From the Principal’s Desk…
Dear Shri Family
Namaste!
Another year has flown past and I fondly reminisce the
beautiful moments we spent at school that have become
beautiful memories to cherish. As a leader I believe in
developing the attitude of acknowledging similarities,
embracing differences, respecting diversity yet retaining
our uniqueness and individuality.

Expressing oneself without inhibition, the ability to articulate one’s thoughts and to
present it collectively in the form of a students’ magazine is an annual ritual I look
forward to. Usually only the best articles and write-ups find a place in school
magazines. Since, 100% participation is the mantra at TSUS that we follow in every
aspect, it has reflected in the students’ magazine as well. It's a great pleasure and
satisfaction to see a bouquet of expressions of Shriites that have manifested in
various forms. My dream is to enable every shriite to express his/her thoughts in the
form of words or drawings without an inhibition of command over the language or
artistic skills.

Apart from creating such platforms at school, I strongly urge parents to encourage
creative writing and inculcating the reading habit at home without the pressure to be
perfect. This helps children blossom and become bold and fearless individuals with
opinions. Let us do our bit as educators and parents to give flight to their imagination
and build a strong foundation of happy learning and free expression to every Shriite.

Renowned writers, authors, editors and artists of the future could be walking the
corridors of TSUS, Hyderabad – who knows.

From the Academic Head’s Desk…
Dear Shri Family
Namaste!
We are coming up with the second edition of Shri Darpan.
I want to share a small incident from my life……. When I
was first learning to ride a bicycle, I was nervous and held
the handlebars hard. My mother promised that she
wouldn’t let go of the back of my seat. Slowly I got the
hang of it and became steadier because it was not all that difficult. In fact, I began to
enjoy it. Seeing this, mom slowly let go of my cycle but continued to run behind me so
that she is there if I fell. This run turned into a slow walk and a day came when she
stood there watching me cycle. I was not aware of what was happening behind my
back. I could not believe my eyes when I looked back and saw my mother few metres
away applauding. It certainly made me more confident and my trust in my capabilities
grew further.
This is exactly what the school and teachers do for all children. The school teaches us
all how to get on the cycle and promises to be there when children wobble. Teachers
start letting go of the cycles but keep running behind their students to make sure they
manage and succeed.
At this time, I can only ask all my Shriites to enjoy new experiences, begin to step out
of their comfort zones, push boundaries and learn what they are capable of doing and
put their minds into it.
The only one thing I feel sets TSUS apart from other schools is the relationship we form
with our students. Every teacher here believes in everything that a child does and wants
every child to speak his mind. It equips every student with the confidence, experiences
and relationships to be able to ride that bicycle on their own.
I am going to end with my favourite quote. Maya Angelou said, “I‘ve learned that people
will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget
how you made them feel.”

From the HoD- Shri Sparsh ‘s Desk
Mona Lisa!
We all know that ‘Mona Lisa’ is a painting by Leonardo da
Vinci. One of the notable features is the eyes, the gaze.
The observer feels that the soft, neutral gaze is fixated on
him/her. The eyes of the portrait seem to follow the viewer.
We have all general information about children on our
fingertips. It helps to teach, care and develop a profile.
What about the hard data? The triangle of hard data:
attitude, aptitude and attainment. This triangle needs to be
used effectively. It has the power to transform the learning and wellbeing of every
student. Learning and teaching is ‘looking at you’. It is the Mona Lisa effect. Think of
the way the Mona Lisa’s eyes appear to look at you and only you as you walk past –
that’s how we want our students to feel. It requires careful planning to bring this in
practical terms.
The emotional health of children is vital for their development, attainment, happiness
and wellbeing. They may be stressed, anxious, scared of failure, lack in confidence.
Let’s develop these in young brains while they retain the plasticity to change respond.
The most instrumental people, being the parents, and teachers. Building a relationship
first is important for teaching. The child may be wearing a mask and needs little help.
In the words of Andrew Moffat, teaching should be “I like you, I like being your teacher.
Let’s have a great time together.” Do everything you can to understand the students
and to see life and learning through their eyes.
We need to arm ourselves with a broad and deep understanding of what makes a child
remarkable. We need to be treasure hunters and mechanics. As treasure hunters, let’s
dig for the riches in each child. As mechanics, support and adjust their cognitive and
attitudinal machinery.
To summarise, we’ve found that knowing where the key issues lie when it comes to
factors that directly contribute to educational success or failure means we can really
put into motion our ‘Mona Lisa’ approach to teaching and learning. Let’s make children
feel safe, secure, confident, successful and happy to help them make good choices
and be good human beings. Let’s provide a place, an opportunity for children to bloom
and celebrate differences.

Student Council Reports
Chief Editor:
Being a Chief Editor is both fun and exciting. Reading and writing has always been my
passion. My dream is to become an author. When I heard that TSUS was starting a
school magazine, I wanted to be a part of it. When I was elected as the Chief Editor, I
vowed to myself that I would give my best. In my role as Chief Editor, I had to take
interviews of all chief guests. This gave me a great opportunity to meet eminent
personalities and learn about their journeys. I also wrote articles and had to help select
a title, a logo etc. for the magazine. It was an extra effort, but all good things only come
with hard work. It was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed it. If you ever get a
chance to become a chief editor, my suggestion is to grab it. I am proud to be TSUS’s
first Chief Editor. I hope you enjoy reading our magazine!

Head Girl:
My journey as a Head Girl at TSUS has been wonderful and I am enjoying every moment
of it. I vividly remember the moment when they declared the results, and my name was
announced as the Head Girl. The moment just froze for a second. That moment and
each time I wear the badge of the Head Girl are moments which will be cherished by
me forever. I have tried my best during the year to perform all the duties as a Head Girl
very diligently. Becoming the Head Girl has been a very humbling experience for me. I
am grateful to the school for giving me this opportunity.

Head Boy:
First of all, as the Head boy of our esteemed school, I have experienced a magnificent
first-year in this school. This is a really unique school that has very special features. For
example, I have never seen a school that is so committed to the environment, and
inspires the students to become really good citizens. To me, taking the oath as the Head
boy and holding The Shri Ram Universal School’s official flag was something I can’t
express in words. This has been a very eventful year for me, which has helped me grow
as a person, sensitive to nature and nurturing relationships. I also realized that I have
the potential to inspire and lead students.

Shri Paryavaran:
This year, in July I was selected as the school’s Head Shri Paryavaran. As my initiative,
of environment, there has been many advancements. Our school had launched a
programme called plant and promote. In this programme, Shriites planted saplings in
their home in September and took care of their plant and submitted the report of it.
This had planted at least 150 trees in Hyderabad. Apart from trees, we Shriites

monitored the food being wasted during the lunchtime. We motivated the students to
eat everything in the plate and serve as much as they want. This has immensely reduced
the quantity food wasted. We also spread some awareness of the urgent need in climate
change and various other environmental issues. Our school has also banned the use of
foil, polythene and thermocol. We also had in event in which we showed our creativity
by making models. These models did not contain any harmful materials like plastic or
spray paint. - Vihaan Agarwal, VIIB

Shri Sparsh:
This year, 2019-20 has been a year filled of lots of fun. All the Sparsh children were
involved in various activities which took place in this academic year. They attended the
Diwali Mela at Sahasra – A center for learning and thoroughly enjoyed the day. All the
Shriites wouldn’t have been able to without the support of the Shri Sparsh department.
Shri Sparsh also had a stall on All About Future. They spoke about how the airplanes
will be in the future. All the Shri Parents were extremely proud of their children. The
Shri Sparsh department is incomplete without the Shri Educators who always support
the Shriites in every way possible. I would also like to thank Manasvi Devineni our
deputy Shri Sparsh Head who has always supported me throughout my journey.

Shri Dayitv:
The academic year 2019-2020 has been very productive. The Shriites participated very
actively in the cleanliness drive all of us cooperated with each other and made our class
and our surroundings clean such as the cafeteria and the chikoo grove, many Shriites
also cleaned the busses. The students of grade-6 visited the blind school and interacted
with the student there. On our school mega event All about future our shri parents
willingly donated blood that saved many lives. Our school also had the Earn and Donate
programme this where all the student worked hard and donated the money earned. In
the joy of giving week our Shriites donated groceries stationary and toiletries. I would
like to thank manjula ma’am who coordinated with the NGO we were donating to. I
would also like to thank manasvi boyapati our deputy shri dayitv head for supporting
me throughout the journey. - Nishka Ravi, VII B

Shri Army:
When I got selected as the Head Shri Army, discipline captain, of my school, my duties
were to ensure that people don’t fight, and also to make sure that the elder students
don’t trouble the younger ones. I helped resolve some problems regarding these topics
like stopping people from fighting and running in the corridors. Once there was an issue
and some students were speaking inappropriately. We, Shri Army members counselled
them and we got to know that it was not repeated. I should thank the members of the
Shri Army - Shreya Kumar, Aditya Chaukhani, Yash Mehta, Manasvi Reddy, who make
the school a more disciplined and a better place to study.

House Captain Reports
Dhairya House:
I am proud to be a Shriite. I joined The Shri Ram Universal School in the academic year 2018-
19. I stood for the post of Dhairya House Captain, and it was the most memorable day when I
got to know I was elected as the Dhairya House Captain. I also realized that I had to take many
responsibilities towards my house and also towards my school. Many students of Dhairya
House have represented our school and have won several trophies and medals. As a Captain of
Dhairya House I have learnt a lot. I realized that if we all work together as a team we can
achieve more. - Shriya Sinha, VII B

Abhay House:
It was a great 2019-20 academic year especially for Abhay house. We (the house captain and
house prefect of Abhay house) had a lot of responsibilities. Our main role was to lead the house
to success with the help of our House mistress, Vijay a Ma’am, who sets an example for the
students. To do so we had house meetings that were conducted, to discuss about the house
board, discipline and make the students understand what our house emblem stands for. The
Phoenix is a unique bird, resembling an eagle but with rich red and gold plumage. It is
extremely brave and that is what the Abhay house students have shown throughout this
academic year. We would also discuss about what to make for the house board based on the
theme. I would like to say that each and everyone deserves a pat for working hard to make our
house the best. -Dhanvi Boyapati, VII A

Lakshya House:
As I look back on my journey as a house captain I feel grateful to the school committee for
giving me this opportunity. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment in this journey and
worked towards the goals and tasks assigned to me in this role. During the course of the year,
our house won many prizes and participated wholeheartedly in the various events conducted
in the school. I am especially grateful to our House master and House teachers for all their
support and encouragement through the year. I look forward to taking up new responsibilities
in the next academic year and contribute to the school to the best of my abilities.

Nishchay House:
The year 2019-20 has been very fruitful for Nishchay House. Every day the students would
come smiling to me and ask me with great enthusiasm, “House captain, what should we make
for the house board? I used to be simply delighted at their constant support and eagerness to
contribute to our house. With all the values of the month, the students in our house including
me have learnt a lot of useful things. I am proud to be a part of my house. We have a very
supportive House Mistress, Himavathi Ma’am and very supportive teachers without whom we

Christopher C. Doyle
Vanshika: Namaste sir! It is such an
honor to have you here!!

Rishika: Yes, thank you so mu:ch for


coming to our school.

Rishika: Sir, your first novel was The


‘Mahabharata Secret.’ What led you to
writing ‘Mahabharata Quest’?

Christopher C. Doyle: The


Mahabharata Secret was not written as part of a series, because I didn’t at
first whether it would get published. And, after it was published, I didn’t
know how well the book will do. After the book did very well, then. People
were asking for more. So then I decided to start a series now!
Suhani: Yes, ok. Sir, did you ever want to keep a pen name?

Christopher C. Doyle: No- I like being known by my actual name. Lots of


people think this is my pen name. I get asked this a lot- “Is it your real name
or your pen name?”

Vanshika: Mr. Doyle sir, what are some tips that you think all aspiring
authors should be aware of?

Christopher C. Doyle: Hmm…The only tip I give aspiring authors is to read.


I tell them to just read, read, and READ before you start writing. Yes, just
keep practicing, and get used to the concept of writing. But, writing without
reading is not very entertaining. The more you read, the more exposure
you get. I always encourage people who want write to read all kinds of
books- not just the kind of books you like. You should fiction, non-fiction,
so that you see different authors, different styles, how people put words
together, how they mould the characters. The more you read, the more you
learn!

Vanshika: Wow, great thoughts sir. What is the best writing tip someone
has given you?

Christopher C. Doyle: Actually, no one ever gave me writing tips. I wish


someone had, because then I wouldn’t have gone through the learning
process and making mistakes! But….my teachers would always be there in
school to help me write. But it was more about getting your English

right, how you’re going to write your exam, and that kind of thing. And
later on when I started writing for magazines, journals, then there were
editors. I would write and then they would polish that. So no one ever gave
tips. Unfortunately,

Suhani: Apart from the books you wrote, which book do you mostly like?

Christopher C. Doyle: Oh! That’s a difficult question! There are so many


books I like, I read a lot! So, it’s very difficult to pick one book.
But...hmm...the Mahabharata is the center of everything I write. So, if I had
to choose, I would really wish I had written the prophecy, as it is
so rich.

Rishika: Sir, do you have any tips for us students?

Christopher C. Doyle: Hm, the only thing I would say is when you are
writing the book, make sure that you are enjoying it. Because id=f you
don’t, the readers won’t enjoy it either. That is the biggest thing.

Suhani: Yes, thank you so much for everything.

My True Inspiration!
Michael Jeffrey Jordan is a former basketball player. He is
considered as the greatest basketball player of all time. He
won six championships and was the Finals MVP (Most
Valuable Player) many times. He played for the NBA
teams Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards. Michael
Jordan led the Bulls to a record of 72 wins in the 1995-96 NBA
Season. He earned the nickname of "Air Jordan" due to his leaping ability which
was shown by performing slam dunks from the free throw line in slam dunk
contests. Which is very impressive. Michael Jordan won two Olympic gold medals
with Team USA. In his first season of basketball he was named to the All-Star
team which started his career as a basketball player.
Early Life
Jordan’s family was not that rich. His father taught him to work hard and not be
tempted by street life. Jordan loved sports but failed to make his high school
basketball team. He didn’t get disheartened and practiced very hard to make it to
the team the very next year. In Jordan's first season at North Carolina he was
named Rookie of the Year for 1982. The team won the championship mostly
because of the legend himself ‘Michael Jordan’. HE is my TRUE inspiration!!!

Autobiography of a Trash Bin


I am a trash bin. People throw trash in me. I am very happy to be trash bin because
I can keep the class clean. My parents are one of the oldest trash bins in the school.
My dad is in the principal’s office while my mom is in the academic head’s office.
My day starts when my friend Broom cleans the class and puts all the trash in me.
And that is my breakfast. When the bell rings for lunch I eagerly wait to get all
the leftover food from different homes. That delicious food is my lunch. When all
the children leave in the evening to their houses my friend broom is back to the
class to give me my next meal for the day and that is my dinner. My last meal for
the day. When the children do not throw trash into me their class teacher tells
them about cleanliness in the environment. Then they understand and throw the
trash into me. I am so glad to be a trash bin of Grade 7B!

Space
All available evidence points to the fact that the Universe is open and it is
ceaselessly expanding. Space means the whole universe, including the earth,
while outer space refers to space other than the earth; outer space begins where
the earth’s atmosphere ends and extends in all directions.
The observable universe has a diameter of 25 billion light years and the number
of galaxies it contains is still uncertain. Theories of space also differ, and these
are based on the flight of galaxies. Outer space is infinite; in fact, it is so vast that
the usual terrestrial units of measurement hardly suit its dimensions.
In space when a star dies it explodes and forms a black hole a black hole is
basically a region of space having a gravitational field so intense that no matter
or radiation can escape.

The Secret Garden


THE SECRET GARDEN is a famous novel
written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This novel
has a really impressive message. It’s about
‘positive thinking’ and to ‘believe in life’. I loved
how refreshing the book made me feel with its
beautiful description of a garden blooming to life
and the revival of the children into healthy,
happy kids. The book centers on Mary Lennox, a 10-year old girl who lived in
India but had to move to Yorkshire to live with her uncle- a supposedly grumpy
and ill-tempered man, after her parents passed away in a cholera epidemic. She
along with her maid’s brother, Dickon and her uncle’s son, Colin bring a garden
back to life and through their friendship and interacting with nature they also
become healthier and happier. I would suggest this book for 9 years and above. I
think adults and children should read it as it is a truly wondrous novel with a

The Joy of Giving
Every year, our school has this particular week called ‘The Joy of Giving Week’.
Each student from grades 4, 5 and 6 had made a card for the Support Staff of the
school, and the students of grade 6 had to hand them out. Each one of us was
given around 5 to 6 cards, which we had to distribute among the Support Staff.
In the end, I had two cards left, so I decided to give them to my bus Didi and the
driver. When I boarded the bus, I gave one card to Didi, and she thanked me. I
kept my bag in my seat and headed to the front of the bus. I gave the second card
to the driver. He also thanked me, along with a grateful smile. I felt very happy
that I had made at least two people smile that day.
The following day, I boarded the bus and sat with my friends. Suddenly, my
glance fell upon the driver’s seat. In front of the seat was the same card I had
given my driver the previous day. He had stuck it there so that he could see it
every day, and feel that he was appreciated. The moment I saw the card; the sight

A Meaningful Rebel
“She’s a rebel” or “he rebels against the system so much” is something we might
have heard. We may have wondered, what is a rebel? A rebel is someone who
breaks a certain rule or belief. The common phrase “rebels against the system” is
used for the same. When the idea of a ‘rebel’ comes in our head, we would
probably picture a girl or boy with a lot of piercing and dressed in black, a
similar image also coming for the word ‘goth’. Contrary to our assumption, a
rebel does not have to look that way. One of the biggest rebels we know was
Mahatma Gandhi. Of course, if we compare a picture of him to what we often
picture when thinking of a rebel, they differ so much that it is almost comical.
Rebelling is not a ‘bad’ thing to do, when rebelling for the right thing, like
Malala Yousafzai. Of course, there are some rules that do us good and prevent
damage. Rebelling against them would be useless. There is a big difference
between being a meaningful rebel and one that rebels for many and all things.

Time Waits for No One
July 4, 2019

Sarah Blaze screamed in joy as she rode her pure white stallion, Moonlight, across
the meadows. Her wavy black hair danced on her shoulders as the crisp morning
breeze hit her face. She kept on riding until she heard a distant sound of a bell
ringing. Lunch was ready!
As she dismounted her horse, a blonde girl ran out of the nearest house and
bumped right into Sarah. She looked up meekly and mumbled an apology. Sarah
tried to look angry, but with her lips twitching, she ended up laughing. Her
younger sister tilted her head to her left, a sign of confusion. ‘Watch where you’re
going, Colette!’ said Sarah, looking down with amusement. Colette grinned,
causing small dimples to form on her cheeks. Sarah wrapped her arm around her
sister and together they went inside their house. An hour later, Sarah yelled, ’I’m
going out to ride Moonlight, Mother!’ She dashed out of the house. A moment
later, a woman appeared near the front door, her straight black hair tied into a
thick braid. ‘Sarah! Sarah, come here for a minute!’ she said, putting down her
laundry basket and wiping her hands on her apron. Sarah jogged back into the
living room. ‘Yes, Mother?’ she asked. ‘Your cousin, Audrey, is coming to town
today evening and is only staying till 7pm, so be at home by four’. Mrs. Blaze
picked up her basket and returned to her work. Sarah grinned. She had many
cousins, but Audrey was her favorite. She couldn’t wait to see her again!
Come on Moonlight, you can run faster than that!’ Sarah patted Moonlight’s
head as they galloped across the meadows for the second time that day. She rode
for what seemed like minutes, but was actually hours. As she finally forced
herself to get down, she noticed that her shadow was a bit too long for the late
afternoon sun. Only then did she realize that the sun was setting on the horizon.
‘Oh, no!’ cried Sarah. Her face turned from rosy pink to pale white. She ran down
the road and burst inside her house. On the couch sat her mother. ‘I’m so sorry,
Mother! I lost track of time! Where’s Audrey?’ she looked around the room
frantically. Her mother stared at her, her twinkling blue eyes now as cold as ice
as she replied. ‘She went back to her home. She said she was looking forward to
meeting you, but you didn’t turn up’. Sarah hung her head and put her hands on
her face. ‘If only I hadn’t been so foolish!’ she sobbed. ‘I should have remembered!
Who knows when Audrey will come again?’

Is now a good time to come?’ said a voice from behind. Sarah spun around and
gasped. Audrey was standing near the door, her hands on her hips and a huge
grin on her face. She was three years older to Sarah and was about a foot taller
than her. Her short blonde hair fell on her face as she tackled Sarah into a hug.
‘Audrey! Aren’t you supposed to be at home now?’ asked Mrs. Blaze. Audrey’s
green eyes glinted mischievously as she replied. ‘I missed the bus to come see
Sarah’ she said casually, patting Sarah’s head, who still couldn’t believe what just
happened. Mrs. Blaze cleared her throat. ‘Well then, let’s go to Sarah’s room and
see if we can add an extra bed there.’ Audrey let go of Sarah and ran up the stairs.
Sarah started to follow her, but her mother stopped her. ‘I hope you learnt your
lesson, Sarah’ she said. ‘Time waits for no one and it is up to you to make the
most of it.’

Dark Chocolate- Really Unhealthy or Just a Myth?
We all have probably had chocolate at some point. There are three categories of
chocolate- white chocolate (which doesn’t have any cocoa in it!), milk chocolate
(in between white and dark chocolates) and dark chocolate. Dark chocolate has
varying levels of bitterness in it, depending on the sugar, milk and cocoa ratio.
They generally have 50-55% of dark chocolate in it. If your parents stop you
from buying dark chocolate, well, fellow dark-chocolate lovers, here are some
advantages you can tell them. Scientists say that a daily ‘dose’ or intake of 30-60
grams is healthy for us. It also has caffeine, but doesn’t keep you awake as the
amount of caffeine in it is really less in comparison to coffee or tea. Good dark
chocolate is rich in fibre, iron and other
minerals. Cocoa and dark chocolate also
have way more powerful antioxidants
than most other foods. It also may
protect our skin from the sun. Also, a
little nibble of it every now and then
helps adults lose weight as it makes us
feel fuller. Last but definitely not the least, it’s extremely delicious and great for
the ‘flavonoids’ on our tongue.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness
Cleanliness is the state of having a clean, neat, organized environment. Our life
can be way easier if we follow cleanliness. Cleanliness is essential not only for us
but also our surrounding people, then why don’t we follow it?
Not being clean can lead to consequences. Having an
organized surrounding makes it
easier for us to find things. We can save a
lot of time by organizing our things
once and maintaining it and
whenever we need it, we can get it in a jiffy,
instead of spending time searching for it and
then keeping it somewhere and forgetting it. If we
don’t take care of the cleanliness, we or
someone else may catch diseases because
of the microbes spread by garbage. We
also should take care of our own
personal hygiene, if we each take care of our own hygiene then we can make a
difference. Our personal hygiene includes the air we breathe, the land around us,
the water we drink. This is what we need to take care of. One of the major
polluters is plastic. We can use our own cloth bags steel utensils and much more.
We should follow the three R’s- Reduce, Recycle and Reuse, and also the newly
introduced refuse.
The government can also watch the industries and factories for any waste being
wrongly disposed. They can also put a ban on plastics and a fine for using it. The
government has also take a step towards cleanliness by Swachh Bharat.

“No Pain, No Gain”, is a commonly used term used by people who work hard. It
means that suffering is on the path to success, and that there are no shortcuts for
it. The pain we get today is the strength we get tomorrow. If we make an effort
today it will pay tomorrow. Like we work hard for an exam, and the net day we
can get high marks. Education is one of the most important things. It is what we
build our future on. If we put in an effort now it will highly pay in the future.
Without hard work nothing grows but weeds. If we won’t put in hard

work now, then we won’t get a good result tomorrow. Many have made many
sacrifices, and put in a lot of hard work for the comfort we are getting today.

used in every house, every corner of the world.
No pain no gain is not only a statement; it is a line that makes people realize that

Indian intelligence bureau, finds unexplained corpses in a lab. Further examination
leads to doubts about bioterrorism.
The two incidents are seemingly unrelated. But as the story progresses, it turns
out that they are. The villains are on a quest, the clues for which are with Vijay,
Colin, and co. Ruthless as they are, the villains have a trump card up their sleeve.

What freedom means to me


To me, freedom is the liberty of making my own decisions, my own choices, and
leading my life with only my choices driving me forward.
Freedom is tearing down the boundaries that currently surround me and
greeting my life with open hands. However, we all are enclosed with some sort of
prison and enclosure that prevents us from truly cherishing the life we lead.
Personally I have felt imprisoned in several ways, as a student and a person.
Often as a person I wish to be free from judgement and criticism. I often feel as if
I live under a microscope with people watching, constantly assessing and
drawing conclusions from each step I take. From a student’s perspective, I feel
imprisoned from pressure of tests and feel lost in all the information floating
around in my head. I firmly believe that we should have more freedom from rules
and regulations in school and only be tested on subjects of our utmost interest.
All in all, life is a journey. It is a path. This path is built by us, crafted bit by bit,
step by step, from each choice and decision we make. Since this path is our road
to the future, it is vital that every choice we make is made by untied hands; by
utmost freedom of choices. To me, freedom can be found within, but it is up to us

How robots may be able to take over professions in the future.
Robots are amazing, and probably even the first word that comes in
your mind when you think about ‘Future’. When you learn about
robots, you will realize that robots can be much more than just
personalized assistants to help you with everything. With
more developed technology, robots can take over professions.
Robots can become engineers, surgeons, police officers,
cooks, waiters, maybe even start their own business if
intelligent enough! Although, this doesn’t mean that we should
completely depend upon robots. Yes, robots are intelligent but
you never know when they can start to malfunction. Robots
conquer most of the professions but not all of them. For example,
robots cannot become teachers. “Why not?” you may ask “Robots
are very intelligent and have in-depth subject knowledge!”. Yes,
they do, but the bond teachers have with students is way better than a robot. I
would like to conclude this article by saying “Robots may be in the future but are
not the future.”

Percy Jackson is the most thrilling adventure
you will ever read.
It’s the perfect combination of thriller, mystery,
fantasy and comedy.

In this report I will be telling you the summary


of the first book of the series: Percy Jackson and
the lightning thief.

This book tells us how Percy realizes he is the


son of Poseidon the lord of the sea. He trains on
the half-blood hill where the famous half-blood
camp is. He practices sword fighting in hopes of
winning many battles. He sets out on an adventure, a quest with his friend Grover
a satyr (Half human and Half Goat) and Annabeth Chase the daughter of Athena
the god of wisdom and military victory. They need to complete this quest or else
the entire world’s fate will be doomed as the gods will be at war. All of this
commotion is happening because
someone stole Zeus’s lightning
bolt. To figure out the mystery
man they first need to find out
where the lightning bolt is, then
they need to gather clues to find out
who did it. And the main reason all
of this is happening is because the
titan lord Kronos wants to take
over the world again. Kronos once used to
be the strongest person in the world.
Whenever he had kids he would
gobble them up. But when Zeus was born he revolted and defeated Kronos. After
Zeus defeated Kronos he freed his brothers Poseidon and Hades from his stomach.
But as gods are immortal he is healing in a ditch in the underworld known as
Tartarus. Now it’s up to Percy to save Olympus and retrieve the lightning bolt.

An Eye Opener
Crispr, when simplified, breaks down into the words
C = Clustered R = Regularly I = Interspaced
S = Short P = Palindromic R = Repeat
Now, without explanation these words seem very complicated and difficult to
understand. However, with little elaboration,
the meaning of these words comes into view.
DNA or, deoxyribonucleic acid, is the code
by which our cells form proteins and other
bodily secretions required for survival. In the
1960s, scientists bombarded plants with
radiation in the hope of causing random, and
maybe useful mutations in the plant. In fact,
for years, we humans have been using DNA to our advantage and breeding
useful characteristics in our livestock and agricultural crops. This was done
through the process of selective breeding, or, choosing certain parents to mate in
the hopes of progressing a certain characteristic of the animal. Crispr is simply
an easier and much more precise way of editing the human genome (which
contains the DNA) and producing certain mutations that we wish to occur. All of
this was discovered through the bacteriophage, or phage for short, phages are
pathogens (viruses) which attack bacteria, if a bacterium survives an attack by
chance, it can use a protein called Cas9 which reads the DNA of the virus attack
and replicates it to neutralize it. When the virus attacks again, the copied DNA
stream binds to the virus DNA and neutralizes it, thus stopping the virus attack.
(viruses attack by injecting their own DNA and using the cells/bacteria (in this
case bacteria) resources to make copies of itself). The revolution began when
scientists found out that they could give a certain DNA strand that they wished
to edit, and Cas9,(the protein), would do it for them, a lot of complicated science
is involved in how Cas9 does this, but we will not discuss it further in this
Article. Right now, Crispr technology is still in its early stages and testing on
human embryos will surely occur in the near future. This technology will soon be
able to eradicate the very concept of disease at its fundamental source. With
Crispr, we could edit our immune cells to fight off diseases that have been
plaguing

humanity for millennia, one of our most deadly enemies, cancer, can be stopped at
the source. We could kill the single deadliest disease, Malaria, by editing
mosquitos to eradicate the virus (plasmodium) in their own bodies. With the
revolutionary gene editing technology of Crispr, the very code of life is at our
fingertips and we can weave it as we see fit.

to play their sport. They are living legends. They printed their names in all our
minds. But the question remains on “how?” How were they able to achieve things
at such an extent or make such an impact leaving their names in the history
books? Was it destiny? Were they god gifted and just born destined to become
whatever they became? Well, let me tell you something. When Sachin Tendulkar
was born, I bet you the nurse didn’t go to his parents and be like “Here you go.
100 centuries.”
I strongly believe there was something else that took them there. Something that
separated them from us. Something they must have done probably just 1% more
than us but took them somewhere else. Critics use the words lucky, destined,
gifted, etc. I personally hate all these words. I think the words that correctly
define these champions are passionate, dedicated, hardworking, and very
determined. I believe this is what took them to that level. This is what they had
more than us. These are the traits that formed who they are today. Take Lionel
Messi for example. He was constantly told that he was too short, too weak, and
not fit enough. But did he care? No. He proved sheer-dedication could overpower
that. So, to all those people who think that these legends are god-gifted, lucky, or
destiny took them there, you’re very wrong. Now, coming to the main point: Are
they born or made? You would say none since they’re not born like that and god
didn’t make them like that. I would say that they made themselves like that.

An Honest Explanation
On the outskirts of a forest, Alanur was a small hamlet of Pulaiyars, studded with
small huts under old thatches and inhibited by Agraian labourers engaged in
menial occupations.
On the thresholds of the huts, covered with strips of leather, the red – crested cocks
crowed before dawn calling the brawny Pulaiyars to their day’s work.
Under the shade of the kanji tree, spread the voice of the wavy – haired Pulaiyar
women singing. As they were husking PADDY, out came a tall, lean, muschy
woodcutter carrying an axe on his shoulder, walking towards the forest.
There, he worked all day, occasionally wiping the sweat from his brow and trying
hard to cut the wood, but, his axe wouldn’t cooperate as it’s very old. As his hands
were also covered with sweat, his axe slipped and fell into the deep, dark river
below. He ran to the river as fast as his legs would let him go and fell suddenly by
his feet near the bank, for his axe was nowhere in sight. Surely, now he and his
family would starve. Moreover, the axe belonged to his grandfather and he loved
it with all his heart. He was devastated and was weeping in despair.
Then, to his utmost surprise, the forest goddess
rose gracefully from the river. Her presence
seemed to fill everything with beauty and joy.
In a melodious voice she said “what happened
my child. Why are you in such a state?” In a
voice filled with devotion and sorrow the
woodcutter replied “O, Tribhuvana
Chakravartin, my humblest apologies. My axe
has fallen into your river and I desperately need
it back.” Upon these words the goddess dived into the river and returned back
with a golden axe and offered it to the woodcutter, but, he refused to accept as it
was not his. The same happened with a silver axe. Finally, when she came back
with his old axe, he leaped with joy and accepted it gratefully. Pleased with his
honesty, she gave him all the three axes for his keep.

Diary Entry
Friday, 19th July 2019
Dear Diary,

You won’t believe what I had done today! Today, as usual I woke up early and
went for a walk. After I returned home, I saw a kitten mewing outside the gate. I
had felt pity on it because it was abandoned and left to meet its own needs. I wanted
to take it home but my parents won’t allow it. So, I decided to sneak it in.

I went inside and got a cushion for the kitten and laid it inside a thorny bush. Then
I laid the kitten on the cushion and went inside and went inside to get a glass of
milk and some of my pocket money. I gave the milk to the kitten and went to a
shop and bought some food for the cat. It was nice to have someone to look after
to.

I feel really responsible for the kitten but I can’t keep it for a long time and so I
decided to give away the kitten to an adoption centre. I will miss it but nature is
nature and it can’t be changed.

My Dream of Being a Rebel
I would like to be a rebel! This is because we need rebels in the world. If we all
follow the rules & stayed inside the lines, there would be no creativity. No one
would be inspired to express their views and we wouldn’t have the courage to
change the world. Our minds would be lived and life would be boring. Only our
difference can make the world a better place. This is why I want to be a rebel, but
not one that does it for fun. I want to be a rebel so that others can be inspired and
have the courage to express their views.

My favorite place of visit - Goa
Goa is located on the country’s southwestern coast and offshore island. It is one of
the smallest states in India. The capital is Panaji on the north – central coast of
the mainland district. It is bounded by the states of Maharashtra on the north and
Karnataka on the east and south and by the Arabian Sea on the west.
The first thing I like about Goa is its climate. Goa’s climate is equable, with high
temperature generally in the 80s F(30sc) and low temperatures generally in the
70sF(20SC) through the year. The second thing I like about Goa is its Economy
Agriculture remains mainstay of Goa’s
economy with rice, fruits (such as
mangoes), crops.
One of the best places in Goa except the
beaches I think is Panaji. It is also known
as Panajim. It is located on the banks of the
Mandavi River. The city has cobblestone
streets lined with colorful villas and
buildings from the Portugese colonial era.
Palm –fringed Miramar Beach sits at the
confluence of the river Arabian Sea. Set on
a hill overlooking the city is the baroque
Our lady of Emmaculate Conception
church, built in1619.
Last but not the least, Goa’s food is awesome. If you go there, you will get to see
a variety of foods. For ex- Goa’s Fish curry. The Goa’s fish curry or the Xitti Kodi
is the staple diet of every Goan. The goan fish curry is loaded with various spices
along with coconut. Raw mango is also used to give the dish a tangy flavor. The
main ingredients of the dish are a decent sized Pamfret and Raw mango. Instead
of Pamfret, kingfish may also be used. This goan dish is served along with rice.
It is no wonder that my favorite place is also known as “Peart of the Orient” and a
“Tourist Pradise”.

According to me the most heart touching book is Wonder which is written by R.J.
Palacio. This Wonder talks about a boy with facial abnormalities named August
who was homeschooled until he reaches fifth grade, when his parents send him to
a school. This book tells us about his adventures in school and...want to know
more? Then just read the book! This book also takes us through the fundamental
truths of how humans behave and how they should behave.

KERALA- The Country of Gods
My favourite place to visit is Kerala. Known for its palm-lined beaches and
backwaters, Kerala is also known for wildlife. Kerala’s capital
Thiruvananthapuram is distinguished by its British colonial architecture and many
art galleries. It is also home to the varied types of landforms.
With the Western Ghats at an elevation of 2700m from sea level on its east and
the Arabian Sea on its west and south, Kerala has 44 rivers which give this land a
beautiful diversified landscape. It is no exaggeration to call this beautiful part of
the world as 'God's Own Country'. Not only does Kerala provide us with beaches
like Kovalam, Kochi and Varkala beach but it also provides us with green lushes of
tea and coffee plantations like Munnar.
Munnar is a town and hill station
located in the Idukki district of the
southwestern Indian state of Kerala.
Munnar is situated at around 1,600
metres (5,200 ft) above mean sea level,
in the Western Ghats mountain range.
Munnar is also called the "Kashmir of
South India". Kerala is also popular for
Wildlife and provides us with beautiful
wildlife sanctuaries like Chinnar
Wildlife Sanctuary, Madhumalai
national park, Wayanand Wildlife
Sanctuary etc… not only that but
Kerala provides us with mouth-
watering food like Puttu, Appam,
idiyappam, the famous Shrimp curry
and many other savouring recipes of food. It also provides us with sweet,
refreshing coconut water. The women of Kerala wear traditional costume called
Mundum Neriyathum and the men of Kerala wear Lungi, locally known as Kaili
or Kalli Mundu. They speak Malyalam. the main festivals they celebrate is Onam,
Vishu, Thrissur Poonam, Christmas and many other festivals.Rich in culture and
heritage, Kerala is a popular holiday destination. Well that’s why it is said “When
you hear the name of India, your heart must swell with pride. When you hear the
name of Kerala, the blood must throb in your veins”

Beautiful Rebels
Rebels are people who prove the nation that everyone has to have the equal amount
of rights. But not just it, they are strong, intelligent, beautiful, and many more.
Would you like to be a rebel? Some people like them some don’t. But I would like
to be a rebel as it makes me feel different. It makes me think that I have purpose
for living. There are some who think being a rebel is easy and people become rebels
to become popular but in my opinion I don't think it's true. I feel being a rebel is
to have our own rights, be independent and having a new perspective. I want to
say that not only men but even women have the right to become a rebel as every
person is special in their own way.

The City of Life- Goa


Do you have a favorite place to visit? I do. My favorite place to visit is Goa. Goa
is a state and its capital is Panaji. Goa is divided into two parts: North Goa and
South Goa both the sides are equally fun to visit. I like Goa for its rich culture and
heritage its mouthwatering cuisine and the liveliness at its beaches.
One thing I find absolutely breath taking about Goa is its beautiful beaches and
the liveliness in them. My favorite is Baga beach. I love watching the sun set from
this marvelous beach. In this beach there are lots of people and lovely music. People
from all over the world come to this beach to capture its scenic beauty.
Goa is also known for its rich culture and heritage. Goa is a state with people from
diverse backgrounds living in it. The four main languages spoken in Goa are-
Portuguese, Konkani, Hindi and Maharathi. The Culture of is a blend of
Portuguese and Indian cultures. The Goans are particularly fond of the sport of
football and love to sing and dance. One thing I love about Goa is its
mouthwatering cuisine. Goa is famous for its sea food and coconut curry. The
staple food of the people of Goa is rice and fish curry. prawns and crab are my
favorite things to have in Goa.

Topic: My Favorite Place
Do you have a favourite place which you like to visit often? Well, I do and it's
U.S.A – United States of America.
U.S.A is just not one place it has different States in it .Hence it is called the United
States. It is one of the most known place in the world. It is highly developed and
almost pretty much crowded. It is in the continent of North America and it shares
the border with Canada on the top and Mexico
at the bottom.
The first state which I like is Texas which is
very spacious and not much of crowded. It has
a very famous Race track named Texas Motor
Speedway, where all the “NASCAR" events
happen which I like so much. It is very famous
over in Texas.
The second state which I like is Nevada.
Nevada is a developed city but it is mostly known for its casinos and the desert
which surrounds it. The Nevada desert is famous for its “Mysterious Area 51”, it
is hidden between the sand dunes and mountains which is under the control of
Government, highly prohibited to enter anyone. It is set for Alien researches.
The third favourite state is California. Majority of US citizen’s population is there
most specifically in Los Angeles. Although it is an over populated but people love
to live there because of its classy rich lifestyle.
In fact, I like not only these three States but all of them.

की थी | पू रा दिन बच्चों की पसंि के गेम ,गीत, नाचना, गाना सब दकया था | हर

बच्चों की खु िी के दलए वे नाचे– गाए और हर प्रकार से उसे मजे िार बनाया | मे रा
पसंिीिा कायय क्रम था दहन्दी का नाटक इस नाटक में बच्चों की िरारते दिखाई गईं
| मु झे यह सोचकर बहुत खु िी दमली दक अध्यादपकाओं ने हमारी खु िी के दलए
इतनी मे हनत की व अच्छे -अच्छे कायय क्रम दकए | उस बाल दिवस मु झे एहसास
हुआ दक हमारे अध्यापक हम बच्चों को दकतना प्यार और महत्व िे ते हैं |

Animals play an important role in our life. Without animal’s nature is incomplete.
Animals help humans and pets try understand the feelings of humans. For animals
we are living because by monkeys we are formed. Animals are the companions for
us.
Animals and humans have a great bond. Humans learn from animals. Humans
should have positive impact on animals. Well-being of humans is done by animals.
The animal kingdom is decreasing day by day because of hunters.
So, let’s think about saving animals not killing animals. Animals also have feelings
and they feel very sad when you or us try to kill them. So, stop killing animals.

Are We Going to Die of Thirst?


Did you know about 60% of your body is water!? And in some organisms, it is as
high as 90% Fresh drinking water is getting decreased day by day. Our own planet
Earth’s 71% of the area is covered with water! Water really is the biggest source
of life. But what does that mean? -What can start a planet; a lack of it can also
finish it? scary, right? But how can there be an end of the world by harming our
water sources? Is there a need to save water? Yes, because if there is

“NO WATER NO LIFE”. Water wakes us in different ways like -It helps us
excrete waste through urination and defecation, your body uses water to sweat,
urinate and have bowel movements. it also protects your spinal cord and joints. It
aiding digestion. It prevents you from becoming dehydrated.

Some tips to ‘’SAVE WATER” are turn of the taps, boil what you need, shower
with less, save up your dirty clothes, get a low – flush toilet, time your gardening,
catch rain water and try to do rain water harvesting.

What is Overpopulation?
Overpopulation is an undesirable
condition where the number of existing
human population exceeds the carrying
capacity of Earth. Overpopulation is
caused by number of factors. Reduced
mortality rate, better medical facilities,
depletion of precious resources are few of
the causes which results in
overpopulation. Growing advances in
technology with each coming year has
affected humanity in many ways. A
direct result of this has been increased
lifespan and the growth of the population. In the past fifty or so years, the growth
of population has boomed and has turned into overpopulation. In the history of our
species, the birth and death rate have always been able to balance each and
maintain a population growth rate that is sustainable. Since the time of the Bubonic
Plague in the 1400’s, the growth of population has been on a constant increase.
Developing nations face the problem of overpopulation more than developed
countries, but it affects most of the Earth as of now. When we are talking about
overpopulation, we should first understand the causes of it. Now let’s know the
effects of overpopulation.

The effects of overpopulation are quite severe. The earth produces only a limited
amount of resources like food and water which is a shortage in our lives.
Overpopulation also affects our lives as many of us travel in vehicles which
produces harmful gases which creates pollution and which affect the air we breathe.
What will happen in the future?
Scientists are trying to find resources in mars so that we can live there. We
might go to mars because of the growing over population.

Diamonds. Many people say that Iron is better. But let's agree to disagree. Here
are some tips and tricks you can keep in mind when you are mining Diamonds.
Trick 1- Always carry TORCHES
They might not seem important but in fact, they are. While mining they give out
light which helps us identify the mineral.
Trick 2- Keep A Bunch Of Pickaxes In Stock/Apply MendingYou never know
when your pick might break, right. But if you keep some in stock you can simply
use another one. Or you can apply mending to pick, by which it will never break
as long as you get XP
Trick 3- NEVER DIG STRAIGHT DOWN Yes, never dig straight down. Who
knows when mining straight down you might be turned to a crisp in lava. Or you
may drown in water.
Fun Tip- Diamonds are found when you dig 16 blocks while bedrock is found at

Will The Growth of Population Ever End?


One of the problems the world is facing is overpopulation. People should think
about the future and should control their emotions towards giving birth two more
than one child. On October 31st 2011 on this day the world population reached 7
billion. now exactly after 8 years the world’s population is 7.7 billion that means
the population has increased by 700 million and due to overpopulation there’s so
much pollution, overuse of natural resources and plastics metals and there is so
much deforestation as people need homes. You will be shocked to know that there
are 15000 births per hour. But we have to sort this problem or the earth will get
destroyed. We can encourage people to give birth to only one child, we should post
more articles or post blogs on internet that how dangerous it can be in the future
so at any cost this problem has to get sorted.

Save Water- Are We Doing Enough?
Water is the most precious gift of god. Life exist because of the availability of
water. Though water is countless, odorless it adds colour to everything on earth.
Many people are living than they need weather in the world’s most popular cities
or countries with beautiful agriculture fields.
Droughts have been more frequent and serve and are affecting thousands of
people across the globe as many as four billion people live in drough5t affected
areas and it’s on the increase. With the rising population, the water stress is only
going to mount.
There are different methods with which we can solve the water crisis. They
include rain harvesting, recycling water and purification of drinking water.
Afforestation is also good method that reduces surface area and recharges the
ground.
By practicing these we can conserve pure drinking water for our future
generations. Let us pledge and make it a lifelong motto to save water, save life.

Tortoise and The Bird
A tortoise was resting under the tree, on
which a bird had built its nest. The
tortoise spoke to the bird mocking “what”
worse is that you had it build it yourself.
I think my house which is my shell is
much better than your nest. “Yes” it is
made up of broken sticks, looks shabby
and is open to the element of nature. It is
crude, but I built it, and I like it. “I guess
it’s just like any other nest, but not better
than mine,” said the tortoise. “You must
be jealous of my shell though.”
“On the contrary” the bird replied. “My home has space for my family and
friends; your shell cannot accommodate anyone other than you. May be you have
a better house, but I have a better home” said the bird hopping happily.
MORAL: Better a crowded hut than a lonely mansion.

Fire it went near the fire and it catches the fire and the tree
shouted. It ran away from there and it went near one river,
the tree wanted to jump into the river, but before that the
tree should cross a bridge. Before that the bridge broke and
the tree got drowned. The tree shouted to the tree God. So
the tree God came and asked, what do you want the tree told.
Please help me and the tree God helped the tree and the tree
told take my legs, I don’t want legs. I will live in the forest
with my family and friends. So the tree God took legs of the tree
and lived happily.

Amazing Andaman Trip


This October I went to Andaman’s with my
entire family. First we went to Port Blair by
flight. While landing we could see many
islands. In evening I went to Carbyn Cove
beach and I did Jet ski. We had a lot of fun
there. Next day we went to Havelock. The
sea in Havelock is very clear. We use to float
there and make sand castles most of the time.
While returning we also visited cellular jail
in Port Blair. There I learned about the
torture faced by prisoners. It was an amazing trip.

The Dog Who Saved the Day
One day a dog named Carl wanted to attend a world class
dog university, but for that he needed to take a test. A
really hard test. He needed to lead one blind folded person
from one side of the room to the other side of the room.
Perfecting his routine, but when the day finally came
things didn’t work as he planned. He tripped over a cone,
he had to dodge and the person who he was leading got a
fracture. The headmaster took him out immediately. Carl
was really sad. When he got out of the school, he saw a
blind lady lost on the road with a car speeding against her. There was no time to
waste. This time he didn’t do any mistake and lead the; lady to the other side of
the road with ease. Because when he made mistakes he learned from it. While this
was happening the guard called the headmaster to see what was happening
secretly. After this happened the headmaster gave Carl an award and named him
the “best dog of the world”.

Louise Loves Baking


Louise and her brother loved art and one day when Louise was reading a book, she
said I love this kind of art. She showed the picture and said I see art in everything.
So they decided to make a cake for the cooking competition. So they bought some
ingredients for the cake and when they reached home and they added colour. They
mixed and mixed and it became grey, grey, grey!!! So Louise said don’t worry we
will see what is in grey colour. So when they saw before turning the last page she
got an idea we will make a robot cake so when they made and they won the
competition.

The Snake Does Not Fly?
Once upon a time when the world was new, the cobras used to have fins. This made
them eating eggs a lot easier. They used to have a colourful substance with
fragrance which was edible. It had a delicious taste. The snake except itself gave
the beautiful gift to no one. What a greedy and selfish snake. The animals
murmured under their breath. Once the snake was swimming under the sea, he
spotted a fish. He swooped down and swallowed the fish. The poor fish was
pregnant. At that time the fishes did not have fins. The fish cursed the cobra and
said,” my child will have your fins and your sweet substance will turn into poison.”
Saying this the fish gave birth to the baby and died. The snake spat out the the
baby and cried over his fate. That’s how the cobra lost its fins.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Azad was born on 15th October
1931 in Rameshwaram, a small town in South Tamil
Nadu. He is referred to as the missile man for his work
and regarded as a leading innovator and visionary in
India. He was a president of India from 2002 to 2007. He
was the first Scientist to occupy the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Dr. Kalam belong to a middle class family. His father was
a ferry driver in Rameshwaram. Dr. Kalam had a
fascination of things. When he was in 5 th grade, his
teacher explained how a seagull flies and this inspired him to a great extent. After
he finished aeronautical engineering, Dr. Kalam wanted to join the air force. He
was not selected of his short height, so he started his career as a Scientist. He was
awarded the Padma Bhushan for his research in science. He passed away on 27 th
July 2015 due to heart attack.

Mother Teresa was born on 26th August 1910. She joined
the Sisters of Loreto in 1926. She worked as a principal in a
High School in Calcutta. But the sight of poverty and dying
in the streets made her change her mind. In 1945 she came
across a dying woman in Calcutta hospital and she took care
of her. Mother Teresa opened Nirmal Hriday a home for the
dying destitutes in Calcutta. She became a citizen of India in 1962. She was
awarded Nobel Peace prize in 1979 for her humanitarian work with the poor..
She won Ramon Megsaysay Peace award in 1962. She was awarded Bharat Ratna
in 1980

There was a boy named Akash, who was a good boy but
wouldn’t finish his homework. Every day he would
throw his bag and go to play. The book, pencil and
eraser became sad and went to their wisest friend
bag. The notebook said,” Akash always scribbles”.
The pencil said, “He sharpens me and breaks my head”.
The eraser said, “He uses me roughly “.
The Bag made a plan and asked the Pencil to break its head purposely and told the
same to the Eraser and the Notebook. Soon Akash with left with no Pencil, Eraser
and the Notebook. He became very sad and realized his mistake. He said,” Very
sorry “and promised not to do it again. Moral: Respect the things that you have.

The Tastiest Dishes
Once there was a girl named Amilea. Amilea always dreamt of becoming famous.
Once Amilea was bored she went to the kitchen to see what she could do, there she
saw some spaghetti she cooked it, then she felt
it boring without toppings, so she looked
around the kitchen, she saw some sauce and
beside it were meat balls, then she spotted
some chilli flakes, she gathered all the spicy stuff
in the kitchen and added them and ate the
spaghetti. After sometime she realized
that there was a feast the next day. She cooked the
spaghetti. She took a 5- litre jar she mixed all the cool drinks and put them in the
jar. She made some more dishes and served them in the feast. Amilea didn’t know
that her uncle was a newspaper manager. He was world famous. His newspaper
would go everywhere. When he tasted the dishes he published them in the Daily
newspaper. Amilea became world famous. When she grew up she became a master
chef

Strange Incident
Once upon a time I and my family were living happily in our
house. The first day when we bought that house we felt weird stuff
happening there was a room from which weird sounds used to
come and one day my mom was sleeping in that room and then I
thought I should also take a nap so I went and suddenly I saw a
black shadow and I screamed my mom woke up and my family
came in the room when I saw that shadow it had red eyes and when it disappeared
my eyes became red and I got possessed for 5 days when I came back to my own
body I felt someone had been whispering in my ear and I heard.
“GO TO YOUR STORE ROOM” I went there and I saw something that was
really disturbing.
I saw my cousin unconscious and bleeding from his head and he was admitted in
the hospital.

The Worst Incident in My Life


The worst incident in my life was when I fell and got stitches on my chin! It didn’t
even pain at all while the doctors were stitching on the hurt. Now how I got that
hurt I ‘m going to tell you. So, I was in my class I-N. It was a free period and
everybody was chit-chatting at the back seat so I also went to chit-chat with some
of my friends. And I was learning to the table as all of us didn’t know the table was
loose! So, I was putting too much pressure on the table the table fell to the other
side and I slipped with the table and my chain got cut … it pained a lot and it also
started bleeding really heavily. Thank god! one of my friends called the teacher
and she suddenly took me to the nearby doctor. The doctor cleaned the area around
it, stitched it and put a bandage it. they also called my parents but only my mother
came as my father was out of station.
He also told that don’t put water on it! I thought how will bath So, this was the

Mission Mangal
The movie mission mangal is a true story that happened in 2012. In starting they
will launch a rocket named gslv FAT BOY but when it launched in the air it
blasted, they were very sad. Then they thought to launch another rocket to mars
named Mangalyaan. This mission almost failed but its success made everybody
very happy. From this movie I learnt that we should work very hard to success. If

Spider man far from home –
4/5 stars because it was good but not superb. In terms of graphics it was good and
story was also good but it had a few bad points, therefor I give a 4 out of 5-star
rating. WAR-Movie
4/5 stars because it was perfect but there is a really big twist and confuses many
people but if they had reduced the twist a bit, I would give a 5 out of 5-star rating
but other than that it was very good.
SWAMI VIVEKANDA-
5/5 stars because it was really in-depth and meaning full. It was the story of a
living Vedanta who sacrificed his whole life in spreading spiritual knowledge and
it was formatted and written with information very well.
SUDHA MURTHY-
4/5 stars because it had stories collected over the years, it was good but it was
not so great and therefore I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

Game Review FORTNITE
Fortnite is an engaging game, with 100 players
at the start and one winner in the end. The
graphics, locations, themes, music and c oncept
are annoying and the changing locations and
weapons gets you skins-deep into the game. The
characters, and smoothness is also done very
well. There are a few glitches, but otherwise, it
works well. The dance animations, guns and
sound effects are awesome. The game is 5- star,
and everything is good. daily challenges and the
inspiration to win is present.

Three Students and their Responsibility to Nature
There was a very famous school named green nature, in that school the class VA
was the best. In that class 3 students followed the rules and the class topers. Their
names were stem, root and leaf. Every day they used to plant and water plants.
Their teachers like them a lot. One day those three student got selected for the
world green earth competition. They were so excited and hoping to win.

The relationship between teachers and students is very strong…
Once, there was a girl who didn’t know how to write or read, but that girl did not
tell her teacher. Once there was a reading test conducted by the English teacher.
She did know what to do. The only language she knows was Tamil. Suddenly she
got an idea to act as if she lost her voice. But in the meantime, the teacher realized
that a girl in her class does not know how to read or write. When the teacher asked
the students, they told they did not know who can’t read or write. Suddenly an
idea struck the teacher. She put flower pots on all the children and planted the
plant. She said whoever gets the plant not fully grown, that means she does not
know how to read. After she planted the plant she saw that the girl can’t read or
write. She taught her how to read and write.
Moral- Teachers and students have a very strong bond.

A Bloody Incident
When I was in grade 1 I had come home from school. My sister and I were playing
on my mother’s bed. Then I pushed her slowly but she pushed me so hard that I
fell down from the bed and my head hit the edge of the wall. I started crying and
I covered my head with my hand. At this time my mother came to help me when
she saw blood on my hand and we went to the hospital [Continental Hospital] to
the emergency room. I was still bleeding. We were waiting for the doctor so that
he could do stitches on my head. Soon stitches were done and I was taken home.
There was a big bandage around my head. Then everybody was only listening to
me but the most tough thing was to take a shower but I managed and I had to rest
for the next two months. This was a bloody incident in my life.

Movie Review – Frozen 2


On December 5, it was my birthday and my parents and I watched the movie,
Frozen-2. The movie was in Platinum Cinemas and the theatre was amazing.
Everyone had a recliner all to themselves. The movie was also entertaining as
there were many songs in it. The movie was about Elsa hearing a mysterious song
and it leads her to an enchanted forest which her mother told her about. This leads
Elsa to freeze while finding how her parents died. Her city almost drowns but the
four spirits saved her and told her that she was the fifth spirit and she saved her
city. I would rate 9/10 for the movie because Elsa and Anna shared a wonderful
message of unity and harmony.

My Book Review
I read a book named the witches by Roald dhal. it was a little scary but should be
elaborated at the end. The most interesting part of the book was that when the
boy got changed into a mouse by the boss witch. She was cruel mean and filthy.
My favorite character in the story was the boy’s grandma she was kind and helpful.
If I was an author, I would like to add a little more content in the book, if I was a
part of the story the I would like to be the boy as he had lots of adventures. If you
happen to pass by the book in the library or given by someone then I would advise

A Teacher’s Love
Once upon a time there was as school and there was a class in which the children
hated their teacher because the teacher always scolded them. They never
understood that the teacher was doing it for their good. Once some children fought
with each other and they were taken to the Principal’s office. The teacher supported
the student’s and requested the Principal to give them a chance. So the principal
just warned them and did not punish them. But the students did not understand
the love of their teacher and continued behaving rude to her. One day they got a
homework to write about how their mother would behave with them. Everyone
read the homework aloud and realized that their teacher also behaves the same.
Soon all of them started apologizing to the teacher. They soon became buddies and
the bond between all of them just grew.

Importance of Parents in Our Life
The importance of parents in life is depending on our Sanskars and thinking. They play
the biggest role in our development. Father and mother play important role in our
mental, physical, social, financial and career development. Parents are the most precious
gift of God for us. They help us in every step of our life, they trained us very hard style
for the future challenges. Parents are living for us, they are real God and our first
teacher parenting a child is not easy. We should respect them and their decisions in
life.
Importance of parents when we’re child
In the development of the child, they play many roles. They provide everything that is
helpful in our development like milk, fruits, proper food from time 2 time for our
physical growth and sometimes they don’t have the money for the things that we want
but they manage to provide all those things to their child which are beyond their
capacity to provide. They teach and explain practically and theoretically about the
rituals and sanskars which are helping today in our life.
Parents help to make us educated
Parents do almost all the things to make us educated and well respected in the society.
They work hard day and night for their children education and feel proud of us when
we got good marks. their guidance and support help us to live the life we always
wanted.
Guide in adolescence
This is the most tensioned situation for parents and most enjoyable for teenagers. We
do lots of mistakes in this age, we try to convince parents every time for our activities
with the outer world such as outing with friends, living with a friend and doing other
activities that parents think is not good and bad company of people and friends drive
our life in the wrong direction. So, in this age, It is really important to us that we should
communicate about our feelings to parents and parents also need to talk to their kids
in teenage.
When we’re in tough situations
When we did something wrong, they scold us but they support us in difficult time in
life. They try to make balance in our emotional persistent that helps to improve tough
situation faster. They are the real leader in our life and never show off this to us and
never dominate our feelings. They are only who support us in each and every step in
our life with smiles and happiness.
Importance of parents in decisions
When we’re confused in life, they help us what to do or what not to do? They help us
in taking the importance decision of life like marriage, job, business etc. They want a
happy life for us So, it is important that we should love and respect their feelings, follow
and remember their guidance and those compromises which they are doing or did for
us. Respect your parents, believe on them and please share the importance of parents
in life with others.

Recycling and The Cost Factor

The natural resources won’t last forever, everything does come to an end and the
end is very near with the depletion of the natural resources. Daily people dispose
lots of stuff and hardly care about it...
Recycling is a way to reuse stuff. Recycling has been very useful as it reduces
‘Produce-Consume-Dispose’ to a ‘Recover-Reuse-Recycle-Redesign-
Remanufacture ‘which is more regenerative in nature. Unfortunately recycling has
proven that it’s quite costly. It involves large hidden costs in collecting, sorting
and manufacturing; therefore, it is necessary for government to overcome such
problems of recycling to be worthwhile. Recycling has proven its efficiency in
solving the problems of garbage disposal on landfills. The process of recycling
goes through many phases.
First there is collecting and sorting of garbage and then is manufacturing and
marketing. The garbage must be collected in proper manner. This sorting process
requires lots of manpower and tools, both of which are very expensive. We can’t
simply put everything into a big machine and “boom” we have recycled material.
Everything needs to be sorted and put separately into recycling machine.
Manufacturing and Marketing is the second phase in this process.so factories that
produce recycled products, are quite expensive plus it takes time because of the
latest technology. The recycled materials are not highly demanded because of
their quality as they are not good as the original material for ex. Recycled paper as
it undergoes four processes. So recycled paper is of lower quality than the original
paper and it cannot be used for long. So if the marketing of recycled products is
not economically worthwhile then the whole process of recycling can’t be
economically efficient.
While India provides a tremendous potential for reuse and recycling of products,
there is a felt need of strong social awareness regarding recycling...

Amte’s Animal Ark

Dr. Prakash Amte is a Ramon Magsaysay award winner. He dedicated his entire life
to help the tribal group of Madia Gond of Hemalkasa and made their lives
comfortable. He left the homely comforts of the city and shifted to Hemalkasa. The
forest was the home for tribals as well as many wild animals. Hunting was the main
source of food for the tribal people as they knew nothing about farming and animal
rearing. It was not only the root cause of their health problems but was also affecting
the balance of the forest. Hence, it was important to ensure animal conservation and
rehabilitation. It is an interesting story how he got his first animal. One day he saw
some tribals carrying a pair of baboons. One of the baboons was a female. She had a
baby and it was clinging to her body. It was a pitiful sight. He asked them to give the
baby to him and eat the bigger animals. Dr. Amte took care of it and named it Bablee.
Till the time the tribals
understand good food habits,
he convinced them to kill only
bigger animals and give them the
babies. He got fawns, species of
squirrels called Devkharis, a
bear named Rani , Asian antelope , peacocks , various types of deer, fox , hyenas ,
snakes, crocodiles and some leopards named Negal ,Raja and Negali together they
gave six cubs in the safe environment to these wild animals. Dr. Amte and his team
took care of all the animals with unconditional love and immense care. There was
harmony and feeling of togetherness with humans and animals. He takes care of these
animals and provide them with safe place till they become capable of surviving in the
natural habitat and release them back into the forest when they are ready. He has
witness many stories where a monkey, deer or even a hornbill who once stayed with
them show signs of recognition years after going back to the forest. r. Amte is true
inspiration for all of us, he reiterates the power of unconditional love. He calls it
animal orphanage, which his friends fondly call as
Amte’s animal ark.

Say No to Plastic
The usage of plastic has increased in the 20th century by a lot. People go to stores
empty handed and come back with lots of plastic bags in
their hands and then what do we do, just throw
them away. Only now people are starting to
realize our mistakes and are trying to reduce
plastic.
Plastic bags are mostly made out of polyethylene
which is made out of petroleum. Petroleum is a
limited natural resource which can be exhausted if
it is used a lot. Once a plastic bag is thrown on the floor
or dirt it takes centuries to decompose. Since most plastic bags are
non-biodegradable, they just break into small pieces and never decompose into the
earth! Plastic bags also harm the environment as stray animals like dogs eat them
since it is just lying on the ground and marine animals are no less sea turtles and
other sea creatures are mistaking plastic bags for jelly fish. Such an intake is
harmful is fatal to animals instantly or in the long run.
It's so easy to say no to plastic bags just carry a cloth or cotton bags with you. If
you had just one light-weight item just carry it with you by hand. Don't just
blindly throw away plastic bags, if you really insist you just have to use plastic
bags, keep one or two plastic bags then reuse them again and again! Before you
throw away any plastic bags just think "this plastic bag will stay on the earth for
centuries and pollute the earth so do I really think it is useful to throw this bag
away?". So let's not pollute the earth and keep it clean!

Formula 1 is a car racing championship, which is held every year. It has
approximately 20 cars and 10 manufactures. Each manufacturer has 2 cars and 2
drivers. There are close to 20 to 22 races every year across the world. Each race
is known as some grand prix. For example, the race held in Austin, Texas is
known as American GP. Top 3 drivers in each race go on the podium to collect
their trophies. Based on their position each driver gets points. The driver who
gets the highest points by the end of the year is called the champion of the year.
Lewis Hamilton from the Mercedes AMG Petronas motorsport team is the world
champion 2019.

Candy and Friends
Once upon a time there was a girl named Candy. She was named Candy because
she used to love so much candy, chocolate, candy floss and lollipops. She dreamt of
Candy floss. She dressed as Candy etc…. One day at school candy met a new
student named milk and then everybody were surrounding him. Milk was strong
and intelligent he was also good at studies. One-day Candy’s best friend Chips
unfriended candy in food Ville and the class was afraid of candy. They bullied her
and teased her. One day in P.E.D milk got A+ in Gymnastics and because of that
everybody surrounded milk and cheered him and left candy. Candy was sad and
jealous. She wondered that why was milk very good and strong. Then one day in
exam milk got A +and candy got F-. Candy then was very sad and she cried. Just
then Mrs. Apple came to candy and took her to her cabin then Mrs. Apple asked
candy what happened. Candy whimpered and told everything from the day milk
came and till now. Then Mrs. Apple said “See candy, milk drinks milk and dreams
of Milk and Milk is a protein and make us stronger and sharper. Candies don’t do
anything but make us unhealthy and sick.” “Candy I am not telling you bad when
a baby cries people give candy and that make them happy That’s the goodness in

My favourite Poet – James Michie


James Michie was a poet and a publisher who achieved notable success
in both roles. However, although he did not lack vanity, he was not a
man to promote himself and was not as well known as he deserved to
be. James Michie was born in 1927 in Weybridge, Surry. His father
was a banker. For his collected poems he won the Hawthronden prize
for Literature in 1995, at the age of 68.

The lessons that can be learnt from Henry Ford’s achievements are that one
should be perseverant as he worked hard day and night to make a car. He is
creative as he made the quadric-cycle and also never give up attitude he is also
intelligent because he is the inventor of the gasoline car, though he was scared of
Thomas Edison that he would not allow him to invent a gasoline car as he
worked in a an electrical company.

Siddharth’s Sixers
The movie was about a boy names Siddharth who lived in a village. Many people
turned crickets players in that Village. One day when Siddharth was watching
the practice on the ground, a ball came rolling near his legs. He picked it up and
threw it back. The ball bounced well and the coach there appreciated the throw.
Since then it was a common practice for Siddharth to go to the ground to watch
the practice. Many months passed by and Siddharth realised that he was part of
the practice everyday. The coach soon realised that he is good at batting too.
Soon Siddharth became part of the village team and started playing the matches.
He soon became a very famous cricket player of the village and soon of the state
and finally of the country.

Student Teacher Relationship
A teacher always plants a seed of love and knowledge in the students. She cares
for the students and nurtures them too. Some students blossom and some don’t. If
the flower has bloomed that means the teacher has been successful in growing the
student. In case the flower doesn’t appear very easily, then the span of growth is
slow. This could be because the student is not trying. A teacher always helps the
students to grow. A student will not grow if the teacher is not there. So we need
to always thank the teachers.

The Crazy Incident


This is an incident that happened in my life. One day my cousins and I went to
Forum Mall with my dad. We went to many shops and ate food. Then we went to
shop more and by the time we were in the last shop we were so tired and just
wanted to go home and sleep. We were at the escalator a group of people came in
front of us and the next thing I know is I was lost. I looked everywhere in the floor.
I couldn’t find anyone - neither my dad nor my cousins. Suddenly I remembered
the parking number of my car. I decided to go down to the garage and check if
they are there. I took a deep breath and went to the parking spot. No one was there
too. Suddenly there was a huge noise from behind and I saw it was my dad and
cousins searching for me. I shouted and they heard me. I almost fell unconscious
with the tension. Somehow I could hear a sense of relief from my dad’s chest when
he was carrying me to the car!

The Three Kids


There were three kids and a teacher wanted to know who is the most intelligent.
She gave them a plant each and told the children that whoever grows the plant in
the best way is the winner. One of them went on pouring excess water everyday.
The other one didn't bother much about the plant. The third one poured enough
water and also added some manure to it. At the end of the month the teacher
noticed that the plants were growing in three ways. They all went to the plants.
They noticed that the plant which was given excess water and no water had
died.Whereas the one that was given adequate amount of water and minerals grew
wonderfully.

Shadow Place
I have a place I love to go. It’s a fort, or a clubhouse, where I can go with friends.
We can hang out there, plan neat stuff, eat, and rest. Shadow Fort is my favorite
place for lots of reasons.
First of all, there’s plenty of room for a few kids. It’s large (gargantuan to me).
The fort is 3 ft. 8 in. high, 5 ft. 3 in. long, and 3 ft. 6 in. wide. There’s a place in
back (we call it the pantry) for crackers, grapefruit, avacadoes, potatoes, carrots,
berries, and Spanish moss. The roof is made of 4-ft. palm leaves and smaller
fronds.
Second, this fort is the first structure I ever built, with the help of my friend
Kevin. We built it during a light shower. It was only a few vines that tangled
together to make a kind of cave that we could crawl under. We worked fast to
put palm fronds and leaves over the vines. “Quick! Let’s get inside!” I shouted to
Kevin. We got inside in the nick of time. It began to rain powerfully, and oh how
the wind blew! But our fort kept us safe and dry. Later we named it Shadow Fort
because it sits in a shady area.
Finally, Shadow Fort is my favorite place because it has everything we need. We
keep food in the pantry, a small cot to sit on, and we even have a plywood door.
One time Kevin fell out of a tree and hurt his ankle. I helped him back to Shadow
Fort where he rested on the cot. Then I made some “dinner”—crackers, carrots,
and berries for dessert.
Can you see why Shadow Fort is my favorite place? I hope so. When I’m there, I
feel happy as a cat with cream!

Interesting Future
I invented a time door which took me to 100 years into the future. Now I am in
2200 and my clothes have changed and everything around me have also changed.
There are hardly any trees around me and all the people are wearing masks.
Some robots are serving food. Since I am hungry I went upto there and saw that
they are serving capsules of food. The robot extended a capsule to me and it was
written sandwich on it. I was puzzled but I put it in m y mouth and it actually
tasted like a burger and after having it I felt that I was hungry no more!
Somehow I didn’t like the future and so I went to the door and came back to
2020.

Chipko Movement
Uliana is a village hidden in away from the world at the foothills of the
Himalayas. This was were the famous Chipko movement took place first. A brave
girl called Mira was at the lead of the movement and she truly inspired me. I also
felt like doing something wonderful as a she did. As a first step to this I became
part of the Shri Dayitv programme in the school and started helping in various
social activities. I am thoroughly enjoying this service.

I made a time machine once and I programmed it to take me into 2120. It was
turning hot and soon I realised that I was in an abandoned land. I looked up in
the sky I saw the earth from there. I was a bit puzzled to where I am and then

Hello I am Aarush of grade 5c. I am in

This school have many types of

The Ghost and the three boys


Once upon a time there were three boys. Their names were Joe, Woe and
Mack . They were cousins and are very friendly and helpful to each other.

good in sports. Their favourite sports are cricket, badminton and football,

parents thought of scaring them by wearing a white cloth with design. so one

goat=mutton cow=beef. Cow is a holy animal to Hindus. We also don’t drive

My Views On Pollution
Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause
adverse change. The burning of coal and wood, and the presence of many horses in
concentrated areas made the cities the primary sources of pollution. The Industrial
Revolution brought an infusion of untreated chemicals and wastes into local streams
that served as the water supply. King Edward I of England banned the burning of sea-
coal by proclamation in London in 1272, after its smoke became a problem; the fuel was
so common in England that this earliest of names for it was acquired because it could be
carted away from some shores by the wheelbarrow. It was the Industrial Revolution
that gave birth to environmental pollution as we know it today. London also recorded
one of the earlier extreme cases of water quality problems with the Great Stink on the
Thames of 1858, which led to construction of the London sewerage system soon
afterward. Pollution issues escalated as population growth far exceeded viability of
neighborhoods to handle their waste problem. Reformers began to demand sewer
systems and clean water. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy,
such as noise, heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign
substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Pollution is often classed as
point source or nonpoint source pollution. In 2015, pollution killed 9 million people in
the world. Major forms of pollution include Air pollution, light pollution, littering, noise
pollution, plastic pollution, soil contamination, radioactive contamination, thermal
pollution, visual pollution, water pollution. The major forms of pollution are listed
below along with the particular contaminant relevant to each of them:
AIR POLLUTION: The Release of Chemicals and Particulates into the Atmosphere.
Common Gaseous Pollutants Include Carbon Monoxide, Sulfur Dioxide,
Chlorofluorocarbons (Cfcs) and Nitrogen Oxides Produced by Industry and Motor
Vehicles. Photochemical Ozone and Smog Are Created As Nitrogen Oxides And
Hydrocarbons React To Sunlight.
NOISE POLLUTION: Which Encompasses Roadway Noise, Aircraft Noise,
Industrial Noise As Well As High-Intensity Sonar.
WATER POLLUTION: By The Discharge Of Wastewater From Commercial And
Industrial Waste (Intentionally Or Through Spills) Into Surface Waters; Discharges
Of Untreated Domestic Sewage, And Chemical Contaminants, Such As Chlorine,
From Treated Sewage; Release Of Waste And Contaminants Into Surface Runoff
Flowing To Surface Waters (Including Urban Runoff And Agricultural Runoff,
Which May Contain Chemical Fertilizers And Pesticides; Also Including Human Feces
From Open Defecation – Still A Major Problem In Many Developing Countries);
Groundwater Pollution From Waste Disposal And Leaching Into The Ground,
Including From Pit Latrines And Septic Tanks; Eutrophication And Littering.

The Rampage of the T-Rex
It was a sunny morning at Southern Ice Cream School. Will was sitting in a boring
class. Then suddenly he heard a…... BOOM! The whole class shook and everyone
had to evacuate the school. Will saw a live, legit, living T-Rex! He wondered how
the T-Rex came in when he saw a helicopter hovering above the school. A short
man said ‘I am the great scientist called…. Ketchup! I will take over the world and
make it the Jurassic again!’. Will had to do something but he didn’t know what to
do. He called his friends Jilly and Johnny to fight the Rex. Will took a chair and
threw it at the Rex. The Rex was startled and chased the terrified trio. They
climbed to the terrace and saw the helicopter. They saw a time machine inside!
‘We have to get the time machine to stop the Rex!’ said Will. ‘Alright in
3...2….1…JUMP!’ . The three of them jumped on the helicopter and took the time
machine, which was small. Then, a guy with a knife tried to stab them but failed.
Those, Johnny kicked the guy in the groin! ‘Owwwwwwwwww!!’ screamed the
guy. He fainted. Then, will pointed the time machine towards the Rex and pressed
the red button. Then they all saw a yellow light. ‘ARE WE IN HELL OR
HEAVEN?!?!’ asked Will. Then they landed with a THUD! ‘NEVER PRESS A
RED BUTTON (life lesson)’ said Johnny. Then they looked around and saw a
beautiful forest glistening with dew. ‘Where are we?’ asked Jilly. Then Will looked
at a plant and exclaimed ‘THIS IS A HYPOTHERMIUS PLANT (don’t Google
it its fake...) WHICH LIVED DURING THE CRETACIOUS PERIOD!’ said
Will. ‘THAT MEANS THAT…THAT…WE HAVE GONE BACK IN TIME 65
MILLION YEARS AGO?!?!?!’ screamed Johnny. Then they heard a roar which
made them freeze in their tracks. ‘THE REX IS BACK!!RUN’ screamed Jilly. The
trio dashed into the thick forest but still didn’t outrun the Rex. The Rex almost
stomped over them and they saw a canyon. ‘Oh no! How are we going to jump
over?’ said Will. The three friends fell down the canyon and that’s when Jilly,
Johnny and Will woke up in Mr. Lasagna’s Math class. ‘IT WAS A DREAM?!?!’
shouted Johnny. ‘SHHHHHHHH!! NO SHOUTING!’ said Mr. Lasagna. Thank
god it was a dream.

Ameenpur Lake
I have first heard of Ameenpur Lake last
year when I did presentation during
‘Mad about Environment’ event in the
school. I did basic research on
Ameenpur Lake as part of my learning
exercise. I have learnt that the Lake is

man-made lake and very big one. I also


learnt that every year lot of migration
birds come from different parts of the
world to Ameenpur Lake.

Ameenpur Lake is also promoted as a tourist place. I have read reviews about
the place and also learnt there is lot of pollution causing damage to the lake. I
wanted to visit the place to explore the
man-made lake, learn about migration birds and also experience the impact of the
pollution around the lake
My parents suggested visiting the lake during the period where there would
be migration birds which was generally from September to November every
year. Hence, we have visited the lake this November with my parents and
friends from my society. I liked the early morning view from the view point
and sunlight reflection in the lake. I have learnt that there is lot of fish in the
lake and migrating birds visit during this period predominantly to escape
extreme weather or lack of food from other places.
We saw few birds like pelicans,
Eurasian coots, ducks, sparrows and
few other birds. I also saw the red
colour bird which I think is red finch. I
am learning about basic photography
and captured few birds and views using
my camera but missed the red finch
bird. We enjoyed the flight of the
pelican bird when it flew over the water
surface spreading its wings.

I could especially see the polluting water


as part the lake. I have learnt that water
colour varies based on the material /
minerals underneath the water. The
pollution was making the upper surface
of the water turn green and I would see
the wastage, water bottles etc., thrown in
lake. It is our responsibility to protect
the lake to ensure the natural habitat like
fish, birds and lake can survive. I am
spreading the awareness around this by
discussing with my friends, family and
society members and request all to do the same.

Books- My Constant Companion


I was fencing with all my might and felt I was going to pass out. That tends to
happen while fighting for your life against a full grown manticore. It threw its
knives but, instead of the noise of metal banging, I heard a more dreaded voice, the
clear command of my mother,” AADI!!! It’s time to go to bed.” I unwittingly closed
my eyes, waiting for the adventure in store tomorrow.

Cricket - A Gentleman’s Game
Cricket was invented by people in south-east England. Som e
researchers claim that the game was played from as early as 13 th
century. In the early days, cricket was played by children in
the countryside. A stone was used in the place of the ball and
the players used a simple bat staved from a branch. The first
officially recognized Test match was played at the MCG
(Melbourne Cricket Ground) between Australia and
England where Australia won by 45 runs.
The art of making a cricket bat is known as pod shaving. Cricket bat were not
always in this shape. Before 18th century bat tended to be shaped
similarly to a modern hockey stick. This may well have
been a legacy of the game’s reputed origins. A cricket ball is a
hard, solid ball used to play cricket. It consists of a
cork core wound with string then a leather cover
stitched on to make a seam. Cricket ball has a shiny
surface on one side of the seam and a rough surface
on the other side. This makes the ball swing in the air
when thrown with a certain speed and angle. A
swinging ball, in right conditions is virtually unplayable
by the batsman. This is used to contain runs or yield precious wickets.
Cricket is a team sport, and is played by 11 players on either side. Each cricket
match is officiated by two umpires on field. International matches have an
additional umpire, called the Third Umpire and a Match referee.
Cricket as a game is played at all levels and genders. Cricket is governed by
International Cricket Council or ICC. ICC ODI World cup (One Day
International) event is conducted once in 4 years. Current World Champion in
ODI is held by England team. Australia has the record of holding the most ICC
World cup trophies.

Iskcon- Bhagwat Gita was gifted to me by my aunt this weekend.
Bhagwat Gita tells about lord Krishna. Krishna is
super personality of god head. He is creator of this
universe, given of blessings. He is above all
material world.
Gita speaks about the purpose of human
birth and it mentions that there is soul
in every human being and that soul has to be
one with the Lord Sri Krishna.
Gita is a so beautiful that all human
being soul gets enlighten. Therefore,
iskcon advices everyone should read
Bhagwat Gita once in lifetime. It also
preaches to chant har Krishna maha mantra
every day.
Maha mantra is : Hare Krishna hare
Krishna Krishna Krishna hare hare, hare
rama hare rama Rama rama hare hare
Thus, chanting person becomes devotee of Lord Krishna.

ADVENTURES OF TIN TIN THE 7 CRYSTAL BALLS

The book ‘7 Crystal Balls’ is very adventurous and amazing comic. There were many mysteries
and detective cases like the stolen casket and the missing Doctor Calculus. The suspense stories
are very well presented. For example, the reader doesn’t know that if calculus is alive or dead
and about the people who are attacked by the crystal balls. The author presented it very well
and all kids enjoy reading this. In the book, Tin Tin even though is a teenager he is very brave
and intelligent. He is always with his dog snowy. They both along with other friends solve the
mysteries behind those mysteries. My opinion about the book is very good reading for everyone
to read it and has a lot of mysteries and detective cases. It keeps you occupied and it is very easy
to visualize and think about various characters and stories involved like the stolen casket and
the missing Doctor Calculus. I like the characters depicted as Thompson and Thomson very
much and help Tin Tin in guiding to solve the mysteries.

So, what is painting?
When you hear the word painting the first thing that comes into your mind is
some paint splashed here and there, and some stuff drawn and voila! There goes
the painting! No. There is a lot more to a painting than that.
A painting is an artwork created using color on a surface such as paper or canvas.
The color might be in a wet form like acrylic paint, waterco lors and sometimes
even coffee! And then there are the dry colors which include soft pastels, oil pastels
and so on.
How does painting help?
Painting helps in memory for people like me (I forget, a lot) and it also helps in
the emotion department, you know, helps you control your emotions and puts it
on to the paper. Painting helps you get creative in all the ways possible. It builds
problem solving and motor skills. The art of painting provides stress relief and
makes you open, hopeful and confident about the future. Have you ever noticed
that you use a different set of colors when you are drawing something related to
summer and when you are drawing something related to winter? This set of colors
is called a color scheme. It serves the purpose of getting your drawing and its
viewer into the mood! We use Red, Orange, Yellow when we need to make
something summer related. These are called warm colors. Therefore, they make a
warm, lively energetic and inviting climate. But when we need to get a cool
weather into the picture, we use the colors Green, blue and Violet. These colors
are soothing colors and are usually used to make nature, water and the sky. They
bring out a calming, relaxing and peaceful feel. I paint when I am happy, I paint
when I am sad and I paint when I have nothing else to do . Painting helps me
put my thoughts and expression in a very different way on the paper and I am
thankful for that.

Why do we have different skin colours

If we see the people around us, we can easily notice that different people have
different skin color. Why is so?
Human skin color can range from almost black to pinkish white in different people.
In general, people with ancestors from sunny regions have darker skin than people
with ancestors from regions with less sunlight. On average, women have slightly
lighter skin than men.
Skin color is determined by the amount and type of the pigment melanin in the
skin. Melanin comes in two types: phaeomelanin (red to yellow) and eumelanin
(dark brown to black). Both amount and type are determined by multiple genes.
One copy of each of those genes is inherited from the father and one from the
mother. The combination results into great variety of different skin colors.
Melanin's purpose is to protect the skin from the Sun's harmful UV rays and it
works like a natural sunscreen by absorbing these UV rays. The more melanin
your skin has, the darker your skin will be and the more protection it will have
against UV rays.
Light skinned persons have tenfold greater risk of skin cancer and other skin
problems. The advantage of light skin is that it lets more sunlight through, which
leads to increased production of vitamin D3, necessary for calcium absorption and
bone growth. Dark-skinned people who live in sun-poor regions often lack vitamin
D3, one reason for the fortification of milk with vitamin D in some countries. Skin
color has been a reason for discrimination in various parts of the world. However,
as mentioned above it’s just our body’s mechanism to fight with harmful UV rays
and each skin color has its own pros and cons. Light skin color increases the risk
of skin diseases and on the other hand, dark color is less efficient in producing
vitamin D3. Hence, we should never discriminate based on skin color.

CHRISTMAS
Christmas is an annual festival celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed
primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of
people around the world. It lasts twelve days and culminates on Twelfth Night.
It is celebrated religiously by a majority of Christians, as well as culturally by
many non-Christians, and forms an integral part of the holiday season centered
around it.
Christ was born in Bethlehem. When Joseph and Mary arrived in the city, the inn
had no room and so they were offered a stable where Jesus was soon born,
with angels proclaiming this news to shepherds who then further spread the
information. Although the month and date of Jesus' birth are unknown, the church
in the early fourth century fixed the date as December 25. Different types of
decorations developed across the Christian world for Christmas, dependent on
available resources. The first commercially produced decorations appeared in
Germany in the 1860s, inspired by paper chains made by children. The traditional
colors of Christmas decorations are red, green, and gold.
Christmas cards’ traditional greeting reads "wishing you a Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year". Christmas cards can
depict Christmas traditions, mythical figures such
as Santa Claus, objects directly associated with Christmas
such as candles, holly and baubles, or a variety
of images associated with the season, such
as snow scenes and the wildlife of the
northern winter.The exchanging of gifts is
one of the core aspects of the modern
Christmas celebration, making it the most
profitable time of year for retailers and
businesses throughout the world. Young children
look forward to Christmas because of Santa Claus, who is believed to drop presents
through the chimneys of the houses of well-behaved children, the night before
Christmas.
Christmas is a fun and magical time of the year for children and adults alike and
I look forward to it as much as anyone else.

All About Future
The Shri Ram Universal School is buzzing with excitement as All About
Future on 21 December, draws nearer. This mega event focuses on
exposing the visitors to the future, with ideas on what the world will be
like 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 1 billion, 2 billion, 3 billion, 4 billion and 5
billion years after now.
Every class has been allotted a specific topic on which the class has to
express their views, with the help of models and charts. Each class has a
stall in which they can display their charts and models. The students
show the visitors around their stall, explaining their topic.
Apart from setting up stalls, there are plays, songs, dances and shows,
which perform at different times for the guests to see.
Students work hard to set up their stalls and attract visitors to their stalls.
TSUS looks forward to the success of All About Future.

Black Holes
A black hole is a region of space-time exhibiting a gravitational acceleration so strong
that nothing can reach its escape velocity- not even light!
This gravity is so strong because the matter of a gigantic star is squeezed into an
infinitely dense point known as a singularity. This pulls more objects into the black hole.
Because no light can escape, a black hole is basically invisible even to the strongest
telescopes. Some specialized instruments detect the radiation of a black hole- proving that
they exist!
A black hole is a place where the laws of physics as we know them break down. Einstein
taught us that gravity warps space itself, causing it to curve. So, given a dense enough
object, space-time can become so warped that it twists in on itself, burrowing a hole
through the very fabric of reality.

A massive star that has run out of fuel can produce the kind of extreme density needed to
create such a mangled bit of world. As it buckles under its own weight and collapses
inward, space-time caves in with it. The gravitational field becomes so strong that not

even light can escape, rendering the region where the star used to be profoundly dark: a
black hole.

As you go deeper into the black hole, space becomes ever curvier.
The outermost boundary of the hole is its event horizon, the point at which the
gravitational force precisely counteracts the light's efforts to escape it. Go closer than this,
and there's no escape.

The event horizon is ablaze with energy. Quantum effects at the edge create streams of
hot particles that radiate back out into the universe. This is called Hawking radiation,
after the physicist Stephen Hawking, who predicted it. Given enough time, the black hole
will radiate away its mass, and vanish.

Shri Utsav, an Inter- School fest


The Shri Ram Universal School organized an Interschool Literacy Fest
on 2nd November 2019 on the theme ‘Appreciating Teachers and
Understanding Students’ Perspectives’ with great enthusiasm and
fervour. As part of the school’s year-long initiative ‘Acharya Devo Bhava’,
it was yet another attempt to acknowledge and honour the contributions
of teachers in a child’s life and to society at large.
To make the experience illuminating and rewarding for participating
students from various schools across the city of Hyderabad, a series of
age-appropriate activities were organized. Each activity was meticulously
interwoven with the theme, ‘Acharya Devo Bhava’. An Array of
intriguing activities like Mono-Acting, Best Out of Waste, Create Your
Own Rap Song, Animation Movie Making, Debate, Ad Mad revolved
around the theme and were the highlights of the Fest.

as it was an interschool competition
What did you like best at our Utsav?
I actually did not go outside so much I only saw ad –mad and dub –o –mania out of
these two I would choose dub-o-mania. I felt that was pretty good and about this
school I liked the hospitality and the classrooms were colourful.
If you would like to an event in your school similar to Shri Utsav which event will
you want to replicate?
If I wanted to replicate an event that would be…ad-mad as I found it very funny
and entertaining as it included about introuducing a new prouduct in the market.

up was good as everyone showed their skills.

All About Future
The pace of change is mandating that we produce a faster, smarter, better grade of
human being.
As fantastic as it may sound, beyond that 50 years’ limit, we enter a realm of
fantasy land, where the world of Lewis Carrol meets reality. It will no longer be
Sci-Fi.
We are warming the climate, overspending our financial resources, requiring more
fresh water than we have and diminishing other species whenever we can’t cope
with a problem.
The Shri Ram Universal School has always been a forerunner when it comes to
evolved thinking and education and has empowered its students to take
accountability for their axctions. Understanding the need of the hour and keeping
the vision of the school in mind, it created yet another furore in the education
industry with its signature mega event ‘All About Future’ held in the premises on
24 December 2019 as a part of the year long ‘Acharya Devo Bhava ‘initiative.
A student centric program, the campus turned into a futuristic universe as it
involved the little wonders of elementary delving on the topics of Travel and
transport and Basic needs – food, water, lifestyle, sleep.
The Primary Branch researched on futuristic topics like Space – humans in Space
– Currencies, Future of communication and Education, Future of Architecture and
Fashion, creating props and models which gave an insight into the future.
The Middle School was caught brainstorming and creating models about Life
through the Earth in the next 500 years- Agriculture, Environment and Climate
as well as complex issues on future of self-insight into Health and Medicine.
A gala event attended by eminent guests and personalities from the society, it was
a treat for the eyes to see the future unfold right in front of our eyes. The Street
plays, flash mobs and the fortune telling kiosks set up by the Shriites added the
cherry on the cake. The guests were left mesmerized as the dynamic Shriites left
this thought in their minds:
In your real life you can walk through a beautiful new dawn. Or your own action
movie sequel. With you as both the director and the star.
