Resynthesis Gating - Jan Franco

I experimented with a piece of music that I wrote/produce called “Good Timez.” - This is
the file “1. Music Source.” Before importing the sound source, I brought it to a max of -8
dBFS (since it was heavy limited at 0dBFS).

I tried a number of different variations by setting different values for the Maximum
Amplitude and Threshold Under Maximum variables. I observed the most dramatic
change in the audio signal when in the last example I brought the Threshold Under to
-20dB.

Some of the artifacts that I encountered are:

- White noise in the left channel

- High frequency roll off
- More rounded timbres (less transients, less high frequency content)
- Sinewave-like sounds - sounds like it’s much simpler harmonically - almost like organs
- Reverse-like effects
- Glitches and pops
- Gated sounds (as I would expect from a processing like this)

For the speech, I experimented with an audio saying: “Hola, soy Jan Franco”

The artifacts that I heard were similar to that of the music source, but in this case
sounding more “robotic” because in this case the original audio is just vocals. I had to
bring the Threshold Under to -40 to recognize that it’s clearly vocals.
