Theatre Safety

Theatre safety simply means to lower the incidents of injury which could occur while in the
theatre house.

The following are some safety practices to be followed:

1. Regular inspections of equipment and performance space.


2. Have more than one exits
3. Have fire extinguisher and first aid kits
4. Do not have heavy objects hanging over the house or stage.
5. There should be no broken glass or sharp objects on the floor of the theatre or in the
house.
6. There must be no real weapons/props that could be dangerous.
7. All staff personnel must be aware of an emergency plan.
8. There must be no fires in the theatre house.
9. Live wires must not be exposed.

No eating or drinking outside of designated areas.
