Melchizedek was a man

Hebrews 7 vs 1-3

For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from
the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first
being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of
peace; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end
of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. (KJV)

The life of Melchizedek has been misunderstood by many people. Some say that the rendering
"without father, without mother without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life"
means he was not born, he appeared from heaven directly to the earth. This assertion is very wrong,
it has no corroboration in the scriptures. No man has ever come to this earth without the medium of
being born, even our Lord Jesus Christ was born by a woman. Others say that Melchizedek was God
who became man and met Abraham to collect tithe from him. This is also not correct, because from
scripture the only place God became man was in Christ. Apart from that there is no reference of God
becoming man in the scriptures. Some then go further to say that MELCHIZEDEK was Jesus Christ
who came from heaven to meet Abraham. How terrible can that be, this is very wrong because until
Christ was manifested as man through virgin Mary, there was no the man Jesus anywhere, neither in
heaven or on earth. The first time the word became flesh was when Christ was born through Mary.

Listen to Jesus;

John 1 vs 18

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he
hath declared him. (KJV)

No man including Abraham.

John 5 vs 37 (KJV)

And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his
voice at any time, nor seen his shape. (KJV)

The person Abraham met couldn't have been God. Melchizedek was full man with parents. He
became the king and priest of God. He lived and died like any other man. What then is the meaning
of "without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of
life, but made like unto the son of God; abideth a priest continually" In Exodus 28, God selected the
family of Aaron in the Levi tribe to be priests unto him. There was a record of the genealogy of all
the priests. The names of the parents of every priest was in the record of the genealogy.

Exodus 28 vs 1- 2

Then bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel,
to serve me as priests—Aaron and Aaron's sons, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. (KJV).

There was a record of everybody born in the tribe of Levi or in the genealogy of Aaron. Record of
father and mother. There was also the record of when one becomes a priest and when his
priesthood ends.
Ezra 2 vs 36-40

The priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy and three. The
children of Immer, a thousand fifty and two. The children of Pashur, a thousand two hundred forty
and seven. The children of Harim, a thousand and seventeen. The Levites: the children of Jeshua and
Kadmiel, of the children of Hodaviah, seventy and four. (KJV)

Anybody whose name was not found in the record of genealogy of Levi was not allowed to be priest
or was excluded from the priesthood.

Ezra 2 vs 60 – 62

The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two. And
of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai;
which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name: These
sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found:
therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood. (KJV)

Melchizedeks record was not found in the genealogy of the priests because he existed before the
Aaronic genealogy which is the genealogy of priests. There was no history of his record in the
Levitical priesthood. It was not that he was not born by parents or had no mother and father. It was
a matter of documentation because he was not from the tribe of Levi. "Made like unto the son of
God "refers to the similarities of the priesthood of Jesus to that of Melchizedek. He was not the son
of God but was figurative of Christ Jesus. There are things seen in him or about him that stood as a
figure of Christ Jesus. Jesus's priesthood was after the order of Melchizedek not after the Aaronic
priesthood.

Hebrews 7: vs 11

If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,)
what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not
be called after the order of Aaron? (KJV)

Jesus came from the tribe of Judah not the tribe of Levi, therefore no record of Jesus's priesthood is
found in the Levitical priesthood similar to Melchizedek. There was no record of when Melchizedek
was born or died or when his priesthood ended, similarly, the priesthood of Jesus has no end, Jesus
remains the high priest forever.

Hebrews 7 vs 17

For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (KJV)
The priesthood of MELCHIZEDEK foreshadowed the priesthood of Jesus. Therefore, Melchizedek is a
man born on earth with parents. Therefore, the rendering "without father, without mother, without
descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life, but made like unto the son of God;
abideth a priest continually" is about no record of him in the genealogy of the Levitical priesthood.
