Section 4 – FIRST AID MEASURES
NOTE If irritation persists after any kind of body exposure, get medical help. Treat any body part for frostbite,
with warm water if there is direct contact with the spray.
Breathing Small amounts of vapors are not likely to injure, unless the product is heated. Get to fresh air if
symptoms appear. Keep person warm and quiet. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If breathing has
stopped, administer artificial respiration and Get Medical Help at once.
Eating Get Medical Help at once. Unlikely route of entry for an aerosol. Do not induce vomiting.
Eye Contact Immediately flush eyes thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and Get Medical
Help at once. Remove contact lenses. Hold eyelids open to irrigate fully.
Skin Contact Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash exposed area with soap and water. Wash
contaminated clothing before re-use. If irritation persists, or if contact has been prolonged, get medical help.
Medical Notes Treat symptomatically
Extinguishing Media Carbon dioxide or dry chemical for small fires. Dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water
spray, alcohol-type foam, or all-purpose-type foam, for large fires.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Under fire conditions, irritating and/or toxic vapors, or gases could be
present. At elevated temperatures, pressurized containers may burst, vent, or rupture. Use equipment or
shielding to protect personnel against bursting, rupturing, or venting containers. Cooling with water streams
may be helpful.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: Firefighters should wear self-contained, positive-pressure breathing
apparatus, due to thermal decomposition products, and should avoid skin contact.
Respiratory Protection Generally not required if adequate ventilation is provided. If exposure limits of product
or any of its components are exceeded, use an approved organic vapor mask in accordance with 29 CFR
1910.134. NIOSH-approved atmosphere-supplying respirator or a NIOSH approved air-purifying respirator with
organic vapor cartridge and dust/mist pre-filter is recommended (consult your safety equipment supplier).
Above 1000 ppm; an approved self-contained breathing apparatus or air line respirator with full face-piece is
required. We consider it good practice to maintain exposure below the 5mg/m3 OSHA oil mist exposure limit.
Other Protective Equipment As required by your company. If contact with the spray is likely, eye protection is
recommended. Goggles or safety glasses with side shields and a face shield will provide protection in most
situations. Do not wear contact lenses.
Other Engineering Controls To determine exposure levels, monitoring should be performed. Eye bath and
safety shower station should be available.
Work Practices Do not use in confined or closed space. Ventilation must maintain concentration of product
and its components below their TLV/PEL exposure limits. Avoid long-term or repeated inhalation. Avoid
contact with eyes; wear chemical goggles if contact is likely. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin.
Wear clothing and/or chemical-resistant gloves appropriate to the level of skin contact that is likely.
Hygienic Practices As with using any chemical product, avoid contact with skin and avoid breathing vapors.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke in work area. After use, wash hands before eating, drinking, smoking or using
restroom. Product can contaminate tobacco, causing flu-like sickness if smoked. Wash contaminated clothing
before reuse.
Appearance and Odor Information Tan to yellow mist with the odor of petroleum solvent as dispensed from
the aerosol package.
Section 10 – STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Incompatibility (reactivity, materials to avoid) Strong oxidizers, chlorine dioxide, strong caustics, acids,
plus some plastics, rubbers, coatings or amines.
Product Chemically Stable? Yes
Conditions to keep Stability Avoid temperatures above 400º F (204º C). Avoid contact with open flame,
electric arcs, or other hot surfaces that can cause thermal decomposition. Avoid temperatures high enough to
rupture container. Do not spray into flame or onto red-hot surfaces, which could ignite spray.
Decomposition Products Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, silicone dioxide, and various incompletely
burned hydrocarbon products would be expected.
CAUTION Intentional misuse of this chemical product, as with any industrial chemical in contact with
the body, can be harmful or fatal. This includes such things as deliberately breathing, placing in
mouth, swallowing, placing on skin, or any other body contact, or repeated, or continuous contact.
