STONKS- MOCK STOCK EVENT

Expected Participation:
25 teams (Teams of 2)
Mediums used for the event:
1. Simulators of potential sponsors (like MoneyControl, TrackInvest, Stock Market
Challenge) *
2. Mail (for report submission)
*If collaboration with sponsors doesn’t go through, then either their simulator will still be used, or a self-
designed one on Google Sheets.

Duration:
2+5+2 days (Briefing + Trading + Report)
Description:
This is a two-fold Simulated Stock Market event that will test participants’ spontaneity and
analytical skills. With real-time fluctuating prices of companies in the simulator, the
participating teams will have to build a profitable portfolio for a client by trading in stocks
and subsequently submitting a report that will amplify their approach and analysis used for
choosing their respective portfolios.
The trading will go on for 5 days and the report submission will take place 2 days after the
trading has stopped, making Stonks a 7-day event.
1. Briefing (T-2)
Teams will be given information about their client and they will have to prepare a portfolio
for him.
Considering the current scenario, Mr. X, a self-made man, is looking for ways to invest his
savings and generate passive income. He is 26 years old and has the capacity to take risks.
You are supposed to manage his portfolio, for which has invested INR 10,00,000 (flexible).
2. Trading (5 days)
The participating teams will then trade for 5 days.
Day 1: They are only allowed to invest in companies on Day 1. By the end of day 1, they can
only have INR 50,000 in cash at the most.
Day 2 – Day 4: The trading will continue and at least 8.5 lakhs has to be invested in stocks by
the end of each day.
Day 5: This will be the last day of trading and there is no limit for cash-in-hand.
3. Report (2 days)
The teams have to submit a report in PDF format, and it should contain the following:
 Detailed portfolio summary
 Reasoning behind transactions
 General analysis used (Fundamental, Technical etc)
 Client-specific analysis
 News and current information taken into consideration
 Long term outcome
Winning Criteria:
A cumulative score will be generated for each team based on the profitability of their
portfolio and the viability of their report (which will be judged by an external judge). The
winners will be decided according to this cumulative score.
