Grammar 4 - used to

We use used to to talk about habits or things that happened regularly in the past but don’t happen now. After used to we
always use a verb in the base form. There is no change for singular / plural.

Affirmative Negative Questions Short answers


They used to live in Barcelona. We didn’t use to travel much. Did he use to travel a lot? Yes, he did.
I used to play football every day. She didn’t use to speak Spanish. Did they use to visit you often? No, he didn’t.
Yes, they did.
No, they didn’t.
