real,- BERLIN MARATHON is a partner of the Science Year 2010 – The Future of Energy

Nothing Runs without Energy

How much energy does a marathon runner use
during his run across Berlin to the finish at the
Brandenburg Gate? If you could collect the en-
ergy used by all 40,000 participants, how many
decades could you light a light bulb with it?

We will answer these and many more questions about

the “Human Bundle of Energy” during the “Day of
Energy” being organised by our partner “Science Year
2010” that will take place on September 25, 2010,
parallel to the inline skaters’ real,- BERLIN MARA-
THON. On that day, universities, research institutions,
museums and companies throughout Germany will be
opening their doors and offering a glimpse at the new
developments and research involving energy.

Spectators of the real,- BERLIN MARATHON at Pots-

damer Platz will be able to experience energy directly
along the course – through an exhibit on the future of
energy research and many exciting activities. Additio-
