6.2)
The Structure which we are using in our company is “Hierarchichal”. This Structure is one of
the most common Organizational Structure among the companies in the world. Hierarchical
itself means ‘arranged in order of ranks’, so in this type of structure there are levels set for the
employees in the organization. If we look at the diagram of any hierarchical based company we
can see that, first there is a CEO (Chief Executive Officer) or MD (Managing Director) who is at
the top most level. Then there comes department heads or chiefs and so on.
We are using Hierarchical structure to segregate the duties of our employees in the company
because our aim is to provide our customers with the clothing of specialized workers. This
structure is helping our employees to solve their problems quickly by taking help of their
immediate managers/deptt. Heads. On the other hand this structure is benefical for our company
in the following ways:
i)As hierarchical structure clearly tells our employes where the path leads and where it ends, the
are fully motivated when they are doing their assigned tasks for promotion opportunities.
ii)We have Managers who are skilled in their specific areas as in the other types organizational
structures there might be some managers who oversees workers with many functions wich can
result in manager getting fed-up and not doing his work properly.
iii) In Hierarchichal structure, employees work to fill a common role. This helps our employees
do their assigned tasks better and in less time to contribute towards the same outcome.
6.3)
In our company, we have 4 main departments which are working together for a common goal.
The departments are:
A) Information Technology:

technology. This department provides technical support like technical assistance to clients.
System Administration is also looked over by this dept which installs and repairs computers and
are responsible for LAN and WAN. Besides that, this department has set up an application of
our clients to customize their clothing according to their needs.
B) Human Resource:
The main function of HR department is of recruiting employees that looks over hiring and firing
of employees and uses software for job applicants. They also looks over the HR policies and

department. Besides these, the concerns of the workers are also handled by this dept. like
disciplinary issues, benefits and workplace rules etc.

information to managers in making strategic decisions. This looks at all the incomes and
expenses to ensure enough funds are available to meet day to day expenses. This department
helps our senior managers in budget forcasts and provide annual reports and measures the
progress of our compoany.

eco-friendly. The processes for manufacturing the products are such that doesn’t harm the
enviornment that much i.e hand embriodary and hand stitching techniques that leads to less use
of machines. In preparation of Jackets the system of synthetics is used to provide the equivalent
warmth instead using the animal skin used by the other companies.
4) Customer Retention:
To make the HDMS company successful it is important to retain the existing customers which
can be achieved by providing incentive schemes to the cutomers e.g giving loyalty cards ,
discounts etc to make it difficult for the existing customer to switch to other products.
Question 8
2. We will use the Customer Loyalty Software to keep a record of the sales generated by
each customer, this software will reward points to the customer’s account and throughthis
the customers can redeem their points on the next purchase and receive discounts and free
vouhers.
5. We make sure that our designers get the best equipment and environment to innovate

provided them with Edraw Max which is a graphic utility that makes it very simple for
them to create professional-lookng diagrams and charts.
. Question 9
10.1) Issue I
As our company is newly set up, we are facing the issue of forecasting of demands. As a new
comer in the market, we are not known of the demand records, therefore what quantity to
produce, what to sell where, what design, sizes and color are the problems to our company.
10.2) Issue II
Cost of production in the clothing line keeps on changing. The costs that we obtained before the
starting of the company were different from what we produced so that resulted in rising costs of
production.
10.4) Issue IV
Another issue that we faced was the promotion and publicity costs that we had to spend as a new
comer in the market. Giving free samples and spending on the advertising and marketing cost us
lot more then what we expected.
10.5) Issue V
As a new entrant, we faced competition issues. In the clothing industry, there are a lot of
competitors, so we had a hard time showing up and positioning our place in the market.
Question 11.0
IT Planning
System Development
Network Service and maintenance
Computer and application maintenance
IT Training
-IT planning should be in-sourced because it consist of high risk and fear that organizations skill
would become obsolete if outsourced. It would be better if IT Planning is done inside because no
one would better know how to utilize the technology resources than other. And also the cost will
be minimal.
-System Development must be in-sourced as its important because of the privacy as it requires
considerable security. If it will be outsourced there will be risk of competitor monitoring the
operations of the business. They might copy the designs or ideas of the HDMS which will turn in
possible drawbacks to us.
-Network Service & Maintenance is the key factor for the businesses it affects directly on the
cost and productivity. It should also be in-sourced as the information will be secured and its good
for confidential or sensitive network service and maintenance. Obviously firm would have to
deal with inadequate support from management to acquire needed resources but time available
in-house to complete the tasks.
First role of the CIO in our company is the ‘strategy’. The CIO partakes in the improvement and
administration of the business method. E.g. our CIO makes the strategy for improvements in our
business.
Interpretation –
The CIO has to have the business savvy as well as the technical savvy to interpret the business
needs in a technology context.
Acting as the intermediary between those with those who establish the business goals and
strategies and those who know how to implement the technology is one of the key roles of CIO
in our company.
Communication –
Developing a communication plan to let all the stakeholders know what progress is being made
on getting the information that they need is the next big area of focus for the CIO.
Communication at all levels is vital. The information about progress is almost as important as
getting the information for business decisions itself.
Delivery –
Delivery of information is next big area for the CIO. Putting together plans for projects that
meet deadlines and budgets goes a long way to determining the success or failure of a CIO.
Delivering information at the right time to the right person is what the CIO does every day. If
that information is faulty or late -- even if it's not be the CIO’s fault -- they will still get blamed
because the tools of modern business are technology based. Being a CIO is one of the toughest
jobs in any company because you have to know everything about the business, everything about
technology and be able to clearly explain it to people who haven’t a clue or don’t care about one
or the other.
Execution: Our CIO is involved in the execution of the basics – keeping systems up and
running, while keeping close tabs on the organization’s overall IT spend.
