Hygienic behavior is an important theme that needs to be explored deeply.

However hygienic behavior during the menstrual period does not just happen, it
comes from a learning process because of someone understanding about the
positive or negative behaviors impact that associated with menstruation. This
study aims to determine the influence of knowledge and attitudes about the
personal hygiene of menstruation to the practice of personal hygiene during
menstruation of teenage in SMK Negeri 8 Medan. This is a descriptive analytic
study by using quantitative approach. The number of respondents are 87 people
with proportional stratified random sampling technique that is taking sample in
each strata (classes) in proportion so that everyone has equal opportunity.
Presentation of data using frequency distribution tables. The results showed that
knowledge are classified as good (77%), the attitude are classified as good
(85.1%) and practice are classified as medium (54%). From multivariate
analysis found an effect of knowledge about personal hygiene personal hygiene
of menstruation to the practice of teenage during menstruation (p = 0.022), and
attitudes about personal hygiene personal hygiene of menstruation to the
practice of teenage during menstruation (p = 0,021). Attitudes has the highest
influences to the practice of teenage during menstruation in SMK Negeri 8
Medan (p = 0,021). From the results, it is suggested to the Education
Department to provide training that is facilitated by the local Health Department
regarding reproductive health education to schools, especially high school in the
working area, and for the school, especially SMK Negeri 8 Medan for providing
learning about the importance of reproductive health education for students
