VISION
The City College of El Salvador envisioned as a public Higher Learning Institution in Northern Mindanao that will EMPOWER the Citizenry and provide social inclusion of
the disadvantaged sector through Education to cut the cycle of poverty by producing globally competitive professionals.

MISSION
It shall pursue a multi-sectoral agenda which includes:

1. Training of competent and responsive human resource for community and industry requirements.
2. Intellectual formation that generates knowledge for people empowerment and sustainable development.
3. Bridge boundaries across communities and other institutions.
4. Be a laboratory for educational research and innovation.
GOALS

1. Strengthen instruction and training for skills in thrust areas of agriculture, fisheries, commerce, industry, manufacturing and tourism.
2. Develop competent professionals to serve as a human resource pool for the growing number of industries, government agencies and private enterprises.
3. Cater the upliftment of the marginalized sector and cultural communities, indigenous people access to quality education for holistic development.

AB-ENG GOAL:
The graduates of Arts in English are effective communicators, empowered, environmentally concerned imbued with human ethics and values, motivated to seek personal
and professional advancement vital for the effective functioning of their career opportunities in English language research, teaching in the academe, language training in
business resource management and in the industry, and in other work contexts.

At the end of the first year - first semester, the students would have a full understanding of the basic general education subjects.
At the end of the year level, students will have full understanding of the basic foundations of the English Language program. They will be able to enhance the four
communication skills such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening. They will also have the ability to communicate and interact with other people that would help them
work on group projects and class activities.

READINGS IN THE PHILIPPINE HISTORY


The students would understand the present situation of the Philippines better by analyzing materials from different media-documents, pictures, videos, and
digital sources. They participate in the writing of history. Visits in historical sites, museum, and shrines is conducted to enrich students’ historical
understanding and appreciation that lead to a deeper engagement with the country’s history and culture.

ART APPRECIATION
The students should be able to approach a work of art from a perspective informed by the history and tradition of art and the social milieu in which it was
produced as well as the perspective of aesthetics. Such an approach would require a written appraisal of the meaning and value of the works of art taken
up in class and possibly some within the immediate vicinity of the student’s experience. The written essays must clearly demonstrate not only
understanding and appreciation of a specified work of art, but also a sense of the work’s importance in life and history.

THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD


The learners would be able to compare their society with others. Their experiences outside the Philippines may provide the country’s current problems.
The awareness of what is happening in the world would give warnings about what not to do. This will give an opportunity for the students to interact as
many Filipinos would like to work abroad so the focus of their discussions can serve as an orientation towards globalization. Sharing ideas and cultures
may spark new interests and concerns that the students want to pursue.

At the end of the year level, the students will show judiciousness and resourcefulness in making personal and professional decisions. Engage in research undertakings that
respond to societal issues. Manifest fidelity to the teachings of Christianity, mediated by the SAVIOR doctrines, in the continuous deepening of faith and spirituality in
dealing with the new life situations and challenges.

MATHEMATICS IN THE MODERN WORLD


The curriculum highlights activities towards the development of problem-solving and critical thinking. It showcases the application of mathematical tools in
daily life such as managing personal finances at home, school, and in various situations.

PURPOSIVE COMMUNICATION
The students must internalize the importance of one’s purpose for communication and to practice the use of different modalities, written texts, audio and
video recordings. In addition, students do pair work, role playing, simulation, and viewing on-line materials.

THE LIFE AND WORKS OF RIZAL


The issue on the heroism of Rizal would be discussed. The students would gain direction, courage and determination to move forward in their in journey towards life. They
recognize Rizal’s ideals, thoughts that are still valued in today’s present conditions of the society. Rizal’s life has fostered the development of moral character, discipline,
citizenship and vocational efficiency for the students to emulate. His works and writings impart the source of love of country.

ETHICS
Dimensions of ethical human practices would be discussed, understood and practiced as what it means to live as a free human being. The interaction is engaged in the
various conceptions of philosophers and their philosophical traditions that would provide students with new perspectives of insightful human behavior and to live with it.

SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIETY


The students must be able to appreciate, in broad terms, the societal impact of developments in science and technology at the global and national level.
They must familiarize the history of science and technology globally—from the prehistoric era all the way to today’s advances in sciences and technology
and similarly in the Philippines, including science policy.
