – both in space and time. An
Integral use of the available modern
technologies were explored to make it
interactive, educative and experiential.

It was built by Larsen & Toubro  and Shapoorji Pallonji And Company
Limited in two phases. Its planning and design is environment friendly.
Phase 1 of Mahatma Mandir was constructed in nine months .It includes
a convention centre, three big exhibition halls and small halls having
conferencing facility. Phase 2 includes construction of salt mound
memorial, a garden, a suspension bridge, wind mills and development of
parking space.

PHASE II
Pedestrian cable stay bridge
have cables which are
anchored in the RCC pylon
leading towards the Museum which is developed inside a
STRUCTURE FACADE

concrete conical structure, which depicts the salt mound of


the historical ‘Dandi march’. The cone of 300-foot diameter
&133-foot-tall accommodates the museum, spread over four
levels, named ‘Dandi Kutir’.
