Diary Writing Activity for Year 5 & Year 6

During Malaysian Control Order (MCO) / Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) you could not
go to school. You are asked by your English teacher to help any of your family members to
do any house chores. Then, write a diary about what you did. You may follow the given
writing guidance. Write your diary between 30 – 50 words.
Example 1

Time : 9.00 p.m________

Dear Diary,

Today I had a wonderful day, as I can help my mother to cook for our dinner. I helped my
mother to fry eggs because it was easy. Besides that, I prepared for our dinner table. I
arranged the plates, glass and the spoons. Once done, I helped my mother to clean the
dishes. I had a great time today.

Example 2

Dear Diary,
I am so excited today, as I can help my father to clean our house. My brother and I swept
the floor and wiped the window pan. Furthermore, my father cleared the bush.
Meanwhile, my mother cleaned the clogged drain. Later, we had some refreshment. It
was a tired but fruitful day.

Example 3

Time : 7.00 p.m________

Dear Diary,
I am so happy, as we went to our pepper plantation today. My brother and I helped our
parents to harvest the pepper. At the same time, my father cleared the dry leaves.
Besides that, my mother dried the pepper at our wooden hut. We rested at 1.00 p.m. for
lunch. I enjoyed my day so much.

Sepanjang tempoh Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) anda tidak dapat hadir ke sesi
pembelajaran di sekolah. Anda telah diminta oleh guru Bahasa Inggeris anda untuk
membantu mana-mana ahli keluarga untuk menjalankan kerja-kerja rumah. Tulis diari
tentang kerja-kerja rumah yang telah anda laksanakan. Anda boleh merujuk kepada
contoh-contoh penulisan diari yang disertakan. Panjangnya diari anda adalah dalam
lingkungan 30 – 50 patah perkataan

Tips
1. Your diary should be written in your exercise book every day. Start from today until our
school day
Tulis diari anda di dalam buku latihan setiap hari. Bermula hari ini sehingga kita kembali
ke sekolah

2. You may write you essay using the examples given. You may change the underlined
words, using your own ideas.
Anda boleh menulis diari anda berdasarkan contoh di atas. Anda boleh menukar ayat
yang digariskan menggunakan idea anda sendiri

3. You are allow to use your own writing style to write your diary based on your creativity.
Anda juga digalakan menulis mengikut gaya penulisan diari sendiri berdasarkan
kreativiti masing – masing.
